Grin The navy floral is the best! Not sofa-like at all.

bigTillyMint · 06/05/2017 19:28

I looked for your other dress, but it is now all sold out.

Lalsy · 06/05/2017 19:31

OK, closer inspection reveals that the plain black and navy have the cut out - but on anyone taller than me it is probably OK.

Stropperella · 06/05/2017 19:49

Oh bummer, Lalsy. There is deffo no cut out in the floral one.

CointreauVersial · 06/05/2017 21:42

There's a skirt in that same fabric, Strops, which I am very tempted to buy. I tried it on when I was over in Ireland but didn't buy because of the exchange rate. Floral but not flowery.

wordassociationfootball · 06/05/2017 22:00

You're all dresses crepies. I mustn't get interested. Am in bed after being mostly out today. To my utter amazement, the DDS came with us to a stone and wood carving open day and we all made newspaper hats like Victorian carpenters and printers. Then I spent lots of time with dd2 so now know a Drake song and then I went to the big Sainsbos with dd1 and now have a nice swimming cozzie, although I wanted a tankini and seem to have been charmingly bamboozled into taking her for a cartiledge piercing tomorrow.

wordassociationfootball · 06/05/2017 22:02

MI Flowers for difficult day

BeachysSandyFlipflops · 06/05/2017 22:11

I would really like MIL to go to bed. Very bad DIL....

Dd1 has gone to a party dressed as Betty Spaghetti and looks amazing. Dd2 has arrived back from a school trip and has been glued to Instagram, like a coke addict who's been in a cave for a week and ds has a friend over...... I'm assuming that we are now switching from revision plan to 'oh shit cram' plan Grin

I hope today has been OK for you, MI Flowers

CointreauVersial · 06/05/2017 22:37

What a nice day, WAF - I love it when they "engage".

Not a bad DIL at all, Beachy. It's hard work..... Why don't you retire to your own bedchamber with a cuppa and something good to read, and leave MIL to her own devices?

DD1 is currently up in town celebrating a friend's birthday. DS told us she posted earlier on SnapChat, drinking champagne by the London Eye. Shock

IDismyname · 06/05/2017 22:51

Crem lovely link to that dress! I have a very similar one from Cos, bought on a whim, when I had my smash n grab session about 6 weeks ago in Kingston. The Cos one is in a stretchy poplin so v comfy, but without the pretty tie that this one has. Trouble is, I have to be 'vair' posh, and Im worried it's a bit too casual...? Am in Royal Enclosure.

The Monsoon box arrived yesterday, and I'm awaiting a box of stuff from Navabi, and a dress from Coast, too. I've also got out all the old Ascot stuff from the last 4 years, and I'm going to have the mother of all trying on sessions next week some time.

Then, I'm going to have the mother of all refunding sessions a day later.

Mrs S just reporting back to say gin is now plumped with a couple of boxes of raspberries and a bit more sugar. If all else fails, those raspberries will make one hell of a trifle. Your input is much appreciated. Thank you.

MrsSchadenfreude · 06/05/2017 23:27

Cloud, give it a couple of weeks with the raspberries - give the bottle a good shake periodically, then pour a bit out to taste. You may need a bit more sugar, or to just leave the raspberries in there. I leave mine in (I have raspberry and redcurrant gin) and pour it over ice cream, or add to a trifle, as you suggested.

My mother seemed a lot better and was still being pleasant. The pain seems to be less, and she is still not smoking. Hoorah - at least we don't come home stinking.

Auriga · 06/05/2017 23:40

Lost my post. Précis follows:

DH nearly crashed car with me & DD in it.
I had panic attack, had to get out and walk.
Ruined best day I've had health-wise for about six weeks.

DDog stole and ate an entire meat feast pizza. I would normally threaten to chop her up for cat food but we no longer have a cat Sad. Must remedy this, or my threats will lose all credibility.

Congratulations on positive appraisals and on being someone people aspire to work for, Stropps and MrsS.

I am too angry with DH to go to bed. Two glasses of wine have not helped. He says he didn't see other car. It was a huge white 4x4 blazing with lights. You could probably see it from the next borough Angry

herbaceous · 07/05/2017 01:27

Confused angry face re dp and car dp.

I am still up, and drinking and all sorts. Tryouts no tonsrite this has stretched
My capability Louie's to
Their limit. I think I may regret this on Monday.

IDismyname · 07/05/2017 06:29

Auriga Hope you're all OK this morning. A close friend had a similar near accident with not seeing another car. Had her eyes tested to discover that her peripheral vision was starting to go.
When did DH have his eyes tested? If he truly did not see the car...

Ha Herbs !! And how are YOU feeling today?? Sounds like it was a late one for you...

MrsS Rasberries, pomegranate, rosewater, gin and sugar. I mean, what's there not to like? I usually do my taste test just after breakfast. I find it sets me up for the day.

I made something called Redcurrant Shrub or maybe Shrubb from a River Cottage book a few years back. The whole thing semi set in the bottle. It was like some kind of pectin effect had happened. Most peculiar. I had to get rid eventually.

Off to my neighbours for drinkies at 12.30 today. I need to get any driving done before I go round. She mixes her G n Ts on a 50/50 basis. I plan to have a siesta this afternoon and bugger what anyone else says.

Auriga · 07/05/2017 07:12

Herbs, that post has a certain enigmatic quality. Hope that whatever has been strained to its limit is a bit more relaxed this morning.

Blackduck · 07/05/2017 08:15

Auriga hope you are okay?!
Ds of Alton Towers 'it was good but wouldn't do it again' - at least he isn't going to develop an expensive theme park habit....
birthday tea up the pub (landlady had her baby last night - waters broke 7.30, arrived by 10.00. I do wonder if her positive mental attitude had something to do with it)

I love that dress and may take a look in the flesh as its significantly cheaper than the one I was looking at.

MrsSchadenfreude · 07/05/2017 08:21

Auriga, hope you're OK. Agree with Cloud re eye test, although sometimes people just don't "see" things. Had this with DH and a woman in a bright orange high viz vest on a zebra crossing a few years ago when he didn't see her.

How's your head, Herbs? Grin

magimedi · 07/05/2017 08:22

Auriga - hope you are less shaken today. I would also insist on an eye test for your (D)H.

Herbs, I hope you are not feeling too bad this morning........ tiptoes away.

bigTillyMint · 07/05/2017 09:14

Auriga, how scary. I agree on the eye-test, if only to rule that out. Was he shaken too?
Is your dog a lab? Mine as a child used to steal all sorts of food!

Herbs, looks like you had a good night!

Cloud, in Royal Enclosure? Better make it a good outfitWink

WAF, you learnt a Drake rap? Whatever next? Skepta? Grin

Lalsy · 07/05/2017 09:40

Oh Auriga, how scary and worrying. How are you this morning? What a horrible thing to happen.

Herbs, yep, definitely, quite right Grin.

hattymattie · 07/05/2017 09:41

The big day today - off to watch DH vote.

Auriga - very shaking re near miss - hope you are feeling a little better today.

Cloud - Karen Millen have emailed me a bit campaign entitled Race Day Rules - it may be worth having a look.

I found a lovely never worn top at the back of my cupboard - tried it it looked brilliant up close and weird from a distance in the long mirror - hence my having rejected it. I cannot believe the difference.

wordassociationfootball · 07/05/2017 10:05

Capability Louie - sounds like an all purpose Clark's shoe; they all have such random word generator names, have you noticed.

Short run on knee was fine, I hope. Seems to be improving.

motherinferior · 07/05/2017 10:10

Hattie, all crossed here.

Auriga, the only thing I can say is that I know I did something similar a while back - though in my case it was more understandable (it's a tricky corner). And I did take ALL responsibility for it. I am so so sorry.

Thank you all for yesterday's wishes. Still wiped. This is v tedious. Holiday plans still creeping ahead, possibly in a different bit of Portugal as DP has found a lovely little place near Lisbon.

magimedi · 07/05/2017 10:40

Another one willing the French to vote for Macron.

MI - after my mother dies it took me 18 months to feel 'normal' & not utterly wiped. Be gentle with yourself & take things easy if you need to. Have you considered having iron & thyroid checked?

motherinferior · 07/05/2017 10:48

I have considered it but not done anything about it.Blush

I suppose the good thing is when I stop feeling like this I shall look/feel less crepey. Rather like having kids in your late 30s - there's a rejuvenating effect overall when they start sleeping better.Grin
