WWW's six week 10 year younger boot camp (lite) WEEK 1A, half term

WideWebWitch · 11/02/2007 13:17

Hello, ok, this is week 1a of 10yy boot camp lite for those who want to go off the rails a bit over half term or to ease themselves into this plan slowly.

Then next Sunday I will start week 1 proper and we'll continue for another six weeks. So if you join now you're in for seven weeks but an easy first week.

And here's a nice piece about older women I think although you don't have to be 'older' to join, everyone's welcome.

The usual rules are:

This is about feeling better about yourself...not necessarily a diet per se etc etc

  • Sunscreen at all times. I know it's winter, there are still rays trying to damage your skin
  • No or little booze. The odd glass of wine at the weekend is allowed if you want it
  • Walking is important, a small amount every day if possible. 30 mins if you can, I am booking out lunch hours where possible to do this
  • Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day
  • Apply body cream as often as possible. I am doing my heels daily too as they're lizard like
  • Use hand cream
  • Go to bed early, by 10.30pm if pos
  • Eat healthily
  • Be happy

The idea is that at the end of six weeks we all feel happier, healthier and glow with the good food, sleep, exercise, water and lack of sun damage.

You don't have to report back every day but I almost certainly will as it motivates me thinking someone is watching me.

For results so far have a look at last weeks thread, plenty of looking good and feeling better

Welcome all members old and new.

Went to an Italian restaurant for lunch yesterday, I had a salad

Ok I admit it,I did have mushrooms baked in mozarella to start and a glass of white wine.

Last night dh cooked a beautiful roast and had more white wine, well it was V-Day.

Today I have had organic porridge for breakfast and a prawn salad for lunch with a very small baked potato.

As dd is away tonight at her friend's b/day sleepover who knows what will happen on the wine front. Thank goodness this is Boot Camp Lite (and www is not here today).

Good luck at Relate monkeytrousers.

Oi! The cat's back!

We had a lovely time, loads of Champagne, wine, roast chicken, fish, dulce de leche ice cream, no walking whatsoever, fab time. And came back and had an Indian takeaway so I intend to start again tomorrow.

Good job it is lite, you've all been BAAAAAAD but hey, happiness is important Let's just all get back on that wagon next week shall we?

Hey, I've been good today. Having a snifter now though. When oh when will I sync with you all??

Glad you had a nice time WWW.

winnie · 17/02/2007 10:24

I have had a couple of bad days this week (dd has moved out and stress levels are high!) The bad days have left me feeling terrible; bloated, headache, dehydrated (my skin feels parched) & I am even more tired than usual. I am back to this today because I was doing so well and was feeling so much better.

Batters and WWW glad you had a good time. It's half term here this week so it is going to be a challenge.

CAMy · 17/02/2007 10:30

Hugs, winnie.

Sorry to read your news Winnie. Hope things improve for you soon.

Glad to hear that some of you have had good breaks. We have all had the horrible cold but have tried to do things nevertheless. Sinus problem persists so back to Doc on Mon for more antibiotics.

Have eaten well in a high-fat, it's half term way. Don't know why as my sense of taste is crap. Have also had some wine. Straight and narrow (if only that were a reference to my body) from Monday.

piscesgirl · 17/02/2007 13:53

New girl here! Logged on today for first time in a week. Had a horrible cold/cough during this time and have been feeling 10 years older so need to get back on track. Got dreaded cold sores as well so must be run down. Hmmmm where do I start??????? Just had a chocolate muffin and feel really guilty but it would seem that the general opinion is to enjoy these foods in moderation. That will be hard to retrain my brain as yummy foods = feel guilty! Right, well DP has gone down the pub and I am at home with the DS 2.5yo and baby DS 1yo so as the sun is out am going to get the pram out and go for a walk (will cancel out the muffin right ???!!!) Think I will go and buy a tonic from the chemist. Already feeling better just by typing this. Hurrah !!!

Am I glad to see this back ("lite" version not good!!).

Day has started off reasonably although didn't walk children to school as we were running late owing to an awful night's sleep. Will walk the other two school runs later. Have also loked at a running website where they give you a programme to get into running (Walk 90 s, run 60 s sort of thing). Think I will do this in the gym and see how I get on.

Am on a mission to be more positive. I have come to realise in the last few weeks just what little self-confidence I have. So I am planning on doing a computer course and possibly A-level French. Looks more scary when it is written down.

Anyway.. will return to healthy food, always drink loads of water, booze will be very restricted and lotions and potions will be duly applied.

Now for some housework.
