I've found a pic of her but it will totally out me so I can't post it. She is petite with long black hair. The colour was just right - I think she's one of the few people who could get away with it.

mammmamia · 29/05/2017 11:47

That yellow dress is not nice sorry and the length will make most women's legs look shorter.

Gingernaut · 29/05/2017 15:59

I'm reporting from the Merry Hell Technicolor Mothership.

They're trying to flog a Spanish, flamenco 'thing' as well as the dress.

I have to say, if I wore skirts, this doesn't look too bad.

The lacy, see through top with cami vest....not so much.

Still looking to accessorise the dress though.

Furball Grin

The Bardot 'sleeve' trend is one thing. A Bardot 'sleeve' dress in shit brown is quite another.

Furball · 29/05/2017 20:35

one very funny review about it being useful for the 'peasants revolt' re-enactment Grin

OhTheRoses · 29/05/2017 20:40

That Brown dress is the queen of utter ghastliness. All women board members should be made to wear it.

In about 1984 M&S had a pure silk cream blouse with double cuff. It was £20 and divine. I also had a tartan (blackwatch) dress withvsleeves and a belt - was gorgeous £25. A year later a grey wool dress with mandarin collar and embroidered bodice £30. I used to wear it with a silk cumberbund - had a full skirt.

In the early 90s they introduced Italian tailoring - I had two fantastic work suits - cost about £100. In the mid 90s I had a fabulous swing coat with due collar for £99.

The prices are much cheaper but the quality, cut and fabric is minging.

Board - explain. Please do a live MNet chat.

I belong to a re-enactment society and we like to dress up and recreate scenes from the Peasants Revolt of 1381. Imagine my delight when I found that M&S had researched this exact same moment in history, and created a perfect garment. Next year we are recreating scenes from the Black Death, and I'm delighted that I'll be able to wear this again, as I'm to be one of the Flagellants. Thanks M&S!

😁😁😁😁😁😁😁🤣

Do they really not read the reviews??

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 29/05/2017 21:06

That brown monstrosity is ..... words fail me.

OhTheRoses · 29/05/2017 21:08

It could be used to herald a poo thread Grin

ErrolTheDragon · 29/05/2017 22:25

I disagree with that. All male board members should be made to wear it (or the pink one, as its bra incompatibility clearly makes it unsuitable for most women).

originalbiglymavis · 29/05/2017 22:30

It looks like a collapsed pot.

JennyHolzersGhost · 29/05/2017 22:33

Holy shit that dress Shock

OhTheRoses · 29/05/2017 22:36

BugEyedBeans · 29/05/2017 22:37

Hey, but get this.

Our favourite dress is back.

With side splits. And no sleeves. And khaki?

Gingernaut · 29/05/2017 23:27

100% polyester. For a maxi summer dress.

No, sorry. Wrong again. We could layer it.

Look at the poor woman. She is not enjoying her job.....

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 29/05/2017 23:32

The stripy orange one is nice (Not as nice as the archive version but at least looks like a dress) but the other 2 are hideous.

theaccidentaleconomist · 30/05/2017 00:54

I have a lovely long black swing wool coat with a velvet hood and lining from M&S back in the nineties. I'd still wear it if I hadn't 'grown' out of it.

I was hoping against hope that M&S might reintroduce an updated version from their archive but I suppose it is not really something Alexa Chung would wear.

The pink monstrosity looks like something from The Handmaid's Tale. No, on second thoughts, the Handmaid's Tale dresses are much more classy and wearable...

OhTheRoses · 30/05/2017 01:17

I remember that coat. My friend had one.

Gingernaut · 30/05/2017 06:18

I remember a beautiful grey wool coat I bought (also 90s).

M&S had some sort of tailored, Italian-style range.

Every time I look up Speziale, I keep finding Per Una and Collezione is for men.

I'm not dreaming, M&S had a high quality, Italian-styled, tailored range of clothing. They had gorgeous things once.
