It's lovely here, Crem, and the forecast is good which is fortunate as DFr arrives in Newcastle mid afternoon. The house is now clean. DH has mowed the lawns and, because everything is straight I feel better, although I know damn well that my friend wouldn't be bothered, it's just that staying with her is like staying in a country hotel.

As I said before I see the consultant on Thursday re knee replacement. I also received an appointment a while later asking me to go to Hexham hospital at the end of September (the day after we come back from America) which I had assumed was a mistake, but after talking to a friend today it could be that it's for a pre op assessment, which has rather shaken me up. Everyone had said that there was a delay, so we will see; no doubt the consultant will enlighten me on Thursday. Needless to say we had lots of things planned for October, although Sod's law says it will fall at the beginning of November when DH is doing jury service in Newcastle!

I hope you're feeling better now, Addle? Good luck with all the exam results this week and next to all whose DC are expecting them. DS's were so awful I can still remember it all. MI, did you manage your walk up a mountain?

Oh NU, so sorry you are feeling apprehensive about potential operation. Doesn't surprise me, i know id feel the same. The list I'm on fir my hands is as long as a piece pf stringHmm so if I was suddenly moved up id be ShockShock hope arriving friend is Good Company and not a hindrance to your stat of mind. I know what you mean about the house being straight. O am one of those people who cant leave a dirty house before going away.
Which is why i sleep for the first 24 hours of every trip. Eejit.Confused

I too love La Balding. She is looking trim and fab in her new role of Ms Olympics. Genuinely nice , clever person, one feels.Smile

We have been up a small wooded mountain Smilewith a friend of DP's, who is in a faaaabulous house (they own it - she's Irish, though it is mainly a holiday let: in fact they are moving to Kinsale) and is very nice though I feel like a huge wobbly hippo next to her extremely muscly brown skinniness. Having quite a lot of rows with DP sick of being pestered for sex and poor little DD1 really not feeling so good...
