Am loving that there are so many CTM lovers amongst us - I have been a fan since it first started and have read the book Blush

Cloud, glad your DS has been able to get support from friends as well as you, and good wishes to your friend. No idea what SHL is - hope it goes well!

DS has gone off to school - I am hoping this week goes smoothly, although he may get mock marks/grades back...

Lalsy · 27/02/2017 08:31

Another CTM fan here - I thought the books were good, BTM, solid social history if not brilliant literature (as you would expect). I was struck by the non-judgemental attitudes in the book (eg towards the elderly couple who turned out to be brother and sister and the Boer War guy) - I assumed it had been more sanitised psychologically for TV.

motherinferior · 27/02/2017 08:35

Right. I have conducted a Ladyjog and am thinking good thoughts for Charing X: I am about to pore over maps of 1842 madras. I am not in truth very good at that sort of thing but it must be done.

Lalsy · 27/02/2017 08:36

Me too re Charing X. I hope for the best possible outcomes for your friend, Cloud. Enjoy the sea.

BeachysSnowyWellieBoots · 27/02/2017 08:52

Thoughts for Charing Cross Flowers

If you're coming near my bit of sea, come and have a coffee!

Cremolafoam · 27/02/2017 11:41

Thinking good thoughts for your friend and awarding Honorary Crepey status for op and recovery.FlowersFlowersFlowers
Rudy, i dreamed about you last night. Hope dust settling over outlaw shitstorm.Flowers

I have made contact with man who has dachshund puppies and a lady who has a black kitten to rehome gotta get out of this slump I am in.

NUFC69 · 27/02/2017 11:41

Good wishes from me to your friend, Cloud, too.

Sorry your not so DMum is up to her usual tricks, MrsS.

How are you this morning, Herbs? I hope things with DP are on a more even keel. And love the idea of DS going to sing in Paris.

Crem, has your thyroxine started working now?

Good luck with DS this week, BTM.

I have just made an appointment to have four new crowns which will tidy up the front of my mouth after the dental disaster I had back in November. That will be £2,500 so am having a bit of a wibble, tbh.

It was lovely and sunny first thing so I hung out the sheets, etc., on the line - now about to rain.

hattymattie · 27/02/2017 11:49

Cloud - your nearest and dearest seem to really be going through it at the moment. Sending best wishes to your friend in Charing X.

Mrs S - your DM sounds very manipulative and really doesn't hold back does she.

Crem - sending hugs - a dachshund and a kitten will keep you on your toes.

NU - what happened to your teeth in November? One day I'll get crowns on my front teeth I think. One of the reasons I had braces was that my front top teeth were being worn out by rubbing against my bottom teeth and becoming more and more transparent. You'll feel great afterwards - worth the investment and the price of a holiday.

Teacher in a foul mood today but it did mean that the class actually knuckled down and did some work. Never seen them so quiet.

Rosebag · 27/02/2017 12:10

Positive and healing vibes to Clouds friend.

Also good luck to BTM's DS for today and all week.

Crem How are you?

WAF Flowers Let us know when you feel you can post...

MrsS Your DM is true to form, I'll give her that. Sorry she's so hyper critical. It says way more about her issues that yours. You have been a good daughter. Flowers

I have brain fog. Full marks to DH who gave me a foot massage last night. I wept buckets at CTM last night. I always do. But I'm particularly primed at the moment. Can't get DFriend out of my mind. Sad

Ah well, I have nevertheless spent the morning proof reading some of Dd's work at her request. She really doesn't make a bad stab at it and is on a bit of a high, having got her marks for a particular module...her first distinction.

Other news...the hush linen knit is very lovely to wear...the colour is a bit more coral than true pink, which is not really one of my colours but I love the lightweight feel of a fine knit. It is a bit see-through though...but I have a flesh coloured vest which might work underneath.

Going to see Sex With Strangers at Hampstead tonight...Perhaps I will have perked up by then...Hmm Now, I am going to mail my script to two very high powered literary depts in well known theatres. I expect they will wipe their bottoms on it...but nothing to lose, eh.

addle · 27/02/2017 14:03

Good luck, Rose and also BTM ds

Good thoughts fr Charing Cross, Cloud

Never seen ctm - missing out. Will try

Take care everyone

Cremolafoam · 27/02/2017 14:07

Aw Rose, I know that feeling only to well ( of being quite close to the brink of tears) I think I am probably in the zone as well. I feel like Im not getting anywhere at the minute.Just about staying afloat. I am quite sure it's the hormonal aspect of the hypothyroidism, but I haven't felt quite this low in a while. Everything is a slog. The house is falling down round us after that last storm. Lots of rubbish blown in to the garden.
Blah blah blah. Hate also being a big whinge. NU thyroxine hasn't had any effect yet. I live in hope.
Tried to walk in the sunshine this morning but had to come back as so tired.
Sad

Rosebag · 27/02/2017 14:16

Crem do you think they haven't got the dose quite right? Flowers

Lalsy · 27/02/2017 14:28

Oh Crem, when was the last time you felt really well? Flowers

NUFC69 · 27/02/2017 15:44

Right, Crem, what dose of thyroxine are you on? Have you been retested since you started taking it (though it probably needs a month). I started at 50 mcg, but ended up on 150 mcg within months, although I felt a rush within a week. Please go back and see your doctor.

Hatty, when we went away in November my migrating (i.e. Rotating in the gum) front crown came out whilst I was eating. It's on a very short post - anyway, long story short is that we have decided to replace the crowns round about it, too, and do a proper job of it. Aaah!

Cloud, any news on your friend? And I am sorry that you are still sad, Rose.

herbaceous · 27/02/2017 16:20

Man alive, spectacular hailstorm here. Seems to have sent the kittens even more batshit mental then normal. My legs were already a mass of scratches, thanks to them using me as a tree, but now I have flesh hanging in ribbons.

Marital relations here frosty. He was pretty much silent when he came back from his boys night out, pre ConcertGate, but has barely spoken to me since. Usually I can't bear the atmosphere so crack first, but feel a new dynamic is called for. I've put up with sulks and 'not my thing's for a quiet life, and as I can't be assertive and he can be nothing but defensive. But when DS is involved, I'm not outting up with it any more.

Crem - I do wish the medics would get you sorted. You seem to be wading through treacle so much of the time.

Cloud - now idea either what an SHL is, but anything with a TLA (three-letter acronym) has to be good.

WAF - hope all is bearable on the mother front.

hattymattie · 27/02/2017 16:30

Go Rose -I'm sure your script is fabulous.

Crem - here's hoping they get you sorted. I've been trying to explain to DS - who never moves a muscle unless he has do - that he should appreciate his youthful vigour. Wasted on the young!

Herbs - your young man looked fabulous on FB. How can his dad not be moved by that?

Right, better crack on with some food.

bigTillyMint · 27/02/2017 19:18

Just emailed Zedel, but no tables till 9.30 which is too late for those needing to get backSad
I have emailed Jamie's Italian to see if they would have a table, but maybe someone else has a better suggestion?

hattymattie · 27/02/2017 19:41

Crikey - can't believe it's all booked up so far in advance. Jamie's Italian is fine by me BTM. Thanks for looking into it.

herbaceous · 27/02/2017 20:00

If we're in that neck of the woods, maybe we could do Chinatown? Or criterion? I wasn't c impressed with Jamie's when I sampled his Stratford branch...

Lalsy · 27/02/2017 20:05

What about above that tree pub (near Waterloo)?

bigTillyMint · 27/02/2017 21:18

I'm happy to go anywhere!

Could people with other suggestions see if it would be possible to get a table that night and then we can see if there is one we would prefer - I'm afraid I haven't got the time or energy to chase ant other options, but am very happy to go anywhere Smile

Lalsy · 27/02/2017 21:25

I have emailed bush place and will report back. Am also happy to go anywhere.

Lalsy · 27/02/2017 21:26

Herbs, that FB vid. Some massive great lump in my throat.....

Lalsy · 27/02/2017 22:28

Bush place has space, upstairs in the private room if a big group doesn't book it, downstairs if they do. I have said we will let them know.

GiddyGiddyGoat · 27/02/2017 22:41

The location is good - but the food we have had in that upstairs room... i think we can do better. I'm thinking....
