Rose, I suppose if you wanted to include a LGBT strand, you could feature a former gay partner of one of the existing characters (who would now be bi), perhaps attending the class as a one-off because s/he was going to be doula. So s/he would make a passing appearance, swanning in and swanning out. (For some reason I am envisaging her as an annoying woman.) Just a thought for minimum disruption. But no need imho.

Have just had, admittedly useful, feedback from head of English. He said my lesson was good, I was calm authoritative, had good presence, and THST I could easily do the job. I could have shut up a bit more, though. The problem was the question in the 'data task'. I had misinterpreted the instruction 'suggest strategies the teacher could use to help the students' as 'suggest strategies the teacher could use to help the students', rather than 'interpret the data to give individual targets for each of these learners'. Which I did point out was a v unfair reason to chuck me out.

He did say, however, that if I ever wanted to go for a similar job again, even elsewhere, that I should get in touch and he'll talk me through all the data crunching. Which is apparently what it's all about these days.

Well Herbs - it's probably no consolation but I would have done exactly the same as you!

bigTillyMint · 07/07/2016 17:03

Herbs, good call on the Magnum. So sorry they couldn't see that you would be fantastic at the job. And that you have so much else going on at the moment Flowers

I am on my knees and I still have 8 days to goSad

Collymollypuff · 07/07/2016 17:13

Crikey, Herbs, that was a trap for the unwary. Confused You obvs made a very good impression, great to have that offer of help.

Collymollypuff · 07/07/2016 17:14

Anyone wanna see my newly bagged username, homage to Mrs May (not really)?

BloodyDifficultWoman · 07/07/2016 17:15

Tada!

bigTillyMint · 07/07/2016 17:45

Grin I think that could be any of us Grin

motherinferior · 07/07/2016 18:09

I like that!

Blackduck · 07/07/2016 20:35

Might be confusing if we are all BDW(insert Roman numeral) :).........

BloodyDifficultWoman · 07/07/2016 21:07

I'll go back to molls soon though, and retain this for aibu. Grin I was just showing off my successful acquisition of it.

motherinferior · 07/07/2016 21:27

We could be AnotherBloodyDifficultWoman and YetAnotherBDW and RevengeoftheBDW and MonstrousRegimentOfBDW...

BeachysSandyFlipFlops · 07/07/2016 21:35

Think it could be a homage to Mrs Leadsom too!!

CointreauVersial · 07/07/2016 22:33

Bummer, Herbs. Sad Don't lose heart!

MrsSchadenfreude · 07/07/2016 22:43

Can I just have a happy little scream here? I couldn't resist, and had a look at DD1's IB French results online. SHE GOT A 7 - THIS IS THE TOP GRADE!!!! And it was a very comfortable 7 too. This is so much what she needs, and will give her the confidence she needs for the rest of the IB next year.

CointreauVersial · 07/07/2016 22:57

Oh how brilliant! Well done that girl. Now you'll have to practice your po-face for when she tells you her results herself. Grin

GiddyGiddyGoat · 07/07/2016 23:33

Brilliant Mrs S. Very chuffed for you (and her obvs!). Spot on re the confidence giving for next year... Well done that girl.

GiddyGiddyGoat · 07/07/2016 23:33

Is everything OK Stropps? X

Blackduck · 08/07/2016 06:10

MrsS good on Dd

bigTillyMint · 08/07/2016 06:52

Great news MrsS! WineCakeFlowers

motherinferior · 08/07/2016 08:18

Yay Schadenfraulein!

Lalsy · 08/07/2016 08:38

Yaaaay! What a boost.

I loved May's reply on the BDW thing. [for avoidance of doubt, think May as PM for at least 9 years is terrifying prospect, tho not as scary as Leadsom].

Rosebag · 08/07/2016 09:25

Brilliant news, MrsS and a clever girl! You must be delighted. Drinks all round Wine

Oh bottoms Herbs. Fancy rejecting a talented and able candidate on the basis of such a silly task. If I were heading the ngerviw panel based on what I did in a bygone era, I would just have asked you about it in the interview...ie, "I note that you have written XYZ.... could you now suggest targets for...blah blah, yada, yada, yada...." Keep the contact going as it may bear fruit in the end. Flowers

You're right molly/BDW. My idea was the hippyish character, if you remember her, having a female lover as well as the father of the baby who was attending classes...Hmm but I think Im going to resist it. This just isn't a story about LGBT, that's all...

I am deeply frustrated with the theatre hire for our 3 day workshop and subsequent Reading. Great venue, great location but they DON'T GET BACK TO YOU. Everything takes so long with all the chasing. I am of a mind to turn up there this afternoon and just loiter til someone attends to me. Angry Angry Angry I figure that if the worst happens, I can treat myself to something naughty but nice in the cafe, cafe bar

motherinferior · 08/07/2016 09:29

I too would like to hear from Stropps. Happy birthday Rudy, too!

We are playing Competitive Tiredness here in the Inferiority Complex. DP usually wins, as he has to zip up and down and also has Proper Demanding Job. What with me just sitting around eating soft-centred chocolates and watching telly all day, obvs.

He also points out I stay up late reading and then try to get up early to run (dismal failure today, though did manage a Ladyjog yesterday). He has a point, but his general joylessness in this regard is rather like my father, who believes late nights are Immoral.

Angry
Cremolafoam · 08/07/2016 10:11

Yes MI, completely immoral, but not quite as much as 'lie ins' which are scorned beyond all reason in my family.Wink I am delighted to do both am therefore am 'black sheep of family' and constantly reminded how lazy I am.Grin zzzzzzzz..

Hippy Birthday lovely RudyFlowersFlowersFlowers

Mrs S , stonkingly good news about dd. That's fantastic! The apple doesn't fall far from the tree, s'all Im sayin.Grin

Have bagged bargainous two (2, II ) pairs of linen strides from La Redoute in sale for £20 delivered. That's Paris sorted. Can be walking about in beachwear for that bit of holiday.

So Lalsy, at least the all women world leader prediction might just come true, if Clinton can sort out her email shenanigans.
