Am binge watching House of Cards on Netflix with dh and a large glass of red wine whilst MNing in a desultory fashion.... Bliss.

MrsSchadenfreude · 14/08/2016 21:23

I'm listening to Daft Punk and cleaning the sofa where the cat has wiped his flea treatment on it.

Living the high life here...

motherinferior · 14/08/2016 21:28

We are watching the Hobbit movie.
Except for DD1 who has gone to bed feeling poorly - I suspect a period, which would make a lot of sense.

I love that "summer in the city " track.

Dh is has cracked open the St. Emilion and we are playing a bit of Jaques Brel on the (actual ) record player. No reason to go back to work without a hangover. ( he thinks) Hmm

Urgh! to teenagers on hols. Solution for us was to bring a friend of dds with us abroad.
Lol @ Mrs S and your International Relations career starting early.WinkGrin Dirty stop-out as we say here.

MrsSchadenfreude · 14/08/2016 22:03

Oooh I love a bit of Jacques, Crem. We have a CD of Marc Almond singing Brel, as well as the man himself.

hattymattie · 14/08/2016 22:49

We have had a lovely family meal in a restaurant and are now back at the hotel amazed at out position of second in the medal table. Our teens have been ok so far although DS is negative and sarcastic the whole time but that is normal behaviour for him.

Rose hope you had a nice meal in the end.

NU - sounds like you're run down and need a good rest.

Mrs S - you were kissing the waiters at 13? You naughty girl.

Cremolafoam · 14/08/2016 23:10

Sorry Jacques, not Jaques. Ooh I have that Marc Almond one too. Love it.
Maybe I should make a Crepey soundtrack for party?
All suggestions please and I will do my best.

GGG are you looking at the terrifyingly scary Clare Underwood for style direction? Lol. GrinGrinVery chic, if a bit greige and self-obsessedGrin

MrsSchadenfreude · 14/08/2016 23:18

Hatty, no, I'm afraid it went a bit further than that... Blush

Oooh, what would be on a Crepey soundtrack? Grin

bigTillyMint · 15/08/2016 03:42

GGG, I now have an earworm!

Saw Usain get his gold live before breakfast Smile GB seem to be doing pretty well. Go Max Witlock!

Crepey soundtrack sounds a fab idea. Would it be for dancing or just background music?

DD all sweetness and light this morning. She slept well.

Cremolafoam · 15/08/2016 07:25

Funny that BTM .... Hope it lasts.

Wow re medals for Team GB. Max Whitlock, Justin. Rose, Andy Murray, and apparently we are good at Marathonswimming ( new one , on me) and dressage ( queries this as a sport?? Tiptoe horses) as well. Who knew? Mind you, there aren't too many Russians are there? spoilsport

Cremolafoam · 15/08/2016 07:25

Soundtrack, for background I think.

Lalsy · 15/08/2016 08:09

WOW, Team GM. I love Claire Balding too. She asks such good questions - why is the velodrome track on a slope? can they elbow each other out of the way? all the things the you sit on your sofa busting to know. So warm and knowledgeable.

addle · 15/08/2016 08:10

On way into work first time in two weeks. Feeling sick. Feel should not ignore this.
How is everyone facing results week? Weighing heavily on ds now and he not optimistic.

Rosebag · 15/08/2016 08:24

Also basking in the reflected glory of Team GBs medal tally. I have to admit I have huge soft spot for Lewis Smith and couldn't bear his tears of disappointment for having been pipped for the pommel horse gold by Whitlock. Not that the silver is anything to cry about of course. I too admire Claire Balding...excellent commentator.

Packing to drive home today. DS and DH went on the train last night. Felt very low last evening...like I spoilt the family meal. I'm just so fed up being left holding the baby whilst everyone else has a nice time. And smiling happily so everyone feels fine about it. (Which of course, I didn't yesterday, did I ) Seeing to the driving, the parking, the packing......

Rosebag · 15/08/2016 08:25

Flowers addle So many of us dreading results days....

Lalsy · 15/08/2016 08:43

Dunno how ds is feeling. He has one reformed subject, and just did an internal for that, so three to come on Thursday.

Rose, do you have any sense of what might help? Would it be a change within the family dynamics or something outside, like developments with the play? Flowers

And Flowers for addle. No, definitely don't ignore! Shall we remind you?

herbaceous · 15/08/2016 09:50

Crepeys at my Saga cruise 50th might recall some good easy listening choons at the beginning. I still have the playlist, which I could somehow transfer somewhere using the internet somehow.

magimedi · 15/08/2016 10:24

Rose, I don't really know you - but you sound much too nice to everyone.

Sympathy to all those going through the results angst.

Nothing to report from chez magi - it's so quiet everywhere. I think half the road must be away. Am really enjoying it.

Rosebag · 15/08/2016 10:47

Thanks magi , lalsy yes I'm always better when I have a work related project on the go. The play lumbers slowly forth like a clumsy beast. Nothing ever happens quickly and I'm the only person who really cares about it. All other parties have other interests. Nevertheless the next workshop and reading is booked. I'm just finding dealing with the venue very tiresome. No one gets back to you!

bigTillyMint · 15/08/2016 10:51

Addle, sorry you feel gloomy about work. I fear it is very common amongst crepies (in RL too) Flowers
And sorry your DS is worrying (though I'm sure he has nothing to worry about) - DD has made the odd comment and it may be contributing to her up-and-down moods. She did all externals and was very negative at the time. I am much less concerned than last year, but this could be because we are still on hol!

Rose, that does sound a bit miserable. How did you end up being left behind to clear up? Could you have taken the train and left your DH to it?

Herbs your Easy Listening tracks would be great. And if there was to be dancing, I could fish out some top 70's/80's soul, funk and disco?!

We have had a pleasant walk around the lake, fabulous smoothies (the best of the hols!) and a visit to the prison museum (which was full of grim torturing and a guilotine. And a bit of propaganda) before a rooftop sunbathe/swim. May try a rooftop sundowner shortly!

herbaceous · 15/08/2016 11:38

BTM, I'm sure people tell you this all the time, but your DS looks so much like the Billy Elliot actor!

Rose - it's just assumed that you will be there to pick up pieces and sort, as that's what you've always done as you are a Good Person. What would happen if you didn't, and left it for someone else?

Trying to write this feature, as the deadline is today! DP has taken DS off, on a number of trains, to see his mum, who is out of hospital and in a rehab centre. She has, once again rallied, and defied medical prognoses. Maybe there's something in this praying lark after all.

bigTillyMint · 15/08/2016 11:39

Herbs, noone has ever said that! Off to Google him now - do you mean the one in the film?

herbaceous · 15/08/2016 11:49

Jamie Bell, I believe he's called. Bit older than your DS now, but back in the day...

bigTillyMint · 15/08/2016 11:51

I can see where you're coming from, when he was a similar age to DS!

Cremolafoam · 15/08/2016 11:55

Jamie Bell
