I have LITERALLY no idea what stylish footwear is - I only know about comfy. Is it possible to have both?

Help?

I have a nice pair of sandals (bit wedgy, black).

But that's no good for February.

brimfull · 23/02/2007 23:09

Pavlovthecat · 23/02/2007 23:09

I would like my DP to wear cowboy boots...in fact he is wearing a pair to our wedding, minus the spurs of course!

I've got nightmarish feet too. Very high arches, very broad and big size. I love boots too, but they make them a bigger length and forget to add on extra at the ankles and calfs. I got married in purple metallic boots They were actually cream leather but I had them professionally dyed. I think platforms are fab. That way you can add height without losing balance. Weges are good too but not if they go in at the sole, like most of them did last year. If I buy boots or shoes with slippy sole I take them to the cobblers and get grip sole applied, or you can do it yourself with the kits from Woolworths. Ballet pumps are pants if you have high arches - looks stupid. Skechers are great for high arches, you can decent worky shoes from them. dead comfy too.

I think your feet go up a size when pg because you have lots of bones in your feet, when your hormones cause your ligaments to relax the weight of your body can spread the foot bones and sometimes they just stay that way. Good thing about big feet - you get loads in the sales

ggirl NOOOOOOOOOO,
pavlov. i am speechless (and that doesnt happen often.
going for a lie down now.

Rumpel · 23/02/2007 23:12

Sorry meant wedges - weges are people from Glasgow

brimfull · 23/02/2007 23:12

what is wrong with my boots??

hunkerdave · 23/02/2007 23:14

Oh, it never occurred to me that high arches and ballet pumps weren't a match made in heaven - of course! [dope]

I just look like I have a big bony, pointy bit of foot sticking out the top of them

I've tried them on before now and always been sad they look so shite!

simply - you speachless about me having style or buying aomething from Asda? Have a good sleep!

Hunkerdave - got some good ideas then? i think it is safe to say boots are a yes, trainers NOOOOOOOOOoo

Rumpel · 23/02/2007 23:18

Do a scout on ebay - they're great. I got a fab pair of very pointed, bright red patent ankle boots with a small kitten heel and grip sole for £4.99. None of my old shoes fit me now either 'cos have just had a baby - need to shop in the ladyman's shoeshop now

Kif · 23/02/2007 23:43

wait for sales in nice shops likejones or russel and bromley - I find cheap heels impossible, but i think better quality ones get'balancing dust' included in the price

Kif · 23/02/2007 23:46

I'm (SAHM) in these www.jonesbootmaker.com/ebusiness1/store/product_details.jsp?pid=23210&cid=162&brc=&red=product_list.jsp?id=162,

dds choice!

Had lots similar height different shapes- when worn in they're as soft as trainers

foxinsocks · 09/03/2007 10:10

ooh hunker, I think you have my feet

I'm also 4.5/5, high arch-arched and bony and narrow

try on the pumps but I find the high arch just does not work with them - nor any of the ballet styleee, mary jane stylee shoes (again because of the high arch thing)

I've a pair of very plain Hush Puppy ankle boots that I wear day in day out (but if you already have a pair, you may not want another).

I would also suggest getting some boots - go to the shops if you can because they are all in the sale at the moment (some are half price).

I'm on the look out for a pair of sandals that I can wear day in day out AND that I can walk loads in without getting sore feet.

I love my wrangler tan suede boots. They have low chunky heel and are soooooooo comfy but I think (hope) they are stylish too. I have little fat feet but Cod (who has skinny feet) has same boots and they are comfy for her too.
