I should be coming, can't see any reason i can't come this time round Smile long as i can find my way to the venue that is, don't want to end up wandering London looking lost Grin

isn't the weather just miserable today? yesterday was really nice here so to go from that to the misery of today is a bit deflating.

Longislandicetee · 25/02/2017 18:30

I took the dcs to see Sing this afternoon, after miniShop and miniLib apparently loved it. The miniBlings loved it soooo much! Big hit with them...and me.Grin

Thank you for the AMcQ dress love. Hopefully it suits me! It's me trying to be out of my comfort zone a little bit.

FedUp, yes I started returning to work this week - not full time. On the one hand it was good because it was the beginning of normality, on the other hand, it was quite exhausting. On a fashion front, it was lovely to wear something more formal again! I also finally got to properly wear my raindance necklace that dh got me for Christmas this week.

Everyone i am convinced one can have too many Bretons...I didn't have any 4 years ago before this thread, now i have been brainwashed!!

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 25/02/2017 19:15

I don't have a single breton. not one, i've never really been bothered by them and I don't know what i'd wear one with anyway because i wear so many other patterns, especially florals. Do i need to hand in my vogue credentials now?! Grin

Longislandicetee · 25/02/2017 19:18

No One you must keep up the resistance for some of us are weakGrin

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 25/02/2017 19:20

viva la resistance!!!! Grin

libertydoddle · 26/02/2017 10:21

I quite like stripes styled with another pattern like here and here although that said it's not a look I have ever managed to pull off.

Amber have you picked your outfit for your upcoming TV moment yet? Or are you too busy practicing?

DD said something amazing this morning... 'Mummy, can we have a pajama day? I don't feel like doing anything.' OK then Grin

queencerulean · 26/02/2017 10:41

Pretty much a pj day here lib. One child has a temp of 39 and a hacking cough, another is puking (and managed to puke spectatclarly over his homework) so I'm being nurse slave for the day as dh is at Twickenham.

MarshaBrady · 26/02/2017 11:33

Ok dc at tennis lessons so time for a catch up

Bernice love the boots, great discount too

Shop brilliant bag, glad you love it

One you're sounding really happy in London, that's fab

Mara love the hat, Equipment shirt and the MIHs. Such a beautiful Vivetta dress. We saw the serious one recently, what is it, with the two men, didn't love it that much

Littlered love those Choos. I'd go for near matching skinnies and a near matching top. Or lighter, cream jumper.

Fedup great outfit

QueenC great brogues for you

Everyone love the Kors skirt, really pretty for spring

Gorgeous Blingy glad you got the McQueen dress, has it arrived?

Great jumper Stokey, love Bella Freud

Lib enjoy your day of relaxing!

I'm thinking about what Spring item to get next. Anyone have a semblence of a list?

I don't think I even do lists anymore. ST Style showed asymmetric skirts which I'm not keen on. We had some good news which will be announced tomorrow. Well Dh's good news, with his work, mine too though really Wink, so might get something in honour of his commitment over the years any excuse. Just joshing I'm happy for him, he deserves it!

MarshaBrady · 26/02/2017 11:51

Littlered light colours are good for tops, but denim works with that colour too

littleredlipstick · 26/02/2017 12:04

Well I'm on my way to Bicester where I bought the choo boots as put them on this morning to go out and DH noticed they are 2 different shades especially on the leather straps Sadhow I never noticed when I bought them.

FedupNagging · 26/02/2017 13:30

I really don't think I'm going to make the MU Sad - I'd love to have met you One as we've not met before.

Well done MrMarsha - always nice to hear that hard work is rewarded. Love the check coat in your pic Marsha.

You have my sympathies Queen; hope the dc's recover very very soon.

I like the pins you linked too Lib; I sometimes wear a polka dot shirt under a breton but never done flowers and stripes. Looks lovely on the model.

I am not a massive fan of swimming but have been going to a private pool recently (with sauna and hot tub) which makes it more enjoyable and I'm trying really hard to do some actual proper swimming rather than float about chatting Grin

We have family arriving for Sunday lunch any time now - this is the calm before the storm!! I am currently cooking with a mild hangover but am hopeful lunch will sort it out!

Everyonelovessparkles · 26/02/2017 14:03

How annoying about the boots littlered, hope you are able to exchange them.

I thought sing looked good too blingy but DD is only 4 so I think she might be a bit young, I'll have to wait for it to come available on prime!!

Good news about mrmarsha, hope you get something too marsha, you know what they say about behind every good man etc etc Grin

Enjoy the lunch fedup. Have a hair of the dog to keep you going Grin

I didn't realise you hadn't kept the leather skirt dry. How come you sent it back?

I haven't really got a list for SS yet either. New stuff is coming in all the time but I haven't really seen anything yet that I need I do need to sort out jeans though so I think a trip to selfridges is on the cards.

Am sat in the car with 2 snoring children in the back! We were supposed to be going to the park en route to MILs but they both fell asleep and now it's drizzling, so DH has gone to source coffee whilst they sleep and I get 5mins peace!

Everyonelovessparkles · 26/02/2017 14:08

On the Breton front, interesting links from lib showing stripes and another pattern. Saw this in oasis which was really pretty and a good way to introduce a small pattern with stripes. I think Bretons are addictive blingy and one once you get one it is a slippery slope, you are just drawn to them in shops!Smile

littleredlipstick · 26/02/2017 15:20

No more in stock Sad

Gutted how I didn't notice before. Seen some nice shoes in Gucci but not in my size but DH picked up a scarf for me. Nothing else caught my eye apart from a coat in Burberry but it was more a heavy wool coat nothing to take from now in to spring

Longislandicetee · 26/02/2017 15:53

Oh that's bad news LittleSad Did they give you a credit note?

On the other hand, well done MrMarsha.Flowers

Everyone, Sing is quite long so not sure whether 4 year old would have had the stamina. Maybe it's just mine! What was today today was that as we had Sunday lunch I was playing the soundtrack as background music. Suddenly do started saying recounting the whole film, the actual lines that people said and at various points in the music he was describing the actual scene was they got to that bit in the music. I was somewhere between astonished and weirded outGrin. As I am taking a few minutes out to Mumsnet the kids are playing the soundtrack again....think I have found their new obsession.Hmm

Lib, those two floral links with stripes were really interesting. I liked the one especially where it's just on the collar. Not sure I am fashionable enough for that though.

Sorry to hear about the dcs QueenC. Hope they recover quickly and you're not knackered by the end of the day.

Marsha, my dress will be here on Wednesday.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 26/02/2017 15:54

i am so much happier marsha i feel so much lighter and brighter in myself and it's really showing in so many ways i think.

gutting about your boots littlered

i quite like some of those looks with the stripes and florals lib i may investigate further and perhaps try it out sometime

i almost, almost bought some sort of towelling type material shorts today that had cat faces printed all over them, i'm really tempted to go back and get them. I just wasn't sure enough to buy them then and there but i keep thinking about them! also saw some mint green converse which i will definitely go back to buy next weekend when i'm back from seeing Ds

libertydoddle · 26/02/2017 16:55

Well done mrmarsha
Littlered that's terrible about the boots. Hope you can get a credit note.
QueenC hope everyone is feeling better at yours.
DD got fed up with PJ day so we are just back from a run in the park and feeling better for it.
Blingy DD loves the Sing soundtrack. How funny at your DS memorising the film like that.
Next week at work is nuts - am going to plan outfits for the week now in an attempt to get ahead.

littleredlipstick · 26/02/2017 19:32

I had a full refund on my card it was offered straight away. The shop has moved at Bicester as have quite a few shops and some have gone i.e. Jaeger isn't there anymore

shopafrolic · 26/02/2017 20:25

I haven't been to Bicester in years - DS was in a pram last time. Glad they refunded the boots.
Nice one to MrMarsha good stuff
I want Spring now. Stuck a Breton on today with a vest underneath and froze.
Went to the new lux hotel pool with DH and miniShop and DS swam 9 lengths no arm bands or floats. super proud.
The Dressing Room had their Spring collection launch day today and I missed it. Gutted. Need to visit this week. I want to be inspired.
Random post. Sorry.

Shop let me know if the Dressing Room have any good oversized cardigans. I cannot believe how hard it's proving to find what I want.

Dreamqueen · 27/02/2017 05:37

Checking in from hols to say count me in for MU please? Struggling to keep up with all the news. Waiting for new glasses so struggling to see on my phone.

VivaVegas · 27/02/2017 06:53

Morning!
Absent for a bit as a fab week skiing for half term and the usual juggling at home/ work before/after a holiday!
Was lovely to be out in the fresh air with blue skies and not have to think about much. Ate and drank too much but it's the only holiday I ever come back from having not put any weight in due to all the activity!
Now that our winter holiday is over looking forward to spring and like a lot of you sick of wearing boots and jumpers!
Spending ban still on for me and really need to lose a few lbs before I buy anything as at the top end of my current size. I exercise loads but am a terrible stacker so need to knock that in the head!
Have good weeks Smile

Stokey · 27/02/2017 10:35

Morning all

welcome back Viva, sounds like you had a great break & jealous of Dream still being away.

Very grey here, come on spring, stop teasing us!

Hope the dc are recovered QueenC

I think if you keep thinking about something One, it's a sign that you want it.

Congratulations to Mr Marsha, always nice to be rewarded for hard work.

Annoying about your boots Littlered, I've never been to Bicester

Thanks for the advice about the dress Blingy and Fedup. I think you're right on reflection, I'm always really drawn to those styles but they're better for taller, less curvy types.

Is anyone else struggling a bit with silhouettes at the moment? I know that skinnies are a bit passé but I'm not quite sure where to go next. I'm comfortable with that loose on top, tight on bottom look. And I'm not sure wide bottoms do much for me. Did someone mention the Grazia fashion edition? Spotted it today, maybe that's what I need for inspiration.

queencerulean · 27/02/2017 12:07

stokey I'm with you on the silhouettes. A looser top suits me better as it skims my tum. I don't want to go back to a closer fitting top but equally I agree that skinnies are feeling a bit dated. I tried cropped flares last year and they looked awful on me. I think I'm going to try straight legs next. Love my gap girlfriend jeans but need ankle bearing weather for them.
littlered shame about the boots but at least you got a refund.
one so pleased that you are so happy
amber have we lost you to hours of practice...?

Wrt to the MU please let me know if you have any suggestions for places. I'm happy to book and as it's only 4 weeks we probably need to do so soon. I just don't know anywhere except for the usual place. I think you may have gone somewhere different last time?
