Wish I could add some cheer on here. (Am in slight post illness decline) Thanks heavens for wAF -bring on the BuzzFeed!

BTM, so sending you scaffolding for holding up of self. I think if ds has hit rock bottom, then the ONLY way is up. Massive love to you all. I have lost a lot of sleep this week , thinking about darling niece , in similar straits. Sad

colly's law rules in this house. GrinGrin
But we are saved by having outbuildings or Somewhere To Hide Shit, as it is known,

Absolutely fascinated by services available in SE. You are lucky to get a standard plumberout here, never mind a dishy bloke on a motorbike to clean your pipes. Fnar!

I am looking forward to mini meet up with Addle, if we can manage it later this week. Yay

Lalsy · 06/12/2016 15:16

Thanks, MI [logs hastily out of work].

Crem, hope your dneice turns corner soon too Sad.

Collymollypuff · 06/12/2016 15:38

I meant to say ages ago, WAF - I so enjoyed our discussion of writing at the Xmas meal, and still feel quite buoyed up by it. Thanks I have no doubt at all that the right publisher will snap your book up. And fingers and toes crossed for your dh as well. Maybe we should set up a Crepey employment agency?

Cremolafoam · 06/12/2016 16:48

Like Silver Saints except using Copper Crepeys. Bloody marvellous idea.

hattymattie · 06/12/2016 17:38

I feel sorry for the old less hunky Silver Saints - they will inevitably earn less than the young sexy ones who are brandishing their power drills manfully.

Have had a nice day mothering DD2. Took her for lunch then into Paris shopping and bought some bits and pieces - I think she should have probably gone to Uni in London where the crowd is more cosmopolitan. I think she's more French than she thought she was.

Went to the Prefecture for my nationality interview - we were unable to come up with many joint activities other than eating together, and watching Netflix - I told the lady - I do my gym with my friends and he does his jogging with his mate! She must think we are the world's most boring couple. More of our time is spent organising the family than indulging in activities.

MM - how is your son doing - apparently I should be French in six months which is quicker than I thought. Also, I meant to say, so glad you're feeling better.

BTM - hope things went as well as they could today.

Lalsy · 06/12/2016 17:49

Hatty, that's interesting re dd2. I must chat to you about that as I think my ds has applied to where she is.

Your nationality saga reminded me that when dh and I got married (relatively recently), we had to have separate interviews with the registrar to prove that I (I think) wasn't being co-erced and that we did know each other. I was terrified they would ask us questions like on Mr and Mrs, as neither of us have taken any interest in each other's daily routines. I have no idea how dh shaves. In fact, she asked me where dh worked and what he did. By the time I'd finished explaining that, the time was up. He was asked how I spelt my name, which he managed. It was very odd. Then, on the day itself, we both had to answer a load of questions about our dfs (both been dead for many years - a rather gloomy start to proceedings). It made me wonder what list we were on.

GiddyGiddyGoat · 06/12/2016 17:52

Hmmm, Martin looks handy, Paolo looks v enthusiastic - and Geoff looks a bit sad and desperate (as well as looking as though he might have drilled through his own hand and is trying to pretend he's fine).

Collymollypuff · 06/12/2016 18:04

Newsflash, Crepeys - the older guys might be more experienced Which, depending what you want them for, could be a good thing. Wink GGG, Geoff is just trying to pull at your heartstrings, and doubtless gets plenty of calls from HCPs. Uniformed ones.

herbaceous · 06/12/2016 18:26

I couldn't have any of the young good-looking SSers, as I'd get all embarrassed. One of the mid-range might suit my needs, and have hidden depths. Eddie, for example. Or John, with his bashful drill-holding. Shows a modest nature. Deon looks quietly confident, with his unorthodox stance, and looks like he knows his way around tubing.

I have got some writing work! Praise be! I won't get paid for it until approx April (2019) [exaggerating for effect] but it's a boost. However, it means I won't have time to apply for three jobs by the end of the week...

Collymollypuff · 06/12/2016 18:27

I can see that Laszlo wants to come and fold my clothes in a Kondo fashion.

herbaceous · 06/12/2016 18:38

I have a 'service personnel' question. I am in the process of buying a rather brilliant train set arrangement from someone on Gumtree. However, it's collection only, from Carshalton which, despite being so close will be about a three-hour round trip. Do any south London crepeys know of any tame 'man with a van' types who might want to bring it to me for a reasonable fee? Perhaps taking some of MrS's crap to the dump on the way back?

Collymollypuff · 06/12/2016 19:11

I can get it for you, Herbs. Carshalton is really close to me, and then you will be obliged to come and inspect The Addams Family House for yourself, at your leisure, sometime before Christmas. Seriously - I love Carshalton. I might take dh there and point out some potential gifts for moi.

bigTillyMint · 06/12/2016 19:15

Am GrinGrinGrin at the Sliver Saints/comments!

Meeting did not go the way DS wanted and it has caused/will continue to cause major issues at home and school. I feel OK about it atm bur will no doubt lose the plot at some point soon.
And I have a related dilemma which I would like help with but don't want to post about on here. Just pur ypur hand up if you're interested and I will pm you Wink

herbaceous · 06/12/2016 19:18

REALLY? That would be Totes Amaze. It can only be picked up in the evenings, after 7, which is what makes it hard for me. Does it make it hard for you?

In frivolous S&B news, I went to Uniqlo and swapped my birthday gilet for this in the blue. It's so snug, I can envisage not removing it until May.

Collymollypuff · 06/12/2016 19:21

Oh, BTM, I'm so sorry. Yes, please PM me. I'm sure we all want to help in whatever way we can.

(BTW, Herbs, we could drive the set over to you rather than you coming here - dh is always happy to drive across London - one of his skills!)

Rosebag · 06/12/2016 19:22

Tilly I have been thinking about you and DS all day. Flowers I wonder whether the way DS wants things to go is precisely what will not aid his recovery? Feel free to PM if I'm the right person. No offence taken if I'm not. xx

Collymollypuff · 06/12/2016 19:23

X post. No probs, I could pick it up after 7 Thursday or Friday?

Lalsy · 06/12/2016 19:31

Oh BTM Flowers. What Rose said (what ds wants/do PM if helpful - I am out for the evening). I hope you have a calm evening.

Loving light relief provided by Saintly talk.

herbaceous · 06/12/2016 19:35

< falls weeping with gratitude upon Colly > That would be so amazing. I'll PM you re details. And feed/water you obvs when you make it to the frozen north east (London).

Collymollypuff · 06/12/2016 19:39

It's taken me right back to the days of getting train sets for ds! Aw...

GiddyGiddyGoat · 06/12/2016 19:42

Always happy to lend an ear / shoulder / leg to stand on etc etc BTM. X

Rosebag · 06/12/2016 19:59

Bit miffed that Seasalt has now reduced their cords as MI pointed out...just a day or two after I caved in and ordered the Lands End ones...although the latter have workout marginally cheaper...
