WWW's six week 10 year younger boot camp PROPER, week 1 - Feb half term to April

Hello, this is week 1 proper of a new 10yy six week boot camp. Anyone who did boot camp lite last week, as I did, may want to be very strict with themselves this week although I suppose it depends on when your half term is and whether you are working through it or away or something.

The rules are:

This is about feeling better about yourself...not necessarily a diet per se etc etc

  • Sunscreen at all times. I know it's winter, there are still rays trying to damage your skin
  • No or little booze. Wine at the weekend is allowed if you want it
  • Walking is important, a small amount every day if possible. 30 mins if you can, I am booking out lunch hours where possible to do this
  • Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day
  • Apply body cream as often as possible. I am doing my heels daily too as they're lizard like
  • Use hand cream
  • Go to bed early, by 10.30pm if pos
  • Eat healthily
  • Be happy

The idea is that at the end of six weeks we all feel happier, healthier and glow with the good food, sleep, exercise, water and lack of sun damage.

You don't have to report back every day but I almost certainly will as it motivates me thinking someone is watching me.

Welcome all members old and new.

Hello all and well done
yesterday ok
granola
apple
a small no of walnuts, brazil nuts and pine kernels
a yellow pepper dipped in hummus (not much hummus)
some prawns
another apple
walked half an hour at lunchtime with sunscreen
drank easily 2 litres of water
ate cod, proscuitto and potatoes for supper
strawberry cheesecake ice cream
loads of wine
but I fell asleep on the sofa watching a film and I bet it was before 10pm.
Feel rough today but will go back to sleep when dh gets up. It's his turn for a lie in.

And I will eat and drink loads tonight as I'm going out but it will be high on happiness quotient and I will get a lie in tomorrow.

Oh and someone was leaving so there was cake next to my desk but I only had a teeny sliver of passionfruit cheescake stuff.

Good day for me yesterday

Porridge (Have to think of something else to start the day with am b-o-r-e-d)

Felafel and salad for lunch

Mackeral, baked potato and rice for supper - half a glass of wine

the nice thing is I seem to have lost the need to snack at he moment.

Lots of water but two skimmed milk lattes.

Am having people round for dinner tonight though so will plummet off the wagon in a big way.

Am finding the necessity to confess here is helping!

CAMy · 25/02/2007 09:51

Whoops! Haven't given up the alcohol yet

And dd is being confirmed tomorrow and there's a little "do" with wine after

Ah well, Tuesday then.

Eating has been good though.

Sleeping not bad.

WideWebWitch · 25/02/2007 12:52

Well, I got into a lift (which already had people in it) in a hotel today and it PUT IT OVER THE ALLOWED WEIGHT . OK, so I had a rucksack on but still. I took the stairs.

Such a crap day yesterday including loads of wine that I'm not even going to bother posting about it. Tomorrow's another day.

lol www

tortoiseSHELL · 25/02/2007 15:47

oh www - isn't that just the worst nightmare - even though it was probably the fat bloke next to you really...

REally pleased with yesterday - went out with the family to a National Trust place, and we all had healthy salad, then went for a couple of miles walk. Drank lots of water too, but did have a glass of wine in the evening.

motherinferior · 25/02/2007 16:50

WWW: remember, people already in it. Tipping it just near to the top, and when you wafted on it was the last straw, repeat straw.

tortoiseSHELL · 25/02/2007 16:52

Good advice MI! It could have been only an ounce off the limit before you got in!

swedishmum · 25/02/2007 17:58

WWW agree with the others about the lift, but it still leaves you doesn't it? Think no more about it - it's everyone else, not you.
Not a good weekend, but I too have lost the will to snack. Given up on the no alcohol btw but still not had chocolate. Fil and mil came round with holiday vid today - I looked bad but not as bad as last year so that's good.
I'm really bored at the moment - need to find some feel good activities to do during the week. Prefer it if wine and Pizza Express not involved..... Actually, saw Music and Lyrics with 3 of the children yesterday - haven't laughed so much for ages.

puddle · 25/02/2007 20:22

lol at the lift www. It'll be the rucksack.

Totally gorged myself last night on uber rich food and wine so will draw a discreet veil over yesterday.

Have had porridge (AGAIN!)and home made veg and lentil soup so far today plus a massive bowl of home made popcorn while we had family cinema his afternoon.

Am really missing bread today!

Weekend bit of a write-off food and wine wise, but managed a little bit of exercise.

Scales have gone back up.

Will try harder this week.

yoyo · 26/02/2007 11:01

A fairly good couple of days but need to be more focussed. Am going to stock up on loads of fruit and veg and make a healthy soup this afternoon.

Oati · 26/02/2007 11:05

Right I'm going to be really good this week.

Dh is away, so won't be sabotaging me with his cooking.

jeangenie · 26/02/2007 11:14

hello everyone

had a crazy w/e, crap food but plenty of exercise...the kids were staying at a friends for three days and DH and I did tonnes of

decorating!!!

we ate lots of junk ('cos you have to when you are decorating and the kitchen is a state) and drank lots of alcohol ('cos you have to when decorating, or so DH says anyway) and ingested huge amounts of toxic fumes. But we did laugh a lot, usually at the state I was managing to get myself into (I am NOT a tidy painter) so I guess that was good.

Have just had coffee and two toasts with jam (working from home today) as I was starving but will aim to do better from this moment on...

puddle · 26/02/2007 11:15

Ok one week in. Pretty good day yesterday was ruined by nore wine last night. And am feeling generally grotty today because I stayed up to watch Lost and then got embroiled in something else and ended up going to bed at 12.30- way too late for me.

But my skin looks better, eyes less baggy and puffy. I am doing ww alongside this too and have lost 3lbs so am quite chipper.
