WWW's six week 10year younger boot camp, WEEK SIX ALREADY

WWWCampbellBlack · 05/02/2007 07:27

This is WEEK SIX. I slacked towards the end of last week as did others...

I will start this again after half term too for anyone who wants to join in/start another six week regime.

The rules:

This is about feeling better about yourself...not necessarily a diet per se etc etc

  • Sunscreen at all times. I know it's winter, there are still rays trying to damage your skin
  • No or little booze. The odd glass of wine at the weekend is allowed if you want it
  • Walking is important, a small amount every day if possible. 30 mins if you can, I am booking out lunch hours where possible to do this
  • Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day
  • Apply body cream as often as possible. I am doing my heels daily too as they're lizard like
  • Use hand cream
  • Go to bed early, by 10.30pm if pos
  • Eat healthily
  • Be happy

The idea is that at the end of six weeks we all feel happier, healthier and glow with the good food, sleep, exercise, water and lack of sun damage.

You don't have to report back every day but I almost certainly will as it motivates me thinking someone is watching me.

Welcome all members old and new.

Oh very well done on the weight loss Batters!

What I'm thinking is that all the Boot Campers should meet up for a London Lunch sometime, such as the end of April or early May? As a reward.

Batters, I too have a lot more to lose! Well done

CAMy · 09/02/2007 12:22

Mineral water and lettuce?

That wouldn't be worth the journey

No, a reward......ie. the full 3 courses washed down with plenty of vino

WideWebWitch · 09/02/2007 17:09

Hello, hello!

Oh WELL DONE Winnie and Batters on the stone/s! Brilliant. Winnie, never mind about the driving test you'll get there. I know lots of people who took it more than once or twice. You know, I'm fast coming to the conclusion that even if life's rubbish this is a less stressful way of supporting myself, i.e. drinking less, eating well, being kind to myself, exercising a bit, getting enough sleep etc etc. Yoyo, peanut butter's nutritious though so that's good. Swedishmum, I thought you were Swedish too!

I have had an ok day
Granola
apple
hummus and roasted veg plait (360 cals)
apple
a few banana chips just now
and went out at lunchtime to a restaurant and just had mineral water and a laugh
no walking, may try to make up for it tomorrow
no sunscreen
2 litres water easily
and will have tandoori chicken and wine tonight

Re the half term front. Well, I am now on holiday from work for 10 days. This is what I am going to do:

I will drink wine tonight. And have a takeaway but I will have half a Tandoori chicken which isn't too bad. Tomorrow I will eat healthily and I will walk, using sunscreen. I will get enough sleep over the next 10 days, definitely. I may or may not drink, I will see how I feel each day. I will eat etc as a normal boot camp day on Monday and Tuesday until the evening, when I will be drinking. I have a friend staying on Weds and Thurs night who doesn't drink so (although she doesn't mind me drinking) I will drink a little but not much, or maybe not at all, I'll see. On Friday I don't know, I think I'll see how I feel.

So I am going to
eat healthily
walk as much if not more since I'm not at work and can do an hour if I want to (plus will be in countryside)
Sleep enough
use sunscreen
be happy

so bootcamp lite if you like. What I really DON'T want to do is a Christmas-like binge fest so that I feel totally crap and blobby at the end of half term. I want to feel relaxed but not sluggish. But it's up to you, if you want to start again on 19th that's fine. But I think I'll start a new thread this Sunday, which I'll call Week ONE (A) of the new six week 10yy camp and then we can all do it lite and post if we want to. It helps me if I think I've got to post my progress so I'd like it anyway. And then week commencing the 19th can be week 1 proper. Good idea?

I came home early because it was snowing and have run a bath with oils and stuff and dh and dd won't be back for about an hour, bliss. So I'm off to soak and read, after which I'll use body lotion etc, back later!

WideWebWitch · 09/02/2007 17:10

Oh and DEFINITELY to a 10yy thread London meet up and of course we'll drink wine! Or Cava! And we will eat what we like.

Should we say April? May?

Oati · 09/02/2007 17:27

I am very of those of you who have lost weight - I really must get my finger out.

Today has been terrible I have a migraine heeaache and feel queasy. Had to cut short
the Tesco shop halfway through and head for home, didn't go to the gym and didn't take ds2 for his swimming lesson.

Have lots of meat and hardly any veg - will have to finish teh shop at the weekend

WideWebWitch · 09/02/2007 19:33

Sorry you're feeling so rubbish Oati, I hope it goes soon.

Dh weighed me and I've lost 5 or 6lbs in the last week and a half (he said 6 then he said 5, hmm)! So I reckon maybe it's a stone for me too since starting this. Although I have a way to go too

but wow hey!

21st April then?

I drank loads of wine last night and ate some Maltesers but stuck to tandoori chicken and tandoori king prawns.

10.30 for me Batters, me too!

yoyo · 10/02/2007 11:01

I could probably do the 21st too. Need to make sure that DH is around to have the children though.

StrangeTown · 10/02/2007 12:54

Well done on the weight loss everyone. A stone is a real acheivement. I do find this easier, the whole lifestyle focus, rather that some sort of resticted diet.
Keep going with the driving Winnie, I would have no chance if I had to take my test now.

I am having avocado cravings at the moment, which I am happy to indulge. Typical that even the healthy stuff I like has to be high fat...

winnie · 10/02/2007 17:36

Strangetown I am eating avocado's and losing weight. I am the only one who will eat avocado's in this house so I know I am eating one a week at the moment. When dieting I never eat things like avocado. In all honesty I think I am losing weight because I am not dieting BUT I am eating very healthily and having a little of what I fancy now and again (last night I had 3 glasses of cabernet sauvignon sp? tomorrow I will have some Green & Blacks).

Oati, hope you are feeling better

WWW, I agree that this is a much nicer way of supporting oneself. I am a lifetime compulsive eater who deals with stress by stuffing my face BUT it's just made me feel and look cr*p... this is rewarding, makes me feel better about myself and actually making me look better.

This morning I caught a glimpse of myself in a mirror and I did a double take (and believe me I usually avoid mirrors like the plague) BUT my skin and hair looked great, really healthy. I couldn't believe it. Now I am not convinced it will last but I am hopeful.

Have a good weekend everyone

WideWebWitch · 11/02/2007 10:38

Winnie, nice to hear about the double take! and I agree about avocados, they're so good for you I think they should be included, absolutely. I have 2 in the fridge atm

well, not a great day yesterday but not that awful

bacon sandwich, ahem, with butter, yum for breakfast
fishfingers and peas for lunch
an apple
a piece of Toblerone
a crayfish, salmon and rocket sandwich (380 cals)
130 cals worth of 3 bean salad
some water, prob not enough

no wine as dh went to bed at 5pm pleading a stomach ache (wimp) and so I put dd to bed, went to Tesco at 8.30 and didn't get back til gone nine by which time there didn't seem any point
went to bed with a pile of magazines at 10.30, read til 11.30 and slept in til 8.30 this morning so that was nice
no walking
no sunscreen

But am going to put my trainers on in a minute and walk at least 2 miles with sunscreen to make up for it. And I don't think I'll drink tonight either. I'll start thread 1A of the new six wk10yy plan later today and then we can all do it lite over half term if we want to.

hunkermunker · 11/02/2007 12:02

Hello, WWW. I think I'll do this. Might make me go to bed earlier if nothing else!

Monkeytrousers · 11/02/2007 12:07

Are we having another round - I have finally got my arse into gear?

WideWebWitch · 11/02/2007 12:44

Of course you can join you two, will start week 1a of boot camp lite in a bit, that should ease you in slowly.

I have just walked at least 2.5 miles, with sunscreen
have puy lentils cooking
ate half an egg mayo sandwich
only 250 cal of Granola for breakfast though so that's ok

NEW THREAD, WEEK 1A, BOOT CAMP LITE HERE

Thanks Batters, it knackered me, came back v hot and bothered but it was def 2.5 miles, 2 of them I've clocked in the car. You know if I miss even one day of walking (and I didn't do Friday or yesterday) I def find it a lot harder the next time.
