large nork advice needed, especially from teachers

I have size 34HH norks and am a secondary school teacher (not a good combination)

Here is my problem: I like wearing white as it is a good colour for me. However in the 11 years I have been teaching, I have never ever been able to wear white t-shirts or close fitting lightweight jumpers. The reason for this is of course in case nipples show. When I have worn them have stood in front of all classes with arms folded JUST IN CASE!

Have tries shoving bog roll/paper tissues down bra, but they just show through. Has anyone got any tips for this problem, without enlarging norks any further?

I always wear a dark coloured cardi or bodywarmer

brimfull · 09/03/2007 21:47

put smiley face stickers on your boobs..

sorry not very helpful
errm does a padded type bra (I know you don't need padding) like this might work.

Pixiefish · 09/03/2007 22:00

Yes, a colleague of mine swore by padded bras to stop embarrasing moments

fizzbuzz · 10/03/2007 07:26

LOL at smiley stickers,I could do that ggirl, but I thought tassles would be a stylish addition myself.

Unfortunately the bra you included doesn't go up to my size, or come in a nice safe neutral colour. Hot pink may be too OTT, IYKWIM.

Anymore ideas short of cutting them off?

My mate is in the same boat as you. She goes for the smart jacket over a close fitting light weight jacket.

colditz · 10/03/2007 07:34

breast pads?

MiaWallace · 10/03/2007 07:36

I remember my friends mum taping her nipples down Seemed to do the trick, but it might sting a little when you remove the tape

fizzbuzz · 10/03/2007 07:37

Like breastfeeding ones? That's an interesting idea

OP posts:
fizzbuzz · 10/03/2007 07:38

As is that Mia! What to tape them down with though? Heavy duty gaffer tape?

Does it help to wear a fleshtone bra rather than a white one?

colditz · 10/03/2007 08:25

Yes breast feeding ones. You can't see them under your clothes.

fizzbuzz · 10/03/2007 08:29

Alas no, colour of bra makes no difference to state of nips.

Will deffo investigate breast feeding pads, but God Forbid what if they pop out in lesson....in front of Y9

Flesh toned vest under your top (tightish vest helps keep the norks where they should be)
Am size 30J and taught sec until recently.Usually wore a jacket or dark top myself for work though!

CODalmighty · 10/03/2007 08:33

ah god yes i haev a LOT of experience on this
large norsk adn FLESH BRAS are th best
infact tot his day i dont haev patterned or lacey bras as a relic of htis

CODalmighty · 10/03/2007 08:34

i also haev a bra that is kind of double layeres incside( htis was kidn of not on purpose) have a look at those

yellowrose · 10/03/2007 08:35

White is a bad idea for big boobs. If you have to wear it wear a light jacket over it. In the summer unless there is a heat wave, a cotton jacket.

CODalmighty · 10/03/2007 08:36

unless your nipptles are dayglo i can imagine they can shine throguh this

fizzbuzz · 10/03/2007 08:41

Yes, already have my eye on that bra..but the problem is when it is cold IYSWIM!

Have gone down road of not wearing white in past, but am sick of it, and really want to wear it.

Jacket over top is a thought, but teach DT and have to be able to reach and stretch for stuff, and have always found jackets a bit restrictive

CODalmighty · 10/03/2007 08:42

yoiu can wear white

i always did
jsyut wear a flesh bra
it shows through less

CODalmighty · 10/03/2007 08:43

have you ever asked a collegaue if they catually DO show
OR buy a better wuality shirt or t hsirt

sassy · 10/03/2007 08:52

If you teach DT it's easy, surely?

Pinny on if you are food tech, lab coat effort if you are CDT.
Et voila!No norks!

fizzbuzz · 10/03/2007 09:11

I teach textiles...........no need for pinnys or labcoats........and labcoats are so unstlylish anyway

Perhaps I should turn my problem into a textiles project! That'd fox them....

OP posts:
yellowrose · 10/03/2007 10:14

Yes get them to design a textile to cover large nipples

yellowrose · 10/03/2007 10:22

Ah fizz, I have never worn white or big patterns on large boobs, nor T shirts with nothing over them. These make my boobs look bigger, I am a size 38 DD. Just my view. I prefer to wear colours that make them look smaller. I also see loads of big boobs in high neck tops. V necks and button down shirts are more flattering on big boobs.

MrsBadger · 10/03/2007 10:26

The more expensive the shirt the less of a problem this is - try TM Lewin (esp the Herringbone ones) or Thomas Pink but don't faint at the prices.

Or there's these but may not be suitable for every day...
