Or can anyone recommend comfy boots that aren't knee high (short arse here)

Comfort over style here - am usually a converse tomboy person.

I bought mine about 7 years ago half price, I think they were £70. I wore them for about 2 years with skinny jeans and cable knit jumpers, they I felt like they no longer suited my style anymore and gave them to a friend for her teenage daughter so they are worth the money as they last for years.

I just got these from Primark. Dead comfy and under 20 quid. Why anyone would spend 150 on boots so soft they eventually wear away side ways I'll never know!

I've had my uggs for 7 years and they are totally fine.

My husband keeps saying they're ugly and there are plenty of nicer boots out there.

Being short with skinny legs most calf length boots are either wide or come too high up.

Still undecided, yes I agree they're ugly and have a chavvy association but they look sooo comfy.

I bought Ugg looking boots by guess from tk maxx. Loved them. They have the solid bottom so it's still fine to wear in the rain. They were just so comfy throughout my pregnancy when I walked, well wobbled around I should say a lot.
Have a look around tk maxx. Good choice in there.

These Seven Boot Lane boots are lovely. Faux fur lines, very comfy, snug and I love them.
I've got Uggs but prefer these. sevenbootlane.com/collections/boots/products/gloria-grey-suede

I'd love a pair of uggs what shops sell them ?

They don't wear away and slouch at the sides unless they're fake. My chestnut short ones are on their 5th winter and look brand new.

Actual sheepskin is a world away from cheap shop faux suede and polyester fleece.

I bought cardy uggs and they're still alive after five years! Yes they're faked to death but fakes quickly wear away and look terrible so they're blindingly obvious

I am very tall and slim and think they look good on me actually.

I've got some dark brown suede Uggs and I like to wear them outside . Teamed with dark skinny jeans and a fitted jumper, I think they look great and at risk of sounding like an old granny, I get terrible chilblains in the winter so the furry lining is a Godsend.

I live quite rurally though and would wear them for shopping, a walk, school pick or working as a nanny, and I'm fairly dressed down a lot of the time.

NapQueen people pay £150 because only the snides wear away at the sides. Real Uggs stay great for years.

Awesome, I'm going to order a pair online - husband may hate them but oh well.

Keep reading to buy a size down as they loosen up. That true?

Try mandmdirect.com, Sole Trader outlet and the KG outlet - think it's Shoeaholics?

Thanks PNGirl that's the website I've been looking at given their discount offer at the moment.

I love shoeaholics!

Hi folks,

If you do decide to take the UGG plunge (I'll admit, I have a grey knitted pair which are my guilty pleasure) we have a code for 20% off all orders at Shoeaholics for today only. You'll just need to use the code 20MUMSNETAFF at the checkout. The good news is it works on top of their onsite discounts, meaning you can grab a pair of UGGs for under £100.

I have the high heel Ugg boots on today which I bought in a sale in summer. Down 55 percent and worth every penny. Really great looking and comfortable, despite the high heel.
I also have a pair of Kensington Ugg boots which couldn't be more remote from the ugly and horrendous knock offs and house slippers many would be wearing.

I wear mine as slippers, but they are creeping. A quick nip to little Tesco's, after the gym in the evening... I wore them on a long-haul flight this week (with spare sandals in my hand luggage).
Style radar says no; feet say yes.

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 08/11/2016 11:13

It's a long haul flight and a nip to Tesco's now, cakes but before you know it you'll be heading off on the school run in Uggs and pyjamas bottoms with a fag hanging out of your mouth. Grin

Thanks for the tip, Amy, I love wasting money on bargains. Smile

I have the Ugg chestnut slippers
(which look like and are slippers!)
and the tall black boots
(which look like and are boots!)

Brilliant, just ordered a new pair using that discount. Mine have lasted for years, been through the wash unscathed countless times but tbh are looking past their best. I'll still keep them for walking through fields but how lovely to have a new pair. I'll explain it to dh as an early Christmas present Grin (I just bought new ugg slippers when someone linked to the schuh Imperfects website too. I clearly need to stay off the s & b board).
