I could stand it no longer.

Collymollypuff · 17/03/2017 13:04

Thanks for your advice, MI and Lalsy. In fact I've just returned from sitting in my favourite window seat in my favourite cafe, where I've been slamming through the work. Grin Of course I have much more slamming to do, but have made a good start. I did not take the fucking dog, which I usually do. When dh came home (v late) last night, I ran through all concerns and he has addressed several. He is vv confident of getting another vv good job if made redundant, plus we would get a giant redundancy package, so I really must not worry, even though it would mean change, and he is a nightmare to have at home moaning about joblessness.

Also I have finally got some kind of response from the hospital about my minge, and have got an appointment on Wednesday. So that's nice. If it were cancer, they would have dashed about more to get me in quickly, so I am not vastly concerned, but it will be nice to have a discussion with the guy who did the rummaging.

Dd is on her way home en route for a concert in London, so I can ask her about FB.

hattymattie · 17/03/2017 15:02

Glad you have a discussion booked for your minge Colly and that you've addressed your fears with DH (even if the dog didn't get walked).

Hope all is good with the FB chat.

hattymattie · 17/03/2017 15:08

BTM - hope things are a little better today. Xx

bigTillyMint · 17/03/2017 15:08

Herbs, I'm afraid I'm not a very sturdy rock at times - sandstone maybe? But DH is graniteGrin

Molly, glad to hear DH is confident of bringing home the bacon, your minge is to be dealt with and you can check with your DD about your FB status!

I am feeling much better today as I slept 7 hours last night. Off to an appointment for DS now - he's not good, so I'm hoping they may look at different meds.

motherinferior · 17/03/2017 15:38

I am the sort of mother roundly slagged off on MN because I have bought After School Snacks. There was pretty well no food in the house and I feel 4pm on a Friday deserves a biscuit or even Bombay mix. Both of which we now have.

I have also rescued many different sorts of curry from the freezer for dinner. And bought poppadums.

Had phone chat for this job - no idea if I'll get it but did not make total twit of self.

BeachysSnowyWellieBoots · 17/03/2017 15:42

Good luck at the appointment, BTM. We are all wobbly here as well. I don't feel very granite at all.

Well done Molly on cafe achievement and minge talking..... lots done.

I have achieved very very little here today; lots of sitting on fat bottom doing nothing, but yesterday I put all my seeds in, so just a question of waiting for all the seedlings to pop up.

Montypulciano · 17/03/2017 16:18

I have spent a cheery afternoon grappling with a printer. It still doesn't work. Grrr.

Very sorry to hear of angst among the crepes supporting poorly boys - sending strengthening vibes across ether. Do look after yourselves as well as them. No one expects you to do everything and the Squad is always here for support, banter, hugs, cocktails etc as required. Hope the appointment goes well, Btm.

Dear Molly, so glad about your minge. Sending you a huge hug. Btw, I read beachy's minge talking a la bee gees jive talking which made me laugh.

One of the worst things about dh being redundant was the constant looming presence in the house. Fridays at home alone are a great treat and thankfully now restored to me for the time being.

Ds is going on cub camp up the road. I found the kit list and they all need to bring a cake to share. Wtf. Oh dear. I therefore need to leap to it and make some quick brownies. Back shortly.

Cremolafoam · 17/03/2017 16:23

Molly , glad there is minge and dh movement and management. That's great you have an appointment coming up.The dog will be fine.

Beachy, BTM , sorry to hear things rollercoatering. You may feel crumbly, but really you are both doing a Stirling job just keeping going.
We have visited sister and family to deliver birthday gifts to nephew.he was delighted with two 3kg weights (wtf?) and a bike computer. Well received. I have made flapjacks in the shape of nephews initials, which were also happily received.
I have come home to a single Rose grapefruit which I have magicked into pink grapefruit curd. It has turned out the best colour ever.
Have feet up now ( Basil Rathbone film) until we head off to Pizza Express with a Tesco boost voucher I have stashed somewhere. Hmm Semi successful relaxing day.
Beachy I would love to be planting , but we still have frost, and a chill north wind, so I fear it would be pointless until April.

Rosebag · 17/03/2017 17:01

We will be your rock, BTM and Beachy Flowers

Molly I am glad worries don't seem quite so acute today. Flowers

I would have to join the others on the "DH looming redundancy presence hatred" bench. We had this for six months and I was only a whisker short of homocide. I love my space and redundancy respects no boundaries.

I had a lovely day out with DH yesterday for our anniversary, as Facebookers will have seen. But stomach is playing up today something rotten. Have bought this newish product which is getting rave reviews and hope things will calm down as off to Brum tomorrow and overnight with DM and DS1, to hear DS2 sing bass in Haydn's Creation, this time will full orchestra. DS1 is a very moderating influence when I am getting close to strangling DM. I am very much looking forward to this (the concert not the strangulation Grin ...) but managing DM ...well this is probably the real cause of my irritable stomach.. Hmm

Today I have been observing a fellow teacher's class for new teaching ideas, and running DD back and forth. I have bunged a Klops and roast potatoes in the oven. I had better go and pack a bag....

hattymattie · 17/03/2017 18:09

MI - in France the whole country has after school snacks at 4pm sharp. It's called "le gouter" (there is an accent missing here which I cannot figure out on my computer).

IDismyname · 17/03/2017 19:14

Hello

I'm out of the Kingston One Way system with a new haircut.

(I've had almost 2 inches cut off, and not ONE person in this house has mentioned anything to me...)

I'm up for being a rock - for the time being, anyway. Feel free Crepeys - Colly, BTM et al... to rest your weary heads on my broad shoulders - or let me mix you a drink Wine.

I'm not in a good place, but survived dear family friend funeral this morning with DM. It was like Groundhog day - about 75% of the attendees had come to DFs Thanksgiving. Needless to say, we didn't go to the wake afterwards, and DM just about held it together (looking very Jackie O in her tinted sunglasses) and shaking like a leaf.

Alls calm in the house - I'm hoping the same calmness will continue into Sunday...

bigTillyMint · 17/03/2017 19:34

The meeting went OK, but served to show how ill he is againSad We are all hoping that the new meds will help.

Cremo, rose grapefruit curd sounds lovely. And flapjack initials!

Monty, is he at the fort?

Rose, hope you have a lovely family trip north.

Cloud, that sounds hard - well done. And no-one really notices at home when I have my hair cut eitherConfused

In S&B news, I had to send my patent heels back for a half size smaller, but the new ones are VERY tight at the front despite being wide, and my feet aren't especially wide usuallyAngry I have bought a shoe stretcher online, so fingers crossed.

MrsSchadenfreude · 17/03/2017 19:50

DD1's graduation from high school is when I am due to be overseas for work. This won't traumatise her forever, will it? (She says she doesn't care.)

Lalsy · 17/03/2017 20:02

Oh BTM....glad your dh is granite-like. Flowers for you and for Beachy.

Colly, that sounds better, though the uncertainty must be hard when you have other worries. And Cloud, you are having quite a time of it....no-one in my house noticed when I had a very drastic haircut that caused a friend to shake with laughter.

Rose, I thought you, and your tea, both looked fabby on FB.

I didn't know there were people who thought you shouldn't have biscuits after school on a Friday.

Just met ds off bus after trip when he is in charge of younger ones. I got to carry his vast pack. Those in teaching will like this: "It is very tiring being in charge - I haven't had a proper meal, sat down or slept for 24 hours. I am going to the loo now.". Grin

In S and B news, I need summer trousers but they are all funny shapes/made for tall people. Please send help.

Rosebag · 17/03/2017 20:12

Biscuit shaming...DS1 had a school friend whose mother, on a playdate said to me...."Oh...do you actually have biscuits in the house...?" Shock

BTM fingers crossed for the new meds regime helping DS. Flowers

Lalsy I have done well with either M&S or Next chinos that can be rolled up. I fancy the pink ones

a bit thicker fabric I think

Rosebag · 17/03/2017 20:13

MrsS if DD says it's ok, I would take her at her word...then you could always fly back as a surprise if work allows?

Lalsy · 17/03/2017 20:59

Oooh Rose, thank you. There is a Next near where I volunteer so I pop in there but can only ever find things in fabrics that my grandmother would have draped over her sugar bowl. I will try a bigger branch.

Can dh go, MrsS?

IDismyname · 17/03/2017 21:37

Lands End Summer Trousers

Any good Lalsy?

In other S&B news, I purchased 2 items from Cos today...

Dress

This is in the Navy

This looked lovely, but despite drapey and stretchy fabric, was cut too tight across the shoulders (apparently I wasnt the first person to comment)

Top

MrsSchadenfreude · 17/03/2017 21:45

Yes, Lalsy, he can go. Or rather, I can't think of any reason why he wouldn't be able to go. Grin I am thinking of tagging some time onto my visit and having a bit of a holiday. I quite fancy sitting on the beach with my book and ambling about in a mediaeval town. Weather will be good, so why not?

BTM, glad your DH is granite. And Gin and Wine for you and Beachy. And for Molly and her Minge.

Rose, the tea looked lovely. You make a very handsome pair. Ooh, klops. I was just thinking this evening about making klops as we haven't had them for ages.

Glad it's the weekend.

Yep. There at last.

bigTillyMint · 17/03/2017 21:50

Cloud, that top Dow look like it is for narrow-shouldered boobless women! Like the 2 you bought though.

Lalsy, online shopping is your friendWink Though I am getting sick of returning stuff for DD. And me!

Lalsy · 17/03/2017 22:14

Good thinking, Cloud and I like your Cos things. Yes, probably BTM, but I am fed up too, after the Great Cord Hunt.

MrsS, I think that sounds lovely.

wordassociationfootball · 18/03/2017 08:16

Hello Crepes.

God Cos clobber Cloud. Wish I was better at dresses. I always feel a bit 'where are my trousers?' In dresses, as so habituated. (A question Lalsy is asking again I see :) )

DH worriers - my dh has become a light and useful presence round the house and it's not as bad as I'd feared. Suppose I had to get used to working with him here as he is definitely not well enough to apply for anything Sad He has been depressed for a year and a half now. On meds and in therapy. Not granite.

Visit en famille to mum last night. Bedside with each one at a time. Tender but Mum not in responsive mode. She is not near the end yet. Minimally conscious and starting treatment for a UTI. Getting a bit chesty. Separate from the bedside stuff, there was squabbling, laughter, running around and enjoying a curry and a Magnum on the tube home. A very good visit and a gorgeous chat this morning with Dd1 about Granny and loving and her bringing her kids to see me when I'm old.

So basically we're not in the final 3-4 day descent yet.

IDismyname · 18/03/2017 08:56

WAF We have yet to meet, but I am a stauch trouser-wearer!
It's just when I find a dress that looks good and fits me (and my norks) then I get it.

I was encouraged on a COS thread a few months ago by people saying that the models on the website make everything look awful, and to go in and try stuff on... And yes, even if you have norks, there will be something for you.

Turns out they were right. Obv. Not everything suits, and there is an awful lot of black, but if you have one nearby (which I don't) then it's worth a visit.

WAF Shelia may surprise you and 'go' when she wants. The roller coaster of emotions through this period is very draining. Take very good care of yourself.

Colly YAY! To ongoing Minge Management. As you say,the NHS Only springs into action when there is something really wrong. Hope you are working your way through the workload.

I am back in bed as everyone else has gone out. Am home alone until about 3.30. Plan to strip some beds and go dancing.

Got dear nephew for an overnight stay later.

Oh, to have 8 year olds again. Life was so simple!

Lalsy · 18/03/2017 09:32

Smile At where are my trousers? Indeed. I wore dresses a couple of times last summer and was very like that.

WAF, what a rich and memorable visit, you will be so glad you did that.

Cloud, dancing?
