WWW's six week 10year younger boot camp, WEEK SIX ALREADY

WWWCampbellBlack · 05/02/2007 07:27

This is WEEK SIX. I slacked towards the end of last week as did others...

I will start this again after half term too for anyone who wants to join in/start another six week regime.

The rules:

This is about feeling better about yourself...not necessarily a diet per se etc etc

  • Sunscreen at all times. I know it's winter, there are still rays trying to damage your skin
  • No or little booze. The odd glass of wine at the weekend is allowed if you want it
  • Walking is important, a small amount every day if possible. 30 mins if you can, I am booking out lunch hours where possible to do this
  • Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day
  • Apply body cream as often as possible. I am doing my heels daily too as they're lizard like
  • Use hand cream
  • Go to bed early, by 10.30pm if pos
  • Eat healthily
  • Be happy

The idea is that at the end of six weeks we all feel happier, healthier and glow with the good food, sleep, exercise, water and lack of sun damage.

You don't have to report back every day but I almost certainly will as it motivates me thinking someone is watching me.

Welcome all members old and new.

Well, that's agreed then, another six weeks from half term to easter, will start it on Sunday. Blimey. I intend to drop another dress size in that time.

I really am doing quite well if I report here, it's helping to spur me on I think. And I've walked on most week days since starting this so that's 5 days a week x 6weeks = 30 times thirty minutes = 15 hours walking since this thread started. Maybe there've been the odd day when I didn't do it but still, even if it's ten hours it's something. And the first day it was very painful and I didn't even manage a mile in 15 mins but now I'm doing it easily so my fitness has definitely improved. And I have mostly been managing to not drink in the week too (with 4 exceptions I think) so that's 26 alcohol free days. And 2 litres of water a day mostly + 4/5 portions of fruit and veg.

I was idly wondering today about getting a personal trainer to do pilates or something to show me how to work on my stomach muscles because they are non existent and that doesn't help at all and I fantasise about a flatter stomach.

I also had echinacea, multi vitamin and milk thistle tablets this morning.

Oati, kwym about carbs, had potatoes tonight they were gorgeous, as was the sea bass.

Well done everyone and here you go

Morning all

Yes please to another 6 weeks www if you can put up with us!

I feel like I've only just started, I'm looking at this as a long term thing at the present time.

I'll sit in the chair so you guys don't have to as I'm more likely to win the lottery than get caught at my age

Had spinach and cottage cheese for brunch
1 glass oj
1.5 cups of coffee

Will be doing aerobics and stretching later.

I'm allowing myself to feel marginally chuffed as have had compliments from two 10 year old girls this week: one said to dd "Your mummy is really pretty" (she must need glasses) and the other one said after a group of dd's friends were discussing their mummy's ages "I don't believe your mummy is that old" (she can't imagine anyone being that old having a schoolage kid)

Love and peace to all

StrangeTown · 08/02/2007 15:59

I would like to carry on with this too please.
Have had a cr*p day already though, I need taking in hand...I have had a scone and a bar of Bourneville.
I am having fish, rice and veg for tea to compensate.

My skin is dull and dingy at moment, which facial exfoliator was recommended on one of the earlier threads please? Was it Origins?
Thanks

Oati · 08/02/2007 16:11

Does having a snowball fight count as exercise - at least it was fresh air

WideWebWitch · 08/02/2007 18:13

Oh NICE compliments Cam! Well done on the walking Batters. Oati, me too, it was lovely.

a bad day ish but fairly high on happiness quotient

2 pieces wholemeal toast with loads of butter, dipped into wonderful soft boiled egg. Only ate the yolk and the toast and it was gorgeous. All of us had it together as we were off school/work/nursery because of the snow
a packet of Wotsits
lunch was 3 sausages at 130 cal each, sweet potato mash and a tsp of beans (don't like them much was just finishing what was in saucepan really)
sweet popcorn, oops
we watched Hoodwinked and Monster House on the projector, liked the former and missed some of MH due to taking phone calls but an enjoyable afternoon
walked, but only about 10 mniutes, with the children in the snow
used sunscreen
prob not enough water but have 1ltr next to me and will prob manage that before bed time
Having half a PE margherita tonight, that's only 300 cals
no wine but a tad tempted to later as may not have to work tomorrow if travel conditions stay the same etc and am on holiday next week, yay!

All in all it's been a lovely cosy family day and I'm now in bed with the laptop and a book I've only just started but am enjoying called Garlic and Sapphires, the secret life of food critic in disguise.

Oati · 08/02/2007 18:18

Yes it certainly has been a good day on the happiness front

I have put a couple of pics of our snowman on my profile - must have burnt a few calories building him.

WideWebWitch · 08/02/2007 18:32

VERY good snowman Oati! My children gave up and dh mostly made our snowman.

Oati · 08/02/2007 18:36

good heavens, the kids didn't build him - dh did most of the work, I did the face and accessories. The kids mostly ran around snowballing

Me too on 10 days off, whoopee!

StrangeTown · 08/02/2007 20:04

Thanks Batters, I use Dermalogica moisturiser already so may have a sample of that somewhere.
Nice Snowman Oati.
Enjoy your break WWW and Batters - make sure you do something for yourselves too!

Batters, done! If I've got to this time without a glass of wine I can do it very easily! Agree, warm Cava, ewww. (do you buy it by the case or truckload btw, you always seem to have some?!)

Happiness quota was in the minus range yesterday as I failed my driving test for the 2nd time in two weeks. I am so with self and so frustrated. I think I am going to lose my nerve Also had massive row with dd

Everything else is going well. Water intake hight, alcohol intake non existant for last two weeks, exercise, lots of fruit and veg; multi-vits and minerals, echinicea, & zinc tablets; cleansing, moisturising (generally pampering self lots). Got on the scales yeaterday and I have lost 1 stone since I started this!

CAMy · 09/02/2007 10:28

Congrats on the weight loss winnie

re driving test but don't give up, it'll be 3rd time lucky

www and batters, I too am off next week for half-term, will we still be in the Boot Camp or are we re-starting the following week?

Oh and happy belated birthday to swedishmum

Are you Swedish, btw?

swedishmum · 09/02/2007 10:36

CAMy, I'm not Swedish at all - changed my name when we were living there a few years ago and never changed it back. Ridiculous really.

Have a great half term everyone.

yoyo · 09/02/2007 11:38

Well done Winnie on the weight loss. That is fantastic. Keep at it with the driving - you will pass so don't give up. Think how wonderful it will be when you do.

Sinus problem persists. Have been good regardless although I did just have a slice of peanutbutter on toast which I haven't had in ages. Lovely.
