Herbs, I think you will win them over with your GSOH and ability to make positive relationships, both absolutely key skills in teaching. Plus the ability to take no shit - so key time to practice on your assertiveness with DPWink

Shit day today for DS in terms of his illness, but another good Mocks result, so why is he convinced that he will flop his GCSES?

NUFC69 · 09/03/2017 18:19

Well done, Herbs. It's amazing what the power of the Crepeys can do. Just need to sort out Crem, MrsS and BD now. Incidentally I am rather concerned about BD, has anyone heard from her? I know she said she was stepping away for a bit, but I would like to know that she's ok.

Crem, sorry to hear about the stupid woman and the cat.

We have booked a week's cruise of the Norwegian fiords in July: never been before so rather looking forward to it.

Fingers crossed that DS doesn't get too cold on his sleepout tonight - forecast isn't too bad.

NUFC69 · 09/03/2017 18:21

Cross posted. Sorry that DS has had a bad day, BTM, but good about the mock result.

bigTillyMint · 09/03/2017 18:23

NU, she is in the midst of meetings and work-crapnessSad

Thanks. It's such an awful illnessSad

herbaceous · 09/03/2017 18:28

I'm worried about BD too. She said something on Facebook about burning bridges, and I haven't seen her there since.

Re teenagers, I know they're lovely really. I got very fond of some of my sixth form ones. My temptation is always to go along with their japes, then it's very difficult to rein things in again. I shall have to calibrate my 'shit bar' at an appropriate level. There's a brilliant maths teacher at the school who manages to be good fun, but rule with a rod of iron at the same time. She used to be a TA!

Collymollypuff · 09/03/2017 18:56

Oh well done, Herbs!!! Maybe they will give you a tabard to wear on trips out.

BTM, despondency about GCSEs is probably sy,mptomatic of general gloominess. Sad

BeachysSnowyWellieBoots · 09/03/2017 19:04

Well done Herbs, that's fantastic news.

BTM, sorry today has been bad. I don't think they can quite believe when they get a good result, I think it's part of it really Sad

I had a pleasant run in with a strapping and gorgeous borehole engineer today Grin I'd dropped my phone at a woods car park and by the time I rushed back, there it was in his craggy hand. It was all very phroar and quite cheered me up!

Collymollypuff · 09/03/2017 19:17

A borehole engineer!

Oh, my. In the woods!

herbaceous · 09/03/2017 19:22

Borehole engineer? Surely a euphemism if ever I heard one.

Sorry to hear about DS, BTM. Is it a case of two steps forward one step back?

NUFC69 · 09/03/2017 20:04

Thanks re BD, BTM; tell her we were asking after her.

Lalsy · 09/03/2017 20:07

NU, how exciting. Do you sleep on the ship?

BTM, sorry ds has had a rubbish day.

Grin at borehole engineer joy

hattymattie · 09/03/2017 20:18

Grin at craggy handed borehole engineer.

BTM - it is a sign of your DS's strength of mind and his real potential that he is able to power on through his exams and get good results inspite of everything.

Crem - really rude woman about the cat.

Here, we've been doing Engish entrance tests for the international school. We seem to have a lot of French who've been living in the UK - Brexit effect?

MrsSchadenfreude · 09/03/2017 20:32

Congratulations Herbs! Yay!

I got my job too. Smile

Stropperella · 09/03/2017 20:38

Wowsers, MrsS! Fantastic! Are you off abroad?

Lalsy · 09/03/2017 20:39

Wooohooo MrsS. What a marvellous day for crepey vaulting over random young men... Well done.

Is it abroad?

hattymattie · 09/03/2017 20:43

Amazing - well done Mrs S - champagne for you tooWine. What a turn around for you both. Wre you off somewhere exotic?

An incredible crepey day. High fives all round.

MrsSchadenfreude · 09/03/2017 21:02

Yes, back to Forrin Parts!

Stropperella · 09/03/2017 21:03

Faraway forrin, or not so far?

bigTillyMint · 09/03/2017 21:06

Fantastic, MrsSWineCakeFlowers

So KOBO everyone - you will get there in the end. HopefullyGrin

Cremolafoam · 09/03/2017 21:19

Well done Herbs & Mrs S👏🏼

BeachysSnowyWellieBoots · 09/03/2017 21:21

Woo hoo, well done Mrs S.... when are you off? Or do they do these things yonks in advance?

NUFC69 · 09/03/2017 21:27

Congratulations, MrsS, whereabouts foreign?

Sorry, Crem, just realised that I missed you out of the 'new job' brigade. Two out of the four of you getting a new post is pretty good for one day; now we need a push for you and BD. Sends positive thoughts and vibes....

Yes, Lalsy, we do sleep on the ship; we have got a nice balcony cabin, so I am looking forward to gazing out of the windows from my bed as we sail the fiords.

wordassociationfootball · 09/03/2017 21:31

Hoorah Mrs S - tell us more.

I so know that japes followed by rein lack scenario, Herbs. If the nub of your gist is on show under your tabard, that could make all the difference.

bigTillyMint · 09/03/2017 21:43

NU, that trip is on my bucket listEnvy

DS has slightly cheered up at the thought of being able to play in a school footy match tomorrow.

magimedi · 09/03/2017 22:17

Congratulations, MrsS.

Like everyone else I am also aching to know where forrin you will be going.
