Is it too early for a spring clothes thread?

I know it is. There's snow forecast this afternoon. BUT it's been Christmas, I've been skiing and I'm bored of winter now. I've had enough of all my jumpers. I'm looking forward to 7/8 trousers, shoes that show my feet and jackets. Anyone got their eye on anything? Anything to look out for?

I want a white or pastel biker jacket . Smile

Swimminguphill · 12/02/2017 17:00

Hmm biker jackets... I saw a nice navy leather one on here from Sainsburys but then I had a wobble. Are they too ubiquitous? What's next? I'm not going to lie, I totally bought into bikers as a trend rather than my natural homeland of clothing and as I was described by my manager as "Amazonian" last week (why? Why would you do that?) I am aware I can only pull off certain types without looking like an actual biker. Which is great if that is the look you are going for but in my case it isn't. But that's my long winded way of saying what other casual jacket shapes/styles are people looking at for spring?

Swimminguphill · 12/02/2017 17:01

And re. Pleated skirts, I look like I'm wearing my nanna's lamp shade

WicksEnd · 12/02/2017 17:12

I think a dropped waist pleated skirt would be a better look. Bit of structure. But not so much the pleats stick out. No idea if such a thing exists! But it should!
I've got my eye on the wide legged cropped jumpsuit from Hush but I'm hanging fire in case they do a ss17 discount code.
Also want some decent flatform shoes, but without a white sole as my silver KG ones from last summer look shite now.

Swimminguphill · 12/02/2017 17:15

Agreed actually! I do have a sort of pleated chiffony one but it work because it's seen down until mid hip

Swimminguphill · 12/02/2017 17:15

*sewn down

I bought these pumps yesterday with some silicone heel grips.

RemusLupinsChristmasMovie · 12/02/2017 19:39

Love those, Fluffy. Will definitely try those on, although M&S shoes often too wide for me.

Saurus72 · 12/02/2017 20:00

Oh thank goodness. I bought nothing in January which I'm very glad about, but I can feel the urge to buy something new and lovely building up. But! I am trying very very hard to be judicious in my spending and not buy a load of random crap that doesn't go together. These are on my list thus far - not exciting, or daring, or adventurous, but I know (based on things currently in my wardrobe that I have worn and worn - plus being over 40, I know what I realistically will wear) that they will make good additions to my wardrobe:

Blue silk dress: www.jigsaw-online.com/product/text-anarchy-kimono-dress/J32340_BL136

Printed midi dress: www.jigsaw-online.com/product/deconstructed-typo-wrap-skirt/J32347_BL134 - can see myself wearing this with a white shirt or a navy t-shirt, both of which I already own, hurrah!

Whistles cross-body bag - LOVE, but expensive and don't strictly need. But the want is strong in this one. www.whistles.com/women/sale/bags/duffy-zip-shoulder-bag-23893.html?dwvar_duffy-zip-shoulder-bag-23893_color=Dark%20Red#start=1

Cos skirt - Not sure about it, obviously would need to try before ordering because Cos madness www.cosstores.com/gb/Women/Skirts/Wrap-over_jacquard_skirt/7086-61122666.1#c-22755

Thanks for letting me organise my thoughts - an expensive list but not too long...Grin

Saurus72 · 12/02/2017 20:01

Duh, midi skirt, not dress

RemusLupinsChristmasMovie · 12/02/2017 20:17

LOVE that Cos skirt.

RemusLupinsChristmasMovie · 12/02/2017 20:21

Quite like the look of grey jumper. Anybody seen irl? A pity that the colour choices are so poor.

JohnCheese · 12/02/2017 20:40

Ooh love the Cos skirt! Will try on next weekend.

I know it's Zara, I know it's polyester, but I like this jacket. Tried it on last week, it's nice but the sizing is really big. Medium was really big, I'd need a small - unheard of (for me) in Zara.

Swimminguphill · 12/02/2017 20:50

Interesting JohnCheese I might buy just to be able to say I owned something from Zara in small! However as I am tall I find they are never broad enough across the shoulders and also short in the arms?

JohnCheese · 12/02/2017 22:04

I know Swimmingup, Zara fit can be odd. My broad-shouldered slim friend can't find anything to fit in Zara. Meanwhile, I, with my smaller shoulders and slightly erm rounder shape, will be buying a small in Zara. Granted a one-off small. I really like Zara for jackets.

They also had <a class="break-all" href="http://m.zara.com/ie/en/-c358002p4136061.html#utm_referrer=www.google.ie/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">this jacket. Screams Zara but it's kind of nice (in a mediumHmm). I'll think about. Colours are good in it, blue pink, navy threads. Fringing is a bit out there but it's worth looking at.

CountFosco · 12/02/2017 22:18

So far I've bought a gorgeous silk batwing top in blush from Jigsaw in the sale, a pair of Stan Smiths, a midnight blue leather jacket, a grey smock dress and a denim mini skirt, all the sales but for the spring. All worn already except the skirt which arrived yesterday and will be worn on Friday probably.

I need some more tops and a nude bra. Tempted by some loafers but since I've just had a shoe clearout and still have 30 pairs I'm not convinced they are entirely needed didn't stop me buying the Stan Smiths and asking for sequined Converse for Christmas

Swimminguphill · 12/02/2017 22:31

JohnCheese that other jacket is lush!

CountFosco good haul! I did think a lot of the pinkish tops in the sale could easily do for spring. ah spring! Where are you???

eurochick · 12/02/2017 22:32

Saurus, I think we are taste twins. I love that jigsaw dress and the Cos skirt. They are both very "office me".

SesameSparkle · 12/02/2017 23:25

Remus, did you ever consider the uniqlo merino jumper in your search? It comes in light and dark grey, and is a very soft, light wool in real life.

madmomma · 12/02/2017 23:35

I want some side fastening trousers in a pale colour. Flat fronted. And some heeled dolly shoes to put with day dresses. So bored of boots.

Floisme · 13/02/2017 09:39

Loving all the links. Mine will look a bit dull I'm afraid. I'm not doing pretty this year - the devil will be in the shape and how stuff hangs on me.

This Cos jumper looks nicely slouchy and the V-neck looks quite deep, which is what I'm after. A cotton-silk mix sounds too faffy, care wise but hopefully they'll be doing a pure cotton/linen version.

And these Toast cotton trousers are the closest I've seen so far to what I'm after but they may be too wide legged for me as I'm quite short. These slimmer leg ones might work better on me.

I'm hoping to find cheaper but I've got a bad feeling. They've got to be all cotton and they've got to slouch. There are a couple of possibles in Cos that are half the price but I'm not keen on the colours.

PNGirl · 13/02/2017 12:01

Spring - yep, I'm on board. Summer - not so much. I hate summer clothing and have arms like hams, so I always end up in rolled boyfriend jeans or lighter skinnies, trainers or sandals and a bright t shirt or vest. I don't know how to look interesting without layers and all my favourite clothes are boots and jackets.

Back to spring... I've broken out my tan suede ankle boots today (albeit with black skinnies) and a checked shirt over a blue t shirt which is sort of moving into spring for me. I'm looking forward to some exposed ankle action with my tan brogues!

Floisme · 13/02/2017 13:15

I like to cover up too but I'm not bothering with summer dressing this year unless we get a replay of 1976. It lasts about 3 weeks where I live - Christmas goes on for longer.

marmiteloversunite · 13/02/2017 15:39

Fishless I saw this bag in White stuff and thought of you.

Is it too early for a spring clothes thread?
FishlessCake · 13/02/2017 15:50

Ooh that's a lovely bag Smile thanks @marmiteloversunite
