Are these shoes hideous?

Hello All

Am returning to work soon-ish from ML. I used to wear high heels no problem but since DD has been born I've lost the ability to walk in them Grin I ordered these online out of curiousity and they arrived today.

I envisage wearing them witj slim fitting black ankle grazer trousers. They might also possibly go with black opaques.

All my work clothes are still up in the attic so I've only tried them on with skinny jeans. They actually looked quite nice with ankle skinnies but I can't imagine I'll wear them with those.

Will I be thinking I look quite chic but people will be secretly sniggering thinking I look like Miss Marple?

Feel like I've lost my style mojo a bit since DD has been born so I would appreciate your thoughts. You can be brutally honest Grin

Thanks

LOOK HARDER, LOVE (I assume we are talking about the Miss Marple ones).

MamaHanji · 20/03/2017 19:49

Sorry but they are Thatcher/witch shoes!

MirenaCoy · 20/03/2017 20:58

'Thatcher witch shoes', good! That signals to everyone that OP is back from ML to kick ass.

BounceBounceSplishSplash · 20/03/2017 21:14

😂 I hope I'm still able to Mirena

That's true mirena! I wouldn't mess with someone wearing those bad boys!

MirenaCoy · 20/03/2017 21:39

OP of course you are able, you wuss! Grin

FunkinEll · 20/03/2017 22:13

Gucci-esq was my first thought.

Minnie747 · 20/03/2017 22:34

Like them!

Goforit2017 · 20/03/2017 22:39

I like both of them!

Goldfishjane · 20/03/2017 22:43

Nolottery "they lack any sort of sex appeal"

That's a factor for work shoes.....?!

Destinysdaughter · 20/03/2017 23:32

Well they are definitely NOT fuck me shoes, so why wear heels if they're not? Flats all the way!

BounceBounceSplishSplash · 21/03/2017 06:41

Destiny I don't wear heels because I want people to fuck me Confused

I'm sure we all had a pair of these in the 90s... I remember the cool girls at school being allowed them.

Basically, burn them, they are hideous OP, sorry.

However at 5"10, I am a fan of flats, flats look great with skinny jeans or ankle grazing trousers.

BounceBounceSplishSplash · 21/03/2017 08:17

Mooey these are 90s. Maggie Thatcher or the Queen Mum wouldn't have worn these Grin ( I don't think I did either back in the day)

Mooey is right. They are 90s. I had a very similar pair, although no gold bit.

Oblomov17 · 21/03/2017 09:14

1st pair are truely vile, sorry.

SleepFreeZone · 21/03/2017 09:20

I have no issue with either of them. It's all about context. The silver ones with three quarter length pale skinnier would look lovely. The black ones with work attire would look great. Have some confidence in your own taste!

knowler · 21/03/2017 13:13

I like both of your choices!! And those 90s shoes take me back - they would have been my absolute heart's desire for school :)

And Destiny - yeurgh! Way to spoil a chat about shoes Confused

MirenaCoy · 21/03/2017 13:25

Destinysdaughter So you think any woman going to work in heels is wearing them for sex? Or is it just ALL women that wear heels are wearing them for sex? What a strange unhappy world you live in.

BusterGonad · 22/03/2017 08:13

I quite like the Miss Marple ones, but I'm afraid I do not like the silver ones, imo the silver and white ones look far more aging than the granny chic Miss Marples! Grin

BusterGonad · 22/03/2017 08:16

Sorry, I've just caught up with the rest of the tread and I had the Miss Marple shoes in the 90s with a lower block hill, I wore them to work (in a supermarket) and loved them. That was when twin sets were trendy too.

BusterGonad · 22/03/2017 08:16

Heel not hill! Confused

Hoppinggreen · 22/03/2017 08:22

I think that the silver ones are ok

LobsterQuadrille · 22/03/2017 11:39

I love them!

BounceBounceSplishSplash · 22/03/2017 13:51

The shoes were returned this morning so the search for comfortable, walkable yet stylish granny chic Gucci-esque shoes continues Wink
