Ooooh. More details re pony loafers please Chickens!

Cremolafoam · 27/09/2016 18:51

Yes, JM they sound divine. I was telling my niece about your Fashion trip and she was Envy. She is desperate for a career in fashion ( prob. As a buyer or maker) 2000 photos sounds crazybut sounds like you had a brilliant time.
Monty love the excitement of an eBay "kill". Good luck with your shopping!
I will be listing a lot of jewellery and decent clothes soon. When I stop feeling like s#!+ up a ditch with menopausal freakery. I am boiled like an Icelandic geyser and tired like a fainting goat today.

bigTillyMint · 27/09/2016 19:09

Chickens, the fashion shoot sounds fab. And the loafers - proper S&B!

I hate doing ebay - such a faff. I am trying to sell DM's old spinning wheel on my local forum - much easier, but understandably there is not much of a market for it!

MrsSchadenfreude · 27/09/2016 20:12

I had to sit in with DD2 last night while she made a statement to the police regarding a case the police are investigating. I was proud of her - it can't have been easy, but she was clear and self composed. And this is something that will be hanging over her for probably the best part of a year before it comes to court. I was in work today, and my colleagues, who all have younger kids, and were whining about little Johnny's Mandarin School on Saturday and little Arabella's ballet exam, and thought, you have no fucking idea what's to come. Whoever said big kids = big problems was right.

Grinat the old spinning wheel BTM.

Mrs S - so right about teenagers. I reckon I can spot some future terrors in my class. Well done to your DD - very daunting to have to make a police statement. Anyway, have a fantastic holiday.

Auriga · 27/09/2016 21:49

V glad you were proud of DD2 MrsS & I'm sure you told her, which is a lot more than either of our mothers would have done.

DD got pulled out of registration today by her politics teacher, who just wanted to say, your essay made my day and I'm giving you full marks for it Grin. Teachers didn't do that when I was at school.

Relieved that DD got clean bill of health from dentist today. Also, DH drove to Ebbsfleet to pick up a colleague of mine, entirely unknown to him, & deliver her home, because I was working and couldn't go. So I am greatly cheered up. Work was good too.

Hattie & Crem, re: straight talking to parents, I do understand that it's very different when they don't live with you. I wasn't making a suggestion, just commenting on what I did. Putting up with it wasn't an option for me, it was poisoning our family life.

Been watching clips from Oliver with DD. Big fun.

addle · 27/09/2016 22:53

Well done to Mrs S's and Auriga's dds!

Mrs S - have wonderful holiday. No thoughts of the office - hope they don't have contact details

Sorry about the job Crem. Is really rotten. I have odddays like that but am v lucky they are only days and not too often.

Sodding Haringey didn't pay poor dd today (end of her first month). Said her forms (submitted a month ago) weren't ok but even though she had asked if they were now ok, didn't let her know. She was SO upset. Working really hard, horrible cold and now this. And she's lucky - at least she's at home with family who can help her

We watched most of Julien Temple's London Babylon tonight as family. Can recommend, was fun. Still on iplayer for a bit.

herbaceous · 27/09/2016 23:08

Haringey (which autocorrect wanted to change to 'harbinger', amusingly) is my employee too. Their HR department has severe arse/elbow differentiation issues. I still don't have a contract, after a year, or a job description. My salary is all over the shop. Apparently they have a new system, whereby rather than allocating a particular HR person to deal with a particular department, they have a centralised email 'bank' where everything gets sent,,then the problems are then selected at random to deal with. Or not deal with, as is more usually the case.

Spent today Buggering up my chances of getting this job. Recruitment consultant wanted some samples of work. Nothing was in PDF format, natch, so I tried to scan some stuff in. Scanner didn't work. So I took photos of each page and emailed them. They bounced back. So I made them into PDFs. And they bounced back. So now I'm assuming the problem is with her server, and once it's fixed she's going to get a face full of my drivel, like a spray of manure from a farm tanker.

addle · 28/09/2016 07:10

Herbs - I may not pass that on. Yes she said the person she spoke to had never seen her emails but didn't sound interested either. Am hoping she can get school and T.First behind her.

Fingers crossed that the fountain of herbs is just what recruitment consultant wants. You probably don't want to think about it any longer but could you use something like dropbox?

bigTillyMint · 28/09/2016 07:12

Full marks, Auriga? Well done her!

And well done to your DD2, MrsS.

Addle, I am sadly not surprised - our LA is similarly crap. It will get sorted out (tell her to go and see the admin officer at her school who should be able to help) but IMHE LA's don't know their arses from their elbows on most frontsAngry
Ah, I see Herbs has offered similar adviceGrin

motherinferior · 28/09/2016 08:01

Herbs, ring her this morning and explain too?

Eye less painful but still swollen which means it's slightly hard to see ( the lid blurring the vision, not a vision problem per se). More I solved a computer problem yesterday on my own. Unreasonably pleased with self.Grin

bigTillyMint · 28/09/2016 08:09

Don't tell the family, MI, or they will look to you as the computer expert

MrsSchadenfreude · 28/09/2016 09:22

Remarkably swift check in and Secy clearance. Now having breakfast. DH has beer. Because he can.

Bon voyage, MrsS!

Lalsy · 28/09/2016 11:04

MrsS, have a lovely time.

Herbs, yep use dropbox or gdrive and share the linkee with them. It isn't your fault if they have set their settings like that, given they are a recruitment agency.

Sorry, haven't caught up - I keep trying to post from phone and then it loses it so I don't know where I am. I may rejoin 21C tomorrow or Friday, BT willing.

Cremolafoam · 28/09/2016 11:56

Oh Herbs and Addle, what a nightmare . The curious machinations of local ed boards are legendary here. I keep a framed photo of my application for a grant in 1984 which displays a list of items all sitting at £0.00 , with a big total at the bottom of £0.00. What a bloody waste of time and money.
Wishing you both better luck at getting what is owed.

Bon voyage lovely Mrs S. Have a jolly holiday. And LTB in transit , if he gets drunk and lairy.Grin
Sorry about eye MI. Sending healing vibes.{{}}}
Rose I have indulged using the wonderful voucher at NOTHS. Delighted and cheered.Flowers
Off to string of medical appointments today. Ddad improving very slowly. Care assistants only provided for dressing and toileting. No showering, lifting, using wheelchair or .propping up of patient. They come for a maximum of 15 minutes at a time. It is a riidiculous waste of resources if you sae where M&D live. Ridiculous! DM wants to get us to France week after next. ShockDad booked into dsis for duration.

Blackduck · 28/09/2016 16:01

OMG I have got a job interview....... I am not sure the commute is doable, but it's an interview nonetheless.......

Stropperella · 28/09/2016 16:19

Yay BD!!!! WineStarWine

motherinferior · 28/09/2016 16:26

Hurrah for BD!

I have heard that someone I knew not very well but for over 20 years died very suddenly on holiday a few weeks ago. Funeral next week, locally. I should go, really.

Eye improving.

Two bits of useful info from this lunchtime when I 'nipped to the shops':

(a) bumped into lovely young woman I know who is just starting her final year of English and Theatre Studies at Warwick, if anyone wants to put their offspring in touch with her via me (she's OK with this!)
(b) Lidl is doing prosecco in cheap bottles with a screw top.

bigTillyMint · 28/09/2016 16:48

Excellent, BDWine

Prosecco in a screw-top bottle? Whatever next?!

motherinferior · 28/09/2016 16:53

Those of us afflicted with non-drinking partners can luxuriate, BTM!

Talking of drinking was there a vague date this weekend?

motherinferior · 28/09/2016 16:54

And DP and I slept in separate rooms yesterday. His was in Newcastle.Grin I had a fabulous night, him less so as he was opposite a night club.

hattymattie · 28/09/2016 16:59

Yay - go BD.

GiddyGiddyGoat · 28/09/2016 18:51

Laters. X

Cremolafoam · 28/09/2016 19:02
