WWW's six week 10 year younger boot camp (lite) WEEK 1A, half term

WideWebWitch · 11/02/2007 13:17

Hello, ok, this is week 1a of 10yy boot camp lite for those who want to go off the rails a bit over half term or to ease themselves into this plan slowly.

Then next Sunday I will start week 1 proper and we'll continue for another six weeks. So if you join now you're in for seven weeks but an easy first week.

And here's a nice piece about older women I think although you don't have to be 'older' to join, everyone's welcome.

The usual rules are:

This is about feeling better about yourself...not necessarily a diet per se etc etc

  • Sunscreen at all times. I know it's winter, there are still rays trying to damage your skin
  • No or little booze. The odd glass of wine at the weekend is allowed if you want it
  • Walking is important, a small amount every day if possible. 30 mins if you can, I am booking out lunch hours where possible to do this
  • Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day
  • Apply body cream as often as possible. I am doing my heels daily too as they're lizard like
  • Use hand cream
  • Go to bed early, by 10.30pm if pos
  • Eat healthily
  • Be happy

The idea is that at the end of six weeks we all feel happier, healthier and glow with the good food, sleep, exercise, water and lack of sun damage.

You don't have to report back every day but I almost certainly will as it motivates me thinking someone is watching me.

For results so far have a look at last weeks thread, plenty of looking good and feeling better

Welcome all members old and new.

gothicmama · 11/02/2007 13:21

OK you'veconvinced me but how does it get harder

WideWebWitch · 11/02/2007 13:27

Sw, who accused you of that? Moi? Sorry if so, I only said ooh, I'd love to be 11 stone, of COURSE you can join in! Welcome.

OP posts:
sunnywong · 11/02/2007 13:29

you said I only came on the thread because it was under Threads I 'm On

However, I shall sweep that aside and join you and support you all
But I will not be giving up booze, just to be clear from the outset

WideWebWitch · 11/02/2007 13:33

lol, did I? Grovelling apologies, do come on in. Yeah yeah, well we all say we're going to not drink and I usually manage not to all week and then binge in exactly the unhealthy way they tell us not to in all the papers at the weekends. Oh well.

I've just had 100g of puy lentils with chillis, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, capers and a tiny bit of feta. It was delicious. And dh just gave me a Love Heart saying 'for ever'

I think he wants a root, WWW

I do enjoy reading your menus though

My new ADs have cut my appetite a lot, which ain't all bad but my weight has gone up with all the new muscles on my legs due to cycling 15ks twice a week.

The feta here is SHITE, I want the stinky Cypriot stuff made of sheep's milk

WideWebWitch · 11/02/2007 13:42

lol, yep well if he hadn't disappeared to bed at FIVE PM last night...but I digress good about the anti-ds being appetite supressing!

I am in!
Failed miserably last time but really want to give it another go.
Am going to eat cereal for breakfast and lunch and then have small dinner (girls night out next week and need to lose these love handles lol). Also try and knock the booze on the head if I can. May just have the odd glass.
Now drinking 2 litres of water could be a problem. Any tips to make it less of a chore?
We are walking home from school and I am going to aim to run everyday at the gym if I can!

I put it in my lentil soup. Just a bit though as I find it a bit sour

WideWebWitch · 11/02/2007 16:37

Batters, tomorrow is the first day of week seven, yes. Although we started on a Tuesday or something I think but even so. It's gone quite quickly I think. Oh of course, you're going to Paris, how lovely, do enjoy. I have never had quinoa either and I am quite lentilly. Sod it, drink the cava otherwise it will be wasted. And this is lite...

Today we had a rather pleasant Sunday Lunch here so happiness quota doing well, healthy eating not so good .

It was a pre-Valentine celebration as dh will be away on Wed.

Am also skiving off swimming - dh is currently exercising the boys, whilst I lounge around here.

it's very good batters and the staff are brilliant - so attentive. We took the boys ( aged 5 and 7) and they were quite well-behaved and ate well (something of a miracle for my super-fussy ds1)

winnie · 11/02/2007 19:41

I have had a good day again and am feeling completely stuffed from all of the beans and fruit and veg I've eated today.

My skin is glowing and my hair and nails look great.

I went out for a brisk 30 minute walk today and although I enjoyed it I feel extremely unfit so am now motivated to do the walking to get fitter thing ... definitely.

Onward and upwards everyone

Oooh count me in for this round please. I lurked on your last one for last few weeks, this time I want to try it for myself.

yoyo · 12/02/2007 08:01

Had an indulgent lunch yesterday and lots of wine.

Going to see Doctor today as I think my sinuses are infected. Entire face now swollen and feel toothache in every tooth. Will not be eating much today so some compensation for feeling crap.

Intend to have a good week though.

Hi everyone. A little hung over as I felt I should use up the bottle of shiraz I had on the go to start with a clean slate so to speak! But I've had cereal and fruit and a herb tea for breakfast. I plan to do some sort of exercise also today.

WideWebWitch · 12/02/2007 10:17

Hello all, Iota, mmmm at pub lunch, it's AGES since we've been out to eat. Woburn is very nice isn't it? I thought about the Inn at Woburn for our wedding dinner but we did it in Bath in the end.

Yoyo sorry about your sinuses. Winnie, good about your glowingness. Welcome SS and theheadgirl.

Crap for me last night, salmon fillet, broccoli, carrots all very good, and then shedloads of white wine and fell asleep at 9.30pm and slept until just now with a brief interlude at 4am when I came downstairs and ate toast adn drank water. I've just had 4 pieces of toast and butter and do actually feel fine.

Although, VERY ANNOYINGLY, I have the beginnings of a bloody effing cold sore tingling on my lip. Which I associate with being run down and/or stressed, neither of which I feel I am so that's VERY annoying. I haven't had one for ages so will need to go and buy Zovirax in a bit. Well, I will need to walk today for sure, with lots of sunscreen especially making sure my mouth is covered, I wonder if it's the sun, that brings on cold sores too. Hmmm. Or maybe it's 2 nights on the wine. Grrr.

Cappuccino · 12/02/2007 10:21

hello

I think I can join

but I do need a little bit more booze than that.

If I'm being good for me, will that count?

WideWebWitch · 12/02/2007 10:52

Yes Capp. I have been exceedingly crap on the wine front: drank loads Friday night and last night, and although I didn't drink on Sat night, big wupp quite frankly. And as a result I have been eating bacon sandwiches and toast etc the next day. I won't drink tonight although will do on Tues and pos Weds and Thurs as we are away.

prufrock · 12/02/2007 11:28

Right - I'm back and this time i will be good. or at least I will get back on the programme after I inevitably fall off it at the weekend instead of berating myself for being pathetic and consoling myslef with yet more wine.

I did exercise and eat helthily last night - well apart from the whole (but quite small) Cheesecake that I practically finished (It had been bought in a weak momnet, and if I hadn't eatn it last night I would have been tempted by it all week.)

This orning have had toast and jam (wholemeal, high fruit and no butter). will have advocado and pine nut salad for lunch, and will take dog out as soon as it stops raining.

CAMy · 12/02/2007 12:40

Hello everyone, glad this is Boot lite week!

I had a little red wine on Friday but was in London at the Hogarth exhibition on Saturday (can highly recommend it btw) and walked from Waterloo station to Tate Britain, then had lunch there without pudding or wine, then walked for 2 hours around the exhibition, then walked to Charing Cross station. Must have been a few miles along the river altogether.

Drank moderately on Sat eve but drank immoderately (lovely cold Pouilly-Fuisse) at Sunday lunch time .

Will be good on the alcohol front for the rest of the week though as will be driving dd around to her various social half-term social engagements.

Batters, have a fab time in Paris, are you going on the Eurostar? And where are you staying?

London meet-up on Saturday 21st April then. Can we go to Vinopolis, where Batters and I first met (ooh) more than 5 years ago
