One of them there "sort my life out" threads

I'm looking for one of the threads for general S&B self-improvement threads, a bit like the princess ones there used to be.

For the record I'm planning to cut out alcohol completely for a while. I have a social thing tomorrow where I'll probably have a glass of wine or two but after that will cut out. Also doing as much yoga as I can to tone up a bit (finding inner leave along the way would be lovely too).

Does anyone know if there are any threads like this running atm?

Well done on your healthy day Karcheer! need I hope your day was a bit less hectic though doesn't sound like it will have been Confused.

Well, diet has gone out the window a bit today. I had a bacon sandwich for breakfast and then toast, grapes and Greek yoghurt for lunch! I'm on my way to London now on horrible crowded train. Looking forward to a Wine when I get there. Will behave tomorrow I swear. Also will be doing a little bit of walking today. Had a 25 min walk to station and will be walking in London too. It's something I suppose and I have been quite good this week.

Hope everyone has a nice evening!

Hi

Have a fab evening Stevie after no sleep thanks to the thunder, I'm going to go to bed before DS at this rate.

I didn't do PO or feet, but friends came here after school as it was all so soggy so I did clean the whole downstairs!

Nice day out planned tomorrow.

FrustratedFrugal · 16/09/2016 20:27

Hi all - lovely to see that the thread is still going strong!

I'm back from my work trip. It was fantastic and really stimulating, but lots of sitting. I met my exercise goal (walked every morning between 7 and 8 am and one 10k). Eating did not go well, the place where I stayed offered a full breakfast and lunches and dessert. And I cannot say no to croissants and cheesecake... I weighed myself tonight and it looks pretty scary. But I am often a bit bloated after a trip anyway.

Slipped up with wine too. Last night we were stuck on the tarmac for two hours because of the storm. I started talking to the guy next to me. He offered me drinks and I because we had just been told that we would land at 2am I said yes Wink

This evenings been a bit of a food flop. Had a relatively healthy Chinese micro meal (cooked in the oven), 6 almonds, one duck wrap, 5 mini chocolate crunchy things, and a third of a light packet of crisps.
And half a can of Coke Zero.

I've really tried, but felt starving!

SteviebunsBottrittrundle · 16/09/2016 23:06

Hi all! Just on my way back from London. Had a lovely evening but don't even want to know how many calories I consumed Blush.

Yes need the thunder and rain last night were so loud! Kept us awake too.

Hope everyone has had nice evenings. I'm looking forward to my bed!

Looks like winter has arrived! Just ordered myself some undies, DD some trousers for weekends - she'd live in leggings, but gets too cold for just those. Also need to take DS to get a dressing gown and slippers.

Was planning on taking a picnic today but way too chilly so guessing I'll end up with a burger and chips or similar Grin oh well!

Hope you had a fun evening Stevie, sometimes that's more important.

It's the colder weather and sheer exhaustion Karcheer - I had 2 whispa's last night Blush

FrustratedFrugal · 17/09/2016 17:25

Costa it feels like winter here too. Sad Overcast and chilly.

Stevie your night out sounded lovely!

Karcheer sometimes your body just needs more food! I've felt a bit like that yesterday and today. I had a pizza for supper although I rarely need a full meal in the evening.

DH's half marathon was today. It went really well. We went to watch him. My activity today: 17k steps.

NeedACostaDetox · 18/09/2016 07:52

Happy Sunday

Very overcast and chilly looking here. I'm off for a jog as soon as I get off my bum to get dressed...

Have a good day all.

GoNorthDarren · 18/09/2016 18:40

Evening!

I thought it was about time for a name change, but hopefully you'll be able to guess who it is.

I hope everyone has had a lovely weekend. After my night out on Friday and the train back I think I'm about ready to say "never again" to nights out in London! It's just so expensive going out there and getting there and travelling anywhere in the city just seems so long-winded. It was a really lovely evening though.

Today was such a lovely family day. I really enjoyed it. DD refused to nap again today despite a very busy day and so is shattered and already in bed!

We are off on our 'summer' holiday next weekend, so I will be doing some extra self care things this week (body brushing like hell and one of those gradual fake tan things), doing at least one DVD workout per day and trying to sort out my diet again after a great weekend with not-so-great-for-my-diet food...

FrustratedFrugal · 18/09/2016 19:22

GoNorth your pre-trip plans sound great - and what a lovely thing to look forward to!

Costa hope that the weather improved!

We've had a lovely sunny day and I clocked 20k steps. My eating is more or less back on track, and I am currently a kilo above my pre-trip weight - so a week or two of clean living should sort it out. I will check my weekly steps totals tomorrow but feeling pretty pleased - a work trip did not undo all the hard work. No wine over the weekend!

NeedACostaDetox · 18/09/2016 20:11

Nice new name Wink

London is such a bleep in the behind. The children really love going in, but it's an hour on the train for us! Hoping to take them in in November and do some of the Merlin stuff that we can do for free like the aquarium etc

We had a good day, did my run and a bit of pilates.

I need to get on the scales again - maybe this week. Don't own any now, but think that's good.

I have started baking for my birthday Grin maybe the scales should wait another week or so!

GoNorthDarren · 18/09/2016 20:19

Birthday need?! It must be soon, if you're baking for it. Some birthday CakeFlowers for you in that case!

Yes, I love London but it's a faff. The trains are so crowded and slow from where I live too.

Glad you like the name. It's from one of the shows I went to at the Fringe last month Grin.

I really should get rid of my bathroom scales. They are completely unreliable anyway, so don't know why I use them anymore.

Well done on jog need and on managing to stay healthy on the trip frustrated.

Karcheer · 18/09/2016 20:27

I've been decorating today so I've made no effort beauty wise.
Food wise has been dreadful too.

No week starts tmr...

NeedACostaDetox · 18/09/2016 21:02

Tuesday, but I need to bake 2 more layers tomorrow... will post a picture once it's done. Baking it and letting the children decorate.

Anyone princessing then? 100 days to Christmas??? how???

GoNorthDarren · 18/09/2016 21:14

Yes, I'm on the princess thread need but have been a bit rubbish about updating. Will think of a list tonight and will post on there tomorrow morning. Scary to think it's 100 days till Christmas! I have bought no presents yet. Might have to start this week.

Please do post a pic of the multi-layered birthday baking. It sounds impressive!

Yes karcheer I'm ready for (another) fresh start tomorrow.

NeedACostaDetox · 19/09/2016 06:42

Good morning! Nothing like a 6am start on a Monday morning in the dark to cheer one up...

I will be walking just over 3 miles today, the rest will be purely survival and cake making, so not expecting miracles on the self care/beauty front.

Off to grab a shower and get ready.

North I did post a link a while back of what I'm aiming for with the cake, but I've no idea if mine will look anything like it. Love baking, but not that good at it (although people thought I bought DS's cake recently when I had in fact sweated over it for hours)

GoNorthDarren · 19/09/2016 14:13

Oh I'll have to scroll back and look for the cake need. Think I've missed that somehow.

All going ok today. I've eaten sensibly and had a walk, just to the park but I had my 30lb DD in the toddler carrier thing, so I'm hoping that made it into more of a workout. She is just having 'quiet time' upstairs at the moment, (note we are no longer pretending it is 'nap time' sigh).

I'll do a workout this evening after DD is in bed and then a good body brushing session and maybe a face mask before I go to bed tonight.

Hope everyone is well and having nice days.

FrustratedFrugal · 19/09/2016 17:02

Great progress GoNorth and Costa! And hoping that this week will be turn out a better one.

We are enjoying really nice weather, so daily walks feel like a treat. Nothing special today, work is chaotic and I only had time for my regular 12k steps. I tallyed up last week and I clocked over 7 miles per day last week! This means that an occasional almond croissant will not undo the good work Wink

My big goal for this year is to try to resist winter inertia - an awful combination of overwork, overeating, inactivity and depressed thoughts. I'll try to stay active and will try do things that lift my mood. The next two weeks and mid-October will be quite stressful so I will get to practise what I preach right away.

MrsKellyJones · 19/09/2016 19:40

Name change again!

Thanks for the well wishes, birthday tomorrow so it can hardly be any worse Wink

Frustrated I'm sure that the odd croissant is fine. I'm just such a comfort eater - not good. Eat when happy, eat when sad, eat when bored, eat when stressed....

Will post a photo in the morning.

GoNorthDarren · 20/09/2016 08:36

🎶 happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you! 🎶

Hope you are having a lovely birthday morning MrsKJ.

FrustratedFrugal · 20/09/2016 11:48

MrsKJ CakeGrin

MrsKellyJones · 20/09/2016 14:16

Thanks ladies, but of a mixed bag as there's been a bereavement that doesn't affect me directly but does DD and I've had to deal with the emotions. Ended up crying on my friend at soft play!

We've got a nice indoor picnic planned for tea and will spend some time with DD looking at photos to help her process stuff.

Will pop a photo up - it's very yummy and looks impressive.

Cake looks amazing! Hope you have a nice picnic.
