Alexa Chung has just released her first collection. £330 for a polo shirt!! I just don't get the adulation that she attracts. Yes, she's tall and skinny and generally looks ok in what she wears. But so do a lot of ppl. What am I missing?

I've just found pictures of her with her dad, when they met Kate Middleton, I doubt her family are short of a few bob as apparently he introduced her to Kate! I really doubt she needs a sugar daddy.

I think she generally looks great. She is definitely underweight. Definitely fancy her boyfriend.

My source was, unashamedly, blind gossip.

I like this kind of stuff on her. She has lovely eyes.

I think she looks as if she needs a good wash, just like Kate Moss, maybe that is the appeal to some.

She is a big smoker. Constant faaaaaag in her hand. I suspect that's part of the whole insouciant cool thing. Personally I don't think it's a great look.

I don't know anything about Alexa Chung but I just have to say that using sugar daddies is 100% NOT a poor thing. Tons of pretty well off women use them. I have seen it personally. So that's not a very good point.

I think she's very beautiful. And she came across as a nice warm person when she appeared on celebrity Bake Off.

Fashion wise I'm not overly impressed, her red carpet look is often some velvet dress that looks like something an 8 year old would have worn to family parties in 1984. Although she will sometimes wear an outfit that looks absolutely amazing. But there's no denying the massive influence she's had over the high street in the last few years, Breton tops, Peter Pan collars, loafers etc.

Her M&S collection was a horror though. I seem to remember a particularly ugly yellow dress.

I like her :)

I don't like her clothes, although I am considering running up a dress out of green grocers' grass and then flogging it for a squillion quid.

Her look is very influential, and most of the time I really like it. But only very thin women/teens can carry it off

She's beautiful but very very skinny - her legs aren't 'great' - they worry me. She's not a gangly 15 year old, she's a grown woman

I think she comes over as very bright and rather nice

I have seen her in the flesh a few times - didn't want to draw attention to herself but instantly recognisable - tall.

Thanks dulcimena and others who've explained what she does, I had no idea she was a presenter or a model, it sounded sarcastic to ask, it was a genuine question.

I'm not really into her to be honest, she always seems a bit bug-eyed and too cool for school.

I am mad jealous that she's dating Alexander Skarsgard.

I'm not sure they're dating as such. It's rumoured to be more of a mutually beneficial alliance.

What the hell is he doing with her? Shock

I thought he liked busty, slightly portly, short blondes? like me

I'm also not a fan of hers but she does wear the odd nice outfits. Although people are saying she's really tall - she's 5'8 which isn't that tall. I was expecting her to be 6 foot or something, I'm 5'9 and while I^^ am tall, I wouldn't say I'm 'instantly recognisable' because of it or known as being mega tall.

Most of it can be categorised as painful, impractical or ugly.

I have the m&s blue high neck shirt from her collection - it is v flattering and I often get nice comments about it, but it was £16 not the £££ of her new collection.

I got the grey v neck sweater, which was lovely for 3 washes, by which point it would have been too small for my 4'9 MIL.
