Am I too skinny?

I want you to be totally honest.
Do I look too thin?
I always get comments insinuating that I musnt eat much etc.
Would be nice to get people's opinions who if they walked past me in the street what would they think?
Could I do with adding some extra weight?
I don't mind honesty either.

Actually the breasts give you curves and balance, but as they are implants, without those curves, your body would probably look too slim.

Very very slim people, often don't have large chests, because it is partly a fat supply aswell, so once their fat surpluses have been depleted, it often goes from the chest aswell.

Of course there are exceptions to the rule, sometimes very skinny ladies, do have large chests, but not that often.

When someone is too slim you can see it in their feet, legs, hands, arms, neck, face. All over often.
I suspect This is what people see. You can't see it, and the chest disguises it, but it may well visible to others, that just think you may be a tiny bit too slim?

Is that possible?

marriednotdead · 11/09/2016 22:32

Good luck with your pregnancy OP, and FWIW I think you look slim and proportioned Smile

Bibbity It is unusual to be slim and have large breasts. I totally disagree. My work brings me into direct contact with big breasted women every day and proportionally, there are as many 28 and 30 bands with large cup sizes as there are bigger band (and therefore body) sizes.

marriednotdead · 11/09/2016 22:33

I missed a word. Natural!

bibbitybobbityyhat · 11/09/2016 22:36

What is your job marriednotdead?

Lweji · 11/09/2016 22:41

Well, according to your figures, you have a BMI of around 18, or 17.5 if you take away 4 pounds for the breasts, so WHO underweight.

But, so was I when I got pregnant (I've gained a bit now I'm over 40). My pregnancy went very well. DS had a perfectly normal weight and he's a healthy 11 year old boy.

You look fine to me. :)

If you're healthy and feel fine, don't worry.

lougle · 11/09/2016 22:50

You can't go on BMI if you've got implants unless you take the weight of the implants off. You're slightly underweight. Objectively. But if you eat well there isn't much you can do.

Oblomov16 · 11/09/2016 23:22

I think there may be things you can do if you are underweight. Possibly start with GP checks to see if any medical issues, any specific vitamins and minerals needed.
One of ds1's friends at secondary is so underweight he's under the dietician/nutritionist/someone and is taking supplements and done sort of protein shake thing daily.
And being advised to force himself to eat a tiny bit more each day each week, than we would naturally choose to do, to increase appetite slowly and stretch the stomach.

I think. That's some of the basics, not very technically explained.

So I think there is things that can be done.

Although pregnancy changes things a bit obviously.

marriednotdead · 12/09/2016 00:09

I'm a bra fitter.

SarfEast1cated · 12/09/2016 00:17

Yes I think you look healthily slim, not bony, legs a good shape - relax and enjoy it!

Happyasapigin · 12/09/2016 08:51

I think I eat well.
Breakfast normally a banana and scrambled egg
Snack-kit Kat
Lunch -some sort of sandwich or jacket potato and another banana or melon
Tea- a roast or mince and dumplings or something along those lines
Night time - toast and jam and maybe chocolate or popcorn if we watch a film
Obviously it changes on a Sunday we normally go to the Toby for a breakfast or lunch or in the summer it's fish and chips at the beach

OP, you have a similar shape to me. Your shoulders are slightly wider than your hips. You don't look thin, no. Look slim to me.

SapphireStrange · 13/09/2016 11:13

On your diet, OP, I wonder if you could eat more protein and fat? (obviously you haven't said what you have on your jacket potatoes/sandwiches, so you could already be eating loads – sorry if so!).

I'm just thinking that you sound a bit like me (slim, always hungry) and for me, what fills me up the most is fat and good protein – so things like grainy toast for breakfast with salmon pate and/or avocado; nut butters as a snack on crackers or dipped in fruit and veg; more oily fish or something else protein-filled for lunch (tuna on a baked potato, or a chicken sandwich).

Vintagegirl1 · 13/09/2016 11:45

100% agree with bibbity on this thread. My sister is very slim and quite tall 5'7. She tells everyone she is naturally like that but in reality she hardly eats and chain smokes. I think your top half looks fine op but personally I think your legs look a bit skinny.

AmberGreyson · 13/09/2016 12:03

i don't think that you are skinny i have the same figure

wowfudge · 13/09/2016 12:14

Hmm - I think some of the comments on this thread are pretty unkind to the OP. I agree you could probably eat more protein and good fats to fill you up. That will stop the blood sugar fluctuations you get from eating carbs which then make you feel hungry.

OCSockOrphanage · 13/09/2016 12:36

You look great. Slender is about right, and for your weight is fine for your height. I was similar size at your age, and remain reasonably shapely at 60, with a few pounds added at the midriff thanks to the post-menopause metabolic slowing, which is sadly normal. When I had my one child, at 43, I gained 27lb all told and was back in pre-pregnancy jeans inside a month, without trying. Eat well, stay fit and ignore the critics.

damngirl · 13/09/2016 12:39

I don't think you look skinny at all TBH. I think you look normal. I like your top!

Findmuckery · 13/09/2016 12:44

You've got a lovely figure. I like your top too

augustusglupe · 13/09/2016 12:45

I get this all the time OP I'm naturally very slim and 5 ft 9. The times I just want to say....'as opposed to being short and fat like you' but of course we can't comment on fat people can we Hmm
Back to you....you look fantastic, I'm small in the boob area and would kill for your figure!! And you look so glam!! Methinks people making the comments are just a bit jealous!!
You look fantastic!!

Owllady · 13/09/2016 12:52

I would tell your friends you don't want to hear comments like that off them again. They must know you are insecure? It's quite obvious when someone is Angry or get yourself some new friends!

All of you on here going on about body shape (either way, fat or thin) are just as bad

Work on your confidence op and self esteem. You'll feel heaps better for doing it

TheCaptainsCat · 13/09/2016 13:22

I can't believe there are people saying your legs look too skinny! I don't think you look skinny at all, more at the slimmer end of normal. I am thinner than you are but don't get comments like this (at least not since I left school), you must know some daft people!

ageingrunner · 13/09/2016 14:07

Also: too skinny for what? They obviously do the job of stopping the op's arse scraping on the ground. That's what legs are for isn't it?

NewNameNows · 13/09/2016 14:28

You look great. Please enjoy what you have now cause once your older you might find you gain weight much more easily and will look back at this photo and realise how great you did look and that others opinions shouldnt matter.

budgetsbonus · 13/09/2016 15:03

youre not too skinny. you look on the skinny side of slim. you look great.

WaitrosePigeon · 13/09/2016 15:07

You look completely and utterly normal to me. Your Implants look too big for your frame though, but that could be the angle.
