I have LITERALLY no idea what stylish footwear is - I only know about comfy. Is it possible to have both?

Help?

I have a nice pair of sandals (bit wedgy, black).

But that's no good for February.

you have one pair of shoes... or one "stylish" pair of shoes?
what are you after? daytime / evening / smart / casual?

Pavlovthecat · 23/02/2007 22:57

I have a great cheap pair of cowboy boots, comfy, yet funky...so i think anyway

brimfull · 23/02/2007 22:57

what are you wearing at the moment?
Not actually now at 11pm .

simplycontrolfreaky · 23/02/2007 22:58

her slippers innit

brimfull · 23/02/2007 22:59

I wear boots mostly. Either short ankle ones with jeans or knee length with skirts, all comfy and fairly low heeled, about 1-2in.

hunkerdave · 23/02/2007 22:59

Daytime - I need something for work other than [oh the shame] trainers.

But I have very narrow, high-arched, bony feet, and one is bigger than the other, so shoes don't stay on my feet very well. I can't even manage flip-flops, fgs. I end up kicking them down the road if I walk a bit too forcefully

I just knew you were going to say trainers lol.
Shame on you!!

hunkerdave · 23/02/2007 23:00

I am also very shit at balancing, so no mad heels.

And as for heels that look stable enough but have that skiddy-as-feck sole on them - er, no thanks - I'll kill myself falling over

I agree boots are the way to go. Cant go wrong, go with everything, can be dressed up or down, with skirts or trousers. And they dont fall off...

hunkerdave · 23/02/2007 23:01

LOL ggirl. I know, I know.

OP posts:
Pavlovthecat · 23/02/2007 23:01

you can get some really cool flat boots...

simplycontrolfreaky · 23/02/2007 23:01

ballet pumps

hunkerdave · 23/02/2007 23:01

I love boots. I got married in ivory silk boots with leather soles. Then I got pg and my feet went up a size (wtf?!) and never went back. But I can hardly wear silk boots in the winter either, eh?!

Pavlovthecat · 23/02/2007 23:02

well, I dont know...if you dont walk outside in them you might be alright...they sound fab...thought you said you had no style?

simplycontrolfreaky · 23/02/2007 23:02

how do you manage ffs?

brimfull · 23/02/2007 23:02

Do they need to be smart,as in office wear type thing?

hunkerdave · 23/02/2007 23:03

I also wear jeans a lot and can't afford a whole new wardrobe to go with my new shoes - can you wear ballet pumps with jeans? What do you wear with them? Tights? Socks? What colour? Also, I'm a short-arse - ballet pumps will be a bit too "true height" for my liking [nose in armpits of others on Tube]

OP posts:
hunkerdave · 23/02/2007 23:04

Nah, I wear jeans to work, so they don't need to be office-smart. I could probably wear a chicken suit to work though, and people wouldn't notice.

I can wear some heel. Just needs to be a bit grippy.

OP posts:
simplycontrolfreaky · 23/02/2007 23:05

i wear them all the time... but not for "smart". have them in all sorts but black patent are best. great with jeans imho. wear with thinnish socks. bare legs in summer

Pavlovthecat · 23/02/2007 23:06

like I said, cowboy boots. They go with everything. I wear mine with everything anyway. They are black, make a great 'clop' sound when I walk/strut in them, and hide my skinny ankles and fat calves

brimfull · 23/02/2007 23:06

these are nice if you're a size 38

hunkerdave · 23/02/2007 23:06

How do I manage? What do you mean? I kinda put shoes on and go out. I do have a pair of black ankle boots I wear if I go out of an evening or somewhere smart - I just don't find them comfy enough to wear all day every day.

OP posts:
Pavlovthecat · 23/02/2007 23:07

and they have a little well balanced heal...am I selling them at all? lol

hunkerdave · 23/02/2007 23:07

What's 38? I'm a size 4.5 to 5, depending on the shoe. Boots often come up big, don't they? I do like those though!
