CV - Happy Birthday and I'd give it a couple of days to see if the poison works (at least it's been eaten, mine was ignored). After that get a man in. I once watched a programme about a man who goes round London with a Jack Russell which was very effective with rats.

Heartfelt thanks to all crepies who shared their mouldy feet stories - I don't feel like such a social outcast now and also maybe the French approach isn't overkill afterall. Great Style and Beauty Grin

Cloud - welcome back and so sorry to hear the story about DS's friend. Awful news, especially with one so young.

Not sleeping very well at the moment. This always happens during the holidays. Obviously I need a full on military type routine to keep me exhausted enough to fall into bed at night. The worst thing is I can't sleep at night but am desperate for a nap at about 2 pm, when I have no problem dozing off on the sofa.

herbaceous · 16/02/2017 11:28

I was in bed for 10 hours last night, and feel marginally less dead today. Though not much. Will be at parents' house tonight where I never sleep well, and then get woken by banging pipes at 6.30. I can't work out their heating timer to try and delay this rude awakening.

Off to lunch soon with chums to a cafe converted from a signal box! It's up high, overlooking the station, and you can watch trains and people come and go for hours.

NU - your tales of grandchildren blowing out candles with colds made me feel a bit queasy!

wordassociationfootball · 16/02/2017 13:07

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CV Grin

Apols for radio silence. Full on all last weekend with lovely birthday antics and now safely 50 Smile Also been doing more of that directing which is v fun but exhausting. Fam gone away til Sunday and I'm enjoying the silence although next door's builders are well noisy.

Crem, is there any possibility your magnesium is low? Long tern PPI use robs you of that as well as B12 and iron.

CointreauVersial · 16/02/2017 13:31

50th is tomorrow actually, as is WAF's (my birthday twin). I shall save your good wishes for then. I shall NOT be in the office.

A bottle of Moet and a card have arrived, courtesy of the FD. They're off the hook! Grin Wine

CointreauVersial · 16/02/2017 13:32

Oh sorry, WAF, thought you were tomorrow as well.

You're older than me - nerrr!

IDismyname · 16/02/2017 14:51

CV and WAF I shall warm up my cake emotion for tomorrow. 50 is a great age to be. Also an easy number to remember Grin

Just doing a tour of London Airports. Arrived at one. Waiting for DS at another. Costa is my friend.

Now dealing with disgruntled DM who thinks that has DS came home early, he should have made the effort for his grandfathers thanksgiving back in January.

I'm just NOT going to engage on that subject. No. I'm not.

motherinferior · 16/02/2017 17:43

DD1 appears to be going to a party. It was billed as a sleepover. Or I think it is a gathering so a party.

She made both DD2 and me tell her which of two rather similar baggy cotton trousers she should wear. With an extremely skimpy black top.

I feel really boring by comparison. I think I would like to drift around and hang out with my mates tonight...

Lalsy · 16/02/2017 18:07

MI, you are MUCH more interesting than any teen. And know how to have more fun. And drink proper drinks. Gatherings seem to involve more fun and less vomit/drama round this way.

Lalsy · 16/02/2017 18:07

Than parties I mean.

Cloud, welcome back!

hattymattie · 16/02/2017 18:28

MI - baggy cotton trousers are good - at least it wasn't very short skirt and skimpy top.

Had a lovely lunch with friends - one has had her eyes done and is bruised and wearing dark glasses in the manner of a film star.

DS - is making fish free sushi for dinner - I don't quiet trust him with the raw fish just yet.

Apparently, Trump has just announced that Flynn lost his job because of a dishonest media - nothing to do with his actions then.

Lalsy · 16/02/2017 18:35

Trump sounds deranged, rambling, incoherent. Rogue POTUS worth a follow on twitter.

Collymollypuff · 16/02/2017 18:56

Should I go and see Tiger Lion? Friends are going.

So sorry about ds' friend, Cloud. I think I saw and liked his blog on FB? Sad

BeachysSnowyWellieBoots · 16/02/2017 19:06

You should Molly, if only to swoon over Dev Patel......

Cremolafoam · 16/02/2017 19:34

Is that #SCROTUS ? Lalsy v funny. Trump is both borderline psychopath as well as narcissistic. Terrible combination. He like to pout if he doesn't get his way. It would be very funny if it didn't affect millions of people.Hmm

Waf, I wonder about the magnesium. I will get advice at the doc tomorrow. Yesterday I thought, ooh I don't feel too bad today. Today I am a wibbly wreck and had to go back to bed this afternoon. Am right pissed off about it.
Have been emailed 3 job ads by well meaning friends, but I just can't get the strength together to think about applying.
Waf very pleased that you are enjoying the directing. Happy birthday for last week my love ❤️ Cake

Have browsed the offerings of TU chez Sainsbo and found it wanting. A bit dull. Have you seen anything recently Herbs?

Lalsy · 16/02/2017 19:58

No, it is Rogue Potus Staff (lots of insiders from agencies etc have set up rogue accounts to offer resistance - wonderfully a National Parks official started the rot. To be treated with caution obviously but RPS looks pretty accurate...)

Oh Crem, hope doc can help.

Waves at WAF.

IDismyname · 16/02/2017 21:02

That adds up, Colly... I only have one very very ill teenager on FB.

I wish I had all healthy ones.

DS got dropped off to see DFriend around 3 and has just arrived home. I think a group of them spent a few hours at the hospice, then retired to nurse a pint (or 6) at the local pub. He's busy knocking up some 'proper' food with the meagre contents of my fridge.

He tells me that all the French boys he met could 'just knock up a roast without thinking about it'.

I'm terribly impressed with French mothers and plan to rectify the situation this side of The Channel as soon as possible. We will be knee deep in roasts.

Collymollypuff · 16/02/2017 22:31

Can I just say, Cloud, that your dmum's comment, quoted above, makes you a true member of the Crepey squad? How could she? Thanks

Lalsy · 16/02/2017 22:51

Yes, indeed. And good idea about not engaging.

Top idea on the roast front though...

MrsSchadenfreude · 16/02/2017 23:41

We have had one of DH's friends over for dinner. He is one of those people for whom nothing has gone right in life and none of it is his fault. He has just moved out of his mother's house and in with his girlfriend. He is 48. She must either be deaf or he is hung like a donkey with the stamina of an ox.

MrsSchadenfreude · 16/02/2017 23:43

It was an evening I will never get back.

On the subject of mice, we had a meeting in our office canteen earlier this week, and the mice seemed to be holding a mega convention of their own. Or it was a wedding or a party.

Dh's friend sounds adorable, MrsS. Grin

Lalsy and others, Newsnight was fab on both Trump's press conference and the film Moonlight - an amazing programme, catch it on catch up if you can.

Thanks re Lion advice, Beachy. Thanks

Oh Rudy :(. Sorry to hear - I vote for go if you are not going to spend all your time thinking about shitstorm....

I feel hideous this morning - tired and banging headache.....

motherinferior · 17/02/2017 06:51

*HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!
*
Rudy, if you can, just go.

BeachysSnowyWellieBoots · 17/02/2017 07:00

Happy birthday CV again....StarFlowers

Mrs S, Dh has a friend like that and he is hung like an ox.... doesn't seem to have found him a girlfriend though. And he's 53 and a born again Christian, so they might be mitigating circumstances!

I would go, Rudy....
