Can we have a coat thread?

Perhaps we could share coats we've just bought, planning to buy or simply admiring? When do the main ranges start filtering through? I seem to remember the decent ones selling out in Sept so you have to be quick.

After pregnancy and breastfeeding for years I really need several new - a non frumpy rain mac, a trench? A warm winter every day coat, a couple of flattering smart wool coats (navy and light grey?) and something else lightweight and casual!

Particularly keen to discover lovely wool coats as not found any yet!

The ted baker coat that is linked to above is always in the Bicester outlet store in various lengths and colours....

I do love a coat thread, want many that have been linked to!

North Face Metropolis parka for dry freezing cold ( it's heaven), Uniqlo lightweight down parka for Autumn chill, Didriksons parka for biting cold and rain/sleet, Seasalt Hellweathers for spring/summer/early Autumn rain (it's a great, proudly waterproof mac). I definitely err towards function over style because I walk in all weathers every day.

Does anyone know if you can still get hold of the merrell ellenwood/Wakefield but the version without insulation??

bigbuttons · 24/08/2016 09:11

I love the look of the Didriksons

Statelychangers · 24/08/2016 09:52

Seriously tempted Wax riding coat

Laquila · 24/08/2016 10:18

Didriksons are bloody brilliant bigbuttons

I was wondering if I should treat myself to a new coat, when the house insurance reminder lands on my mat. Damn. It is more than the coat. Grrr.

Simply Nigella, that's a good website. I like the Joseph man coats but over budget so still on the lookout for a camel or light brown one.

Laquila · 24/08/2016 11:06

bingo I think you and I have similar coat taste/priorities!

I really like the idea of the Hellweather - light, waterproof and long - but it looks a bit shiny in the photos? Which colour do you have?

Lorelei76 · 24/08/2016 12:01

Chicken, I am in love with that Ted Baker coat but nowhere near Bicester.

Do you happen to have noticed what kind of price they have on it? I will have to weigh that up vs the trip! and find somewhere to try it on first...
