there's loads in the shops and I have bought a couple, but I can't help feeling like I am wearing maternity clothes again!

Oh yes the pixie boots!

sassari · 11/03/2007 21:30

lol isaidno. the 80's and 90's were a baaaaad time for style i reckon. 90's almost worse coz we all thought we were sooo much more stylish than the bloody awful 80's!

funny the comments about not being able to shop - i was pg for 3 yrs almost solid, so by the end of that, i only knew where to shop for maternity stuff! have had to re-train myslef to look at 'normal' stuff again lol.

princesscc · 11/03/2007 21:30

pixie boots!!! we used to throw midget gems into our french teachers pixie boots!

octopussyintummy · 11/03/2007 21:30

My hairdresser told me that they are going to stop calling them perms as sounded uncool - not sure of new name though LOL but he did say I would suit one!

liath · 11/03/2007 21:31

According to 10 years younger on TV perms are BACK - except they're better now (obviously) .

I'm starting to think that if you're old enough to see a fashion come around a second time maybe it's time to give up & shop in Country Casuals !

octopussyintummy · 11/03/2007 21:33

Liath - Oh Shit - I will really turn into my mother - dh said I always would

filthymindedvixen · 11/03/2007 21:33

princesscc and Willywonka - me too! (well, 12 in 82 anyway)I tried one on, lovely green colour but I think the gathered bit was in the wrong place for the norkically-challenged. I looked like a pregnant 11-year old (who'd had a hard life )

liath · 11/03/2007 21:35

Octo, I think I must be morphing into mine too seeing as I'm wearing 70s style maternity smocks! Aaaargh! Next thing I'll find myself in Jaeger.

isaidno · 11/03/2007 21:35

LOL fmv!!

Jumpers - the shop ROFL

willywonka · 11/03/2007 21:36

"Perms were wrong then and they're wrong now" said she with poker-straight-hair-that-would-never-take-a-perm-so-leaving-her-an-emotionally-scarred-small-haired-teenager-in-the-stupidly-big-haired-80's. Bitter, moi?

willywonka · 11/03/2007 21:37

LOL FMV !!

princesscc · 11/03/2007 21:38

and did we really think we looked good in leggings! I had maternity leggings for crying out load!!! I must had looked like i'd swallowed a space hopper! (those of you born post 82 won't know what one of those is!)

WelshBoris · 11/03/2007 21:40

Remember Sweater Shop?

Everyone had an awful patterned jumper from there.

willywonka · 11/03/2007 21:41

Jeans with white or red piping around the pockets and down the side of the leg. Those jumpers with a black background and brightly coloured picture of an animal (usually in fuschia, jade green or turquoise)...please don't bring any of these things back, they're not good for the soul.

princesscc · 11/03/2007 21:42

Oh god, my brother and his new wife bought me one of those god awful jumpers and I had to wear it all day! Oh the shame!

willywonka · 11/03/2007 21:43
filthymindedvixen · 11/03/2007 21:44

Batwings!!

willywonka · 11/03/2007 21:44

Really sorry, isaidno, we've turned this thread into an MN equivalent of one of those "I remember 1983" programmes...

princesscc · 11/03/2007 21:44

All those colours are back! I was in New Look yesterday and its all there. Bags, earrings, necklaces, all to match. I used to have a black skirt and I alternated my jumper in one of those colours and had tights to match. What was I thinking, jade green tights.

isaidno · 11/03/2007 21:45

I had a gorgeous reversible sweatshirt with 101 dalmatian design on it ....

OP posts:
willywonka · 11/03/2007 21:45

rofl fmv

princesscc · 11/03/2007 21:46

Yes, its a bit off isn't it? Should we butt out and start a thread of our own?

willywonka · 11/03/2007 21:46

Oh the value of reversible sweatshirts - they were as thick as duvets!
