Is it too early for a spring clothes thread?

I know it is. There's snow forecast this afternoon. BUT it's been Christmas, I've been skiing and I'm bored of winter now. I've had enough of all my jumpers. I'm looking forward to 7/8 trousers, shoes that show my feet and jackets. Anyone got their eye on anything? Anything to look out for?

I want to try these www.meandem.com/grosgrain-stripe-pant but I have just broken my leg and am in a full leg cast, which is a bit inconvenient when it comes to trying on new clothes Smile.

Swimminguphill · 13/02/2017 16:31

Ooh lovely trousers Ponks, sorry about your leg though! Perhaps you can save up and get them as a 'getting out of cast' present?

Ponks · 13/02/2017 17:21

Good idea swimming , something to look forward to after six weeks in baggy sweatpants!

RemusLupinsChristmasMovie · 13/02/2017 18:46

Thanks, Sesame but am not a fan of Uniqlo and want more 'body' to my jumper, if that makes sense?

I like that Cos khaki one.

Hopefully · 14/02/2017 07:26

Love that Cos jumper. Really need to make the effort to get to a shop, it's so hit and miss fit-wise for me.

taybert · 14/02/2017 10:42

Flo that jumper says it's machine washable or were you just worrying about general robustness?

I'm looking at the 7/8 Hampshire trousers from Boden. Cos I'm rock and roll.

I want T-shirts and flat shoes but not ballet pumps.

Floisme · 14/02/2017 17:54

So it is! I'd just assumed the silk content meant delicate wash cycles and lots of ironing. Thanks Smile

The Boden Richmond crop wide legs are on my long list too - but they don't look quite slobby enough.

Swimminguphill · 14/02/2017 19:00

I tried the richmond crop in a denim fabric last year and thought they were frumpy on me but might look smashing on others. Stuck with cigarette trousers for work & boyfriends for play

Floisme · 14/02/2017 19:18

Thanks Swimming - I think they're probably a bit too tailored anyway. Not that there's anything wrong with tailored trousers but it's not quite the look I'm after.

Swimminguphill · 14/02/2017 19:35

Just saw an achingly trendy 20 something in really flowy black crops at my train station, maybe that's the way forward?

Swimminguphill · 14/02/2017 19:36

The Richmonds gave me a front pooch which I resented as I don't have one!

RemusLupinsChristmasMovie · 14/02/2017 19:40

Has anybody seen this Warehouse dress irl? I really like it, although fear it may be somewhat sack-like on me.

Swimminguphill · 14/02/2017 20:08

ooh floisme what about these black crops?

Hopefully · 14/02/2017 21:15

Remus I haven't but I am planning to order to try in the near future! Tell me how you imagine styling it, I think I follow you on Pinterest and I like the things you pin!

Judydreamsofhorses · 14/02/2017 21:35

I would like some slightly cropped, slightly flared jeans - possibly actually straight, not flared, just not skinny - to wear with trainers. Preferably in black. I am really hankering for bare ankles at the moment, and also to get my dungarees on (they don't work on me with boots). It is far too cold here yet though, I am still in faux furs. (Even just getting the biker jacket back on would feel like a victory.)

RemusLupinsChristmasMovie · 14/02/2017 21:49

Probably the same as I wear most things tbh. Opaques, ankle boots and a biker jacket or denim jacket in Spring and then bare legs and Converse if it gets warmer. Would depend on the length though and whether or not it makes me look like 'a sack of spuds tied up in the middle' as my grandad used to say!

Floisme · 14/02/2017 21:59

Thanks Swimming - I really want cotton and not black but yes kind of floppy and relaxed like in that pic. I also can't go too wide as I'm quite short.
I'm starting to remember why I gave up on trousers a few years ago - cos I could never find what I wanted. But I'm sold on the idea now.

Love the colour of that dress Remus - would really need to see it on.

boldlygoingsomewhere · 15/02/2017 08:13

Swimming, I like those black crops! Not sure if that style would suit me but I'm tempted to give them a try.

Swimminguphill · 15/02/2017 08:22

boldly let us know how you get on if you order. I like that they are paper bag style but more relaxed and therefore hopefully forgiving??

Swimminguphill · 15/02/2017 08:23

Remus I don't think you can go wrong with a shirt dress...

taybert · 15/02/2017 17:37

I quite like these as basic slim trousers but cos so might be a bit long trousers

I've been looking at shirt dresses too, they feel like they could be good spring wear but my bare legs only really come out in summer and I'd quite like to ditch the opaques!

Been waiting for spring. So bored of winter and liking nothing in the shops. Thank you for this thread!

Bought this today http://m.newlook.com/shop/womens/tops/black-cut-out-frill-trim-long-sleeve-top-508969801?isRecent=truee__

Really liking it. White one too but only online.

I also bought these but they are very very short. Not sure if I am keeping._

I'm 5ft 1 so short is bad!

That Cos skirt is beautiful Smile

ImYourWomanJonSnow · 16/02/2017 21:43

I'm waiting for the delivery of my first ever purchase fromNext. www.next.co.uk/g50254s2

I also bought a clasic trench coat from APC (an ebay bargain), hope to wear these two together with jeans or jersey dresses. www.pourseloun.fr/femme-apc-trenchcoat-en-coton-manteaux-p00164308/p_3261/

Floisme · 17/02/2017 09:07

Love that New Look frill top though too high necked for me. Your outfit looks really cool JonSnow.

I'm still hunting cropped cotton trousers with a high slouch factor and getting Sad Lots of extreme wide leg polyester or badly cut chinos that balloon around the crotch. Or too tailored. Cos almost nail it but wrong colours. So edging ever closer to Toast. I don't mind paying to get them right (she sobs) - it just won't leave much over for anything else. But then I don't buy much anyway once all the summer shite is in.
