What was the last three items you bought from the high street?

I'm really struggling as everything I see just isn't "me", I wore it 15-20 years ago or is too old!
My last three are:

  • black skinnies from New Look
  • blue blazer from Miss Selfridge
  • tan wedges from TK Maxx

Superflyhigh snap- that's the same skirt I bought as one of my last purchases. Love it and it's great for summer.

SuperFlyHigh · 27/07/2016 12:20

The Monsoon one Joneseygirl77??

isn't it fab? Smile so feminine, perfect material so not too hot and I love the print - I used to have a chiffon tunic with a very similar pattern and colour. not sure if I still have it.

SuperFlyHigh · 27/07/2016 12:21

PS - the Zara nude gladiators (try ebay) are SUPER COMFY!

I love them - 100% leather and stood half a day's travel by public transport to central london and walking about - no blisters, no pain etc! brilliant sandals!

I bought a floaty light blue chiffon midi skirt for a wedding recently, and a white lace t-shirt both from Next. The skirt was one of those brands-within-Next though.

I've bought lots of holiday clothes this week so vests and shorts all from Gap (their Girlfriend shorts are massively reduced and fit perfectly) and some navy Havaianas.

MrsPMT · 27/07/2016 12:24

Just 2 things for me, have really struggled to find clothes I like in the high street this year, not into flowery prints or hippy-ish style which there is a lot of at the moment, prefer plain items which I can wear fussy jewellery or scarves with.

cigarette jeans from Next in standard blue denim

high-top grey leather trainers from TKMaxx

leedy · 27/07/2016 12:49
  • Pleated khaki midi skirt from M&S
  • Cream and navy striped midi skirt from Oasis
  • Grey jersey blazer from Gap

(43 here)

leedy · 27/07/2016 12:54

Also got some Gap shorts recently, though discovered that their Summer Shorts in denim fit better than the Girlfriend ones, and appear to be, in fact, the same cut as the original release of their Sexy Boyfriend shorts with a less embarrassing name.

STOP CHANGING THE NAMES/CUTS OF YOUR SHORTS, GAP.

dothedab · 27/07/2016 12:56

Ted baker dress for a wedding
Long stripy sundress from Oasis
White leather jacket M&S

Love them all!

WibbleBoy · 27/07/2016 13:00

Nike Trainers
Slazenger Joggers
Philips Jogging Headphones.

(I've started a health kick).

varvara · 27/07/2016 16:56

Black Joni high-waisted skinnies from Topshop. I came late to the high-waisted jeans party but they're a revelation - no muffin top!

Grey marl boyfriend sweatshirt from Topshop. More of a practical item for days off with my DC!

Black Nike Roche trainers.

I'm 40 by the way.

seefeld · 27/07/2016 17:07

Pale pink leather jacket from Whistles (on sale)
Cotton khaki off the shoulder dress from Topshop (for the beach)
Black slip dress from Cos

mrsmortis · 27/07/2016 17:08

I'm 41. The last things I bought were

  • Grey leggings from H&M (for the gym I hasten to add) and a maxi skirt to help me cope with the heat.
  • 2 tops from Desigual in the sale. One a casual t-shirt and one that I can wear for work on summer days when a jacket is out of the question.
LadySpratt · 27/07/2016 17:23

I'm 45 (a couple of weeks in..) and over fed..

Maxi dress from Monsoon
Blue linen swing dress Phase Eight (sale)
Coral layered floaty top Phase Eight (sale)

They were nice before I went on holiday, but now that I'm here and after a few days in the hotel room with, well you can guess Shock, and daily aqua gym classes and a tan, they look much, much better. What a way to lose weight!

areyoubeingserviced · 27/07/2016 17:27

Spanx
Two maxi dresses for my upcoming holiday
Carvela sandals

winterinmadeira · 27/07/2016 17:32

Nine West navy shoes (sale and for work)
Cotton stripe sea salt dress (sale)
Gold hoop earrings from accessorise

vitaminC · 27/07/2016 17:36

I'm 42. Last 3 purchases were:

  • White flared jeans (department store, can't remember brand)
  • black/white print blouse (Comptoir des Cotonniers)
  • White zip front waistcoat top (CopCopine)
SuperFlyHigh · 27/07/2016 17:40

Jonesygirl - I realise having read the thread you now mean the &otherstories skirt - it is nice actually, I do like it.

I prefer my Monsoon one though but the &otherstories is great for when you want to hide legs and dress up at same time.

Thisismynewname123 · 27/07/2016 17:52

Denim shorts from Next: www.next.co.uk/g53174s7#127118
The starlight jumper in the sale from Hush

A couple of work tops from Asos

Dark green top from m&S with gold and amber flowers on.
Dress with butterflies on from Oasis.
Vintage 70s yellow dress from charity shop.
Am 37. Feel your pain op ☺

SuperFlyHigh · 27/07/2016 18:49

I'm 44 (almost 45) I do feel your pain OP as luckily the trends are quite good for me this season but I've found dresses for summer very hard to buy this year and have had to resort to eBay or my current retro styles in my wardrobe.

2nds · 27/07/2016 18:52

A long pink summer dress for £7.50 from Debenhams! Bargain! A white and green very flouncy top from a Simplybe and navy jeans from the same shop. All these items bought from sale rails in the last few days and yet I rarely ever like shopping.

Joneseygirl77 · 27/07/2016 21:25

Yep superflyhigh it's the and other stories one. I just like it as it means I can look smart without having to bother to fake tan my legs Grin

thiswayplease · 27/07/2016 21:46

I feel I need to be a bit more savvy on eBay and charity shops!

My best eBay purchase was black leather Lands End boots for under £5, bnwt tooWink

I think I am now at an age where I am comfortable with my style( classic, simple and smart) and building a capsule wardrobe but it's when I'm in need of a nice top for work or going out that I really struggle with.

Summer isn't even over and I'm getting autumn catalogues through the door
