WWW's six week 10year younger boot camp, WEEK SIX ALREADY

WWWCampbellBlack · 05/02/2007 07:27

This is WEEK SIX. I slacked towards the end of last week as did others...

I will start this again after half term too for anyone who wants to join in/start another six week regime.

The rules:

This is about feeling better about yourself...not necessarily a diet per se etc etc

  • Sunscreen at all times. I know it's winter, there are still rays trying to damage your skin
  • No or little booze. The odd glass of wine at the weekend is allowed if you want it
  • Walking is important, a small amount every day if possible. 30 mins if you can, I am booking out lunch hours where possible to do this
  • Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day
  • Apply body cream as often as possible. I am doing my heels daily too as they're lizard like
  • Use hand cream
  • Go to bed early, by 10.30pm if pos
  • Eat healthily
  • Be happy

The idea is that at the end of six weeks we all feel happier, healthier and glow with the good food, sleep, exercise, water and lack of sun damage.

You don't have to report back every day but I almost certainly will as it motivates me thinking someone is watching me.

Welcome all members old and new.

I'm here, hello, top of the evening to you all

Sorry, yesterday I was being far too healthy to post, did aerobics, made some lovely food such as rocket and baby leaf salad with chili prawns.

Today have been eating quite healthily except for a couple of teeny weeny sausage rolls.

Alcohol, no, am feeling far too sober for my liking over the past few days but I know its good for me.

Batters, Paris in February? Well you'll use up all your calories keeping warm if you go any where near it. Heard its snowing over in France, we got a little here today and its freezing cold.

www, why the name change?

WWWCampbellBlack · 06/02/2007 20:27

Oh well done Cam.
The name change is in homage to Jilly Cooper and her wonderful hero Rupert Campbell Black, prompted by this thread

Ooh everyone is doing very well.
Not doing so bad the past few days.
No alcohol (just found out I am pregnant).
Lots of veg.
Just made apple and blackberry crumble, my thinking is that this is health neutral, the fruit cancelling out the sugar and butter.

Still can't summon up the courage for them there goji things...

WWWCampbellBlack · 06/02/2007 20:33

Oh congratulations Strangetown!

CAMy · 06/02/2007 20:38

Congrats StrangeTown

www, there are too many people getting pregnant on this thread for my liking, is it the "pregnancy chair" of mumsnet

WWWCampbellBlack · 06/02/2007 20:40

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! >>>>>>

StrangeTown · 06/02/2007 20:40

Thank you very much. I am nervous as hell, but it has focused my healthy eating and body maintenance.

StrangeTown · 06/02/2007 20:41

Watch where you sit WWW...

StrangeTown · 06/02/2007 20:41

This is your thread afterall...

swedishmum · 06/02/2007 22:19

I haven't had a great day. Latte from M and S though hardly touched it (I seem to have lost the taste - will stick to double expresso or Americano) , then Carluccio's lemon and chicken risotto (though left a tiny bit!!) - lots of water though. On a positive note I wasn't embarrassed about my feet in LK Bennett on shopping trip with dd3 so am wearing some rather lovely but impractical half price pink suede high heels right now.

unknownrebelbang · 06/02/2007 22:33

ooh, I sort of forgot about this thread (or series of threads, lol).

I've tried to be better at bedtimes, not always successfully.

I have been very good at eating lots of fruit and more water.

I've cut down on less healthy food, but there's still room for improvement.

I have began using my exercise bike, and shock horror for the first time in YEARS I have been to keep fit tonight!

I may not look ten years younger, but I certainly feel a lot healthier and I have lost 5 lbs so far.

swedishmum · 07/02/2007 06:14

I'm 43 today . Very tired as the dog kept waking me up. Got a couple of friends round for lunch so I'll lay off the one-cal in the cooking today.

WWWCampbellBlack · 07/02/2007 07:15

Happy Birthday Swedishmum! Enjoy. Wb unknownrelbang.

Oooh. Everybody's back. . Congratulations strangetown!

I've been good. Went to the gym and did lots of new scary equipment.

At the risk of sounding like I've gone completely over to the other side, I had a Spirulina Ginseng ball for breakfast. It was foisted on me by the Goji juice lady. I was staring at it askance this morning when DD helpfully packed it into my bag.

It looked highly dubious and when I opened it it was a dodgy spinach green colour inside. I braced myself for the worst but it turned out to be nice. REALLY nice. I must stop assuming that anything sold in a health food store is revolting. So, I discovered spirulina today.

Whe I got home I checked out its credentials and apparently it's algae. And I ATE it. . Evil health store.

Moving swiftly on from my dalliance with algae, my wine tasting course starts tomorrow.

yoyo · 07/02/2007 09:54

Happy birthday Swedishmum.

Arfishy - algae? Think I'll pass on that one.

StrangeTown - congrats.

WWW - how is your cold? Mine is lingering and I am sick of it. Pilates was an ordeal yesterday with my head throbbing. Breathing deeply and feeling the expansion in my ribs (!!) was nigh on impossible.

Doing all the right stuff this week. Blaming cold for my crap, 10 years older than I am look.

StrangeTown · 07/02/2007 11:06

lol at Arfishy Ginseng Ball. It even sounds evil, like a martial arts weapon, but still, well done. .

Thanks for all good wishes I am v v nervous, but happy, aww.

foundintranslation · 07/02/2007 11:16

Just dropping in to wave and say hello - I'm afraid I've fallen by the wayside a bit due to pg exhaustion (oooh, congratulations StrangeTown! ), but I'm still managing to eat pretty healthily. Nausea is more or less gone again, but I'm not worried as I wasn't sick at all with ds (plus I had a scan on Monday ) - I'm just very tired and there are a few things I love usually I have very definitely gone off (can't face boiled eggs, or coffee, or filled pasta). I look a mess, but am off work atm and although still tired, I'm beginning to feel a bit less run down iykwim.

Happy birthday Swedishmum Sympathy to all those with colds. ds had a nasty-ish one last week.

EnidLloydFoxe · 07/02/2007 11:18

i have had very little booze (apart from one disgraceful episode)
hot water and lemon every morning
apples instead of leftovers
olay total effects moisturiser
hair cut and highlights

winnie · 07/02/2007 16:52

Everything is going well.
AND I actually did some exercise yesterday... I am constantly tired which I've been putting ddown to stress BUT I am becoming convinced my tiredness is actually due to all of the extra weight I am carrying around

happy birthday swedishmum.

good luck all

WWWCampbellBlack · 07/02/2007 18:22

My cold was gone days ago, only lasted from what, last Tuesday to Friday, more or less. Sorry you're still feeling full of it Yoyo.

Winnie, are you getting enough sleep? I agree re weight, I pick dd up and think omg...

Arfy, arfy, arfy, you just keep raising that bar, ginseng algae ball indeed!

Batters, I will also be v pissed off if there's a pregnancy chair on this thread , glad you had a good day.

I had an ok day

Granola
apple
smoked salmon sandwich
2 litres water easily
walked 30 mins with sunscreen at luncgtime
hazelnut and sultana bar (115 cals)
and have sea bass in the oven with lemon, capers, anchovies
and baby potatoes with skins on and carrots and green beans roasting
no wine
took make up off last night
used body cream all over
although went to bed too late, must do better tonight

and I feel overall glossier and healthier I think. DH reckons I absolutely look and feel better. But my skirt isn't that loose this morning and it was last week so I think that's the excess of the weekend

Right, well, this is week six, nearly over. I think I've been pretty good actually and I'm still highly motivated to start another thread after half term. I am enjoying feeling better too. Who's up for another six weeks?

OP posts:
yoyo · 07/02/2007 19:50

I'm up for 6 months actually WWW!

Oati · 07/02/2007 19:54

hmmm a bit of a rubbish day for me - this cold weather seems to make me crave carbs - no need to say any more

and I still have my cold

swedishmum · 07/02/2007 20:19

Bad food day - could hardly serve one-cal roasted veg to my friends! Lovely cake rolled in crushed flake. Dd2 and DH are away so having a quiet evening. We'll celebrate together on Saturday.

winnie · 07/02/2007 20:21

I am definitely up for another six weeks and if that is after half term that will take us nicely to Easter. Good heaven's I am wishing the year away already
