Yeah, I think we can do better too......

SHL= Shit Hot Lawyer

Acronym from Relationship boards.

MrsSchadenfreude · 28/02/2017 07:19

How much do you want to spend? One of my regulars is Bianco 43 on Northumberland Avenue - it does the best pizza and coffee in London and has a range of other Italian food if you don't want pizza. Not expensive.

We also had a surprisingly good lunch at Belgo the other week.

La Barca at Waterloo is good, but a bit spendy. We also had a really good meal at Waterloo Bar and Kitchen the other week.

Brown's is usually good, but noisy.

I'm on for good pizza!

hattymattie · 28/02/2017 08:23

Works for meSmile

Lalsy · 28/02/2017 08:28

I've just done an online reservation for Bianco 43 Trafalgar Sq for 10 people on 25 March at 7.30 - is that OK?

(can easily cancel if not and will cancel Bush place).

hattymattie · 28/02/2017 08:30

Sounds perfect. Thank you so much LalsySmile

GiddyGiddyGoat · 28/02/2017 08:32

Thanks Mrs S and thanks Lalsy!
Sounds good to me...

Lalsy · 28/02/2017 08:35

No, all credit to MrsS and BTM for getting us started with several suggestions. I have merely pressed a couple of buttons.

BTM and Beachy, how are your dss this week?

MrsWobble3 · 28/02/2017 09:37

I'll join in. I still need to let dh know - shouldn't be a problem but don't want to tell him right now as he's being grumpy. Understandably as I've blown him out for dinner tomorrow night on the grounds that I've got three work dinners this week and it was the only night I could rearrange my gym session to.

I'm sure he'll be fine about it, but probably not right now.

herbaceous · 28/02/2017 09:45

Information is emerging, via female partner of other friends at DPs' boys night in, of the details of the evening/night/morning, and why none of them were in any kind of fit state for the rest of the weekend.

Why DP couldn't just say what had gone on, and he was exhausted and sorry he was being shit, rather than totally ignoring me for an entire weekend and causing ConcertGate? Gives me the RAGE. This happens a lot. I spend the weekend wondering how bad it would be if we split up, working out what sort of flat I could afford on my own, etc...

He is being noncommittal about paying for DS go to Paris with his choir. I think it is an unmissable experience he's unlikely ever to get the chance to do again, so even if it bankrupts me I shall be taking him.

Another one for the 'reconsideration bench' at the moment.

motherinferior · 28/02/2017 09:48

Herbs, while it will be a fab experience believe me if he sticks with music there will be a lot of trips.Grin

MrsW, I know that scenario well. I think it can be summed up as: Don't Poke The Bear.Grin

herbaceous · 28/02/2017 09:51

I know, but the choir only goes abroad once every ten years or so. It regularly sings in other major UK cathedrals though. York in August!

And we've got friends in Paris we can stay with, one of whom is a boy DS's age who he loves.

herbaceous · 28/02/2017 09:58

I should add that the choir will be singing in the Sunday morning service at Notre Dame, in front of a full congregation. So, quite a big deal!

hattymattie · 28/02/2017 10:21

I'm actually intrigued about what went on now

Paris should be fab Herbs and the choir is a good excuse to visit.

Very remiss of me not to have also thanked BTM and Mrs S for fabulous restaurant suggestions.

In the mundane - Mrs W - did you unshrink your viscose? I'm looking at a shirt that appears to have shrunk and wondering whether to wash and pull.

motherinferior · 28/02/2017 10:24

Wow YES to notre dame!

Collymollypuff · 28/02/2017 10:34

So sorry I won't be able to make 25 March, but MrsS has taken me to Bianco in the past, and it was fabulous.

Crem, I hope you can get your health sorted out so that you're in fine fettle by then. Thanks

magimedi · 28/02/2017 10:58

I am feeling grumpy as it is a fabulous day here (first one in some time) & I have to go and spend the afternoon doing a speed awareness course. What really rankles is that we got the summons &, as neither of us could remember who was driving, we tossed for it & I lost. (No use asking for photo as it was a rear view camera). I am expecting a top notch dinner ce soir!

Crem, I hope you get your meds sorted & you feel better soon.

Herbs - why is your DH being so mean about the Paris trip? Sounds like the chance of a lifetime.

herbaceous · 28/02/2017 11:04

I'm not sure why he's being so tight-fisted. He worries about money, and we have spent a bit recently, and he is paid less than he used to be, but for a chance like this it's worth racking up the credit cards surely.

I've just told the organiser that DS will be coming. I'll go with him on my own and pay for it, if necessary.

motherinferior · 28/02/2017 11:34

Please tell me not to look at ANY MN threads about fat, food and eating. I find them very upsetting and they make me cry. Thank you.Flowers

herbaceous · 28/02/2017 11:44

DO NOT LOOK AT ANY FATNESS THREADS MI. By their very nature, they're going to be full of people with issues flagellating themselves because they allowed an Oreo thin past their lips a fortnight ago.

In Paris news, I announced (via email) to DP that DS is going to Paris, and that I will pay if necessary. He responded immediately, agreeing that I was right and apologising for being so shit. And just as I was working myself up into righteous anger, too. Still, doesn't negate the 80% of the time he totally ignores me...

motherinferior · 28/02/2017 12:13

I have just ordered two (2,ii) Enormous Bras from Brastop for a very reasonable price. Grin

GiddyGiddyGoat · 28/02/2017 12:41

Of course you should avoid such threads like the plague MI. - but I think you know that... Hmm

Lalsy · 28/02/2017 13:16

MI, this happened last week didn't it? [Looks severely over glasses]. Step away from them - if they make you feel bad, they are damaging, even if they work for others. Do what works for you, like ladyjogging.
