Show me your eternity ring!

I am getting an eternity ring for a significant anniversary soon but can't quite decide what I want. I have size i ring fingers and anything too wide looks daft-especially the full eternity rings or even the half (7stone) ones, so was thinking maybe a 5 stone one? In platinum or white gold but can't find anything exactly right.

I like this picture but it's an American site and made of zirconia anyway.

Do you have a beautiful eternity ring for me to look at? Do you love it??

There are some lovely rings on here!

Those of you who have had rings made-what's my likelihood of getting a ring like the one in my OP made in white gold for less than £1000?! 😳

A diamond for each of us

Ooh-you've got a three stone one! You can still call it eternity ring, can't you?!

I'd say so. So people have them as engagement rings too.
I hope you are able to find what you are looking for, or get something made op

This is mine. It is full eternity, in platinum. It is narrow, so you could wear it on small fingers.

Mine is a narrow diamond and sapphire half eternity (6 of each). DH choose it as a Christmas present following the birth of dc1. It was a complete surprise and I love it. I don't think it was very expensive as the stones are quite tiny. Goes with my engagement ring but actually I prefer wearing it just with my wedding band. I'm personally not keen on stacking three rings together, just think it looks too crowded.

I do? I think most rings with lots of stones are too clunky. I only have little hands Grin

Alicesmith85 · 15/01/2017 19:49

Here's mine, it's the one on top, rarely wear it as I'm uncomfortable with three on one finger. It's made by brown and newirth is about a third of a carat and cost £700. In hindsight it was way over priced for what it is. I'd love a five stone ring I could wear just by itself.

One word of warning re white gold, it is usually sold electroplated with rhodium to make it look really white, this is soft and wears off quite fast if you wear it all the time, the white gold itself is rather yellower. Can get related for £20-30 in a jeweller's, but will need doing once every year or two if you want it to look silver in colour. My Dubai-purchased wedding ring needs a replate atm but is otherwise lovely. If you're wanting platinum but dithering over the cost, might be worth waiting a bit longer for the reduced upkeep. Hope you find the ring you're after, and it absolutely doesn't matter how many diamonds it has, the sentiment is the important thing.

Lots of beautiful rings here.

sycamore54321 · 15/01/2017 20:07

If wearing on the same finger as another ring, the advice is to get the same metal in the same grade. Otherwise one erodes the other over time, so all 9ct gold, all platinum or whatever.

DrScholl · 15/01/2017 20:31

i call mine my maternity ring.
3 kids in 4 years . too fucking right

thatdearoctopus · 15/01/2017 20:58

This is mine. Spent ages finding one that looked OK with my engagement ring. Jeweller pointed out in the end that it needed to be the same height. Love it.

This is mine- 13 baguettes in platinum in a smooth setting. I had planned on a classic eternity ring but my fingers are not especially dainty and the thinner rings made my fingers look fatter! It is a bit big to wear with my other rings (but too much bling in one place!) so I wear it on my right ring finger

Where's yours, owl? It sounds lovely!

Mine's a 5 stone. 3 princess cut and 2 baguettes. Like several PP we went to a local jeweller (where DH had engagement ring made) and he advised on what would complement my engagement and wedding rings, and ensured the diamonds going into it were of equal grade to my engagement stone. He also (surprisingly) advised that we opt for a half eternity, pointed out we may as well spend our budget on top grade diamonds in the style I wanted for the ones you could see, rather than settling for lower quality ones you'd never see on the underside. Makes sense.

I usually wear mine in order from base of finger to tip: wedding - engagement - eternity purely because the solitare of my engagement ring sits nicely sandwiched between the two flatter rings

My eternity ring has 4 diamonds, sits between my wedding band (full eternity) and engagement ring. It was a total surprise to be gifted it on our 10th Christmas together Grin

Mine is exactly like the one in your photo. It is from Earnest Jones and I love it!

This is my eternity ring, wedding band and engagement ring (before the stone in the engagement ring was reset). I lost my original engagement ring which was 0.3 carat so my mum gave me this ring which has a 1.1 carat stone in. I had it reset but after a few months discovered a hairline fracture in the stone so it needs to be completely reset again to protect it and I can't afford it yet.

So in the second picture I'm wearing my grandmothers engagement ring (band missing but normally worn) which my mum inherited and then gave me.

Oops - weirdly the photo is visible on my phone app but not on the thread. Imagine my ring as a bit shinier in real life, it badly needs cleaning.

Casmama-is that a link to Rightmove?!

Bouquetdiva-really, do you have a photo??

Eternityring-that is stunning! What carats are the diamonds?

crocodileeggs · 15/01/2017 21:59

Hey! I work in a jewellers, you should go in to one and just have a play and see what you like!

Questions I would ask or info id like as a jeweller -

-What are your existing rings like?
-Would you wear it with the others or on another hand?
-What type of metal are your existing rings?
-Expectations of metal (white gold needs re-rhodium around once per year to keep its white appearance. If worn with harder metals like platinum this will happen more often and you will notice a big difference between the 2)

That would give me a better idea to get started! Ideally you want no gaps between your rings. If you have a low set engagement ring you will need a shaped eternity band to go along side with the perfect fit

AVeryBigHouse · 15/01/2017 22:04

This is mine...diamond and baguette set in platinum. Dh gave it to me on my 30th birthday, after the birth of our first baby.
