What was the last three items you bought from the high street?

I'm really struggling as everything I see just isn't "me", I wore it 15-20 years ago or is too old!
My last three are:

  • black skinnies from New Look
  • blue blazer from Miss Selfridge
  • tan wedges from TK Maxx

Cropped Zara blue ripped jeans- these were an emergency purchase due covering the white jeans I was wearing that day in cranberry juice.

Thank you all for your replies.

I've got to the point I don't like shopping anymore, I vary in sizes depending on the shop or cut and it's so frustrating!

Not heard of a few of the shops mentioned so I'm going to check them out...

I went through a phase like that, thisway. And I hate clothes shopping with a vengeance. For the record, I am 50 and I am of the opinion that finding a style/shape that suits you and then sticking to it is far more flattering than trends etc. Does not mean I don't nod to what's going on fashion wise, but I have a few shops I know my sizes in/know the cut of their trousers suit me/like the quality of their stuff and I just order online. I've not been in changing room in years.

A blue maxi skirt from Tesco
A Navy BodyCon dress from Next
A blue Light weight top from Next

(I don't usually buy blue! But have just started a new job and wanted a change from black!)

Muskateersmummy · 27/07/2016 07:39

I found this too when I lost weight. I couldn't work out what suited me, what size worked in what things. I had a day, just me and my mum, and I went and tried on loads of things in shops I maybe wouldn't normally go in, styles I wouldn't normall wear, different sizes, colours etc. Took photos and mum was my critic! It really helped me redefine what style I actually wanted and where was best to get it. And mum and I had lots of fun !

mrssmith79 · 27/07/2016 08:03

Shirt (cream with black and grey flowers) and cardigan navy) - Dorothy Perkins

A grey tshirt in a slinky sort of material that hangs really nicely, has some embellishment on the shoulders

A khaki coloured sleeveless tube dress, midi length, in the sale at M&S - I actually found something good in M&S!!

Shesinfashion · 27/07/2016 11:22

In late 40's.
Black and floral bomber jacket, Tesco
Cut out sleeved, striped, multi coloured summer dress, Dorothy Perkins
Black denim dungaree mid length dress, Zara.

SuperFlyHigh · 27/07/2016 11:32

These 3 items - also bought navy ribbed vest top in Intimmisi or Calzedonia sale and some nude flat gladiator sandals from Zara (sold out bought on Ebay):-

All items are really easy to wear and to put together - the Gladiators and New Look espadrilles are super comfy. It's a smart/casual look for all too. Add cardigan and/or denim jacket if colder.

I've also had compliments on the vest top and Monsoon skirt/gladiator sandal combo. It looks great and if anyone knows anyone else doing nice pleated chiffon print knee length skirts (have looked) please let me know!
