Or can anyone recommend comfy boots that aren't knee high (short arse here)

Comfort over style here - am usually a converse tomboy person.

I finally and very reluctantly bought a pair this year, purely because I wear an AFO on one leg and it's one of the few styles of footwear I've found I can fit it in and not squeeze the hell out of the carbon fibre frame into my skin. Once I put them on I didn't want to take them off, so I definitely think they're worth it for the comfort factor, plus it stops me having to wear running shoes with EVERYTHING as thats all i can fit the AFO into otherwise lol

All the UGGs we've ever bought have been in whole sizes and are fairly true to size. I'm a UK 6 and the 6 was perfect from day 1.

My SIL is a 5 and a half and bought the 5 because there's no need for extra room for socks etc.

I think the difference lies in UGGs that are manufactured in the US and those in Australia. The US ones tend to be the half sizes when translated to UK sizes. It's worth just checking.

What's an AFO?

Jonessoar · 10/11/2016 13:52

@FV45 it's a carbon fibre frame that fits inside your shoes and extends up the calf, it supports and stabilises my leg to help me move about after a disastrous op. Ugg's hide it quite well 👍

If you missed the Ugg discount it's worth checking out the Emu sale on at www.secretsales.com. I just picked up a pair of long sheepskin boots for £79. Don't know how they compare to Uggs but for that price I'll give it a try.

I've had my 2 pairs of UGGS for about 8 years and both pairs are still in great condition. I also overpronate and wear an orthopaedic insole, the backs haven't collapsed of either pair.

I've also have a pair of EMU boots and they were terrible. They collapsed very early on and I just threw them away, waste of money.
