If you spend £40 or more. Has anyone got one and if so what is it like?

I went and collected my second bix today along with my online order. I returned all three dresses as one j bought yesterday and the other two were just not all that. I kept the sunglasses!

When I asked if I had to return the box because the sunglasses were only £15 she said no I could keep the box and if I so wished I could return the sunglasses to!

So effectively if you purchase £40 of anything you could return the whole lot and get to keep the box for £10.

Daffodil90 · 10/06/2016 22:49

I just ordered mine! Got stuff for fathers day for my dad and DH from DD to make up the £40. Will see what's in the box and anything I don't want I'll repurpose come Christmas time Smile

Absolutelynothingelse · 11/06/2016 08:53

The box is well worth £10 and a brilliant selection I will pretty much be using everything in it.
I bought a gorgeous summer dress made of the softest cotton material I've ever worn and a really flattering cut for my figure, Ren cleanser and a £3 lip liner to total £40 Grin and school uniform and kids clothes.
I got 2 boxes because I unintentionally made 2 separate orders after I realised it was about time my DC got new socks etc.

Absolutelynothingelse · 11/06/2016 08:57

In fact M&S have a brilliant selection of summer dresses at the moment for every age, shape and style out there in some lovely materials.

I had to hold myself back from scooping up too many.

prettywhiteguitar · 11/06/2016 12:22

Ooh can you link what you bought ?

I8toys · 11/06/2016 12:47

Ordered it - got school shirts with 20% and fathers day cards - bought the advent calendar and still using loads of the products. Love discovering new things!!

building2016 · 11/06/2016 14:57

Just bought my DD some clothes and got the box. Loved it. Would never spend on all those bits but well worth £10. And DD can keep the eau de toilette so she's pleased.

Howaboutthisone · 11/06/2016 15:06

Has anyone else ordering online had an order delayed email?

TooMuchMNTime · 11/06/2016 18:09

This looks great but I dint need anything and tried to get a gift card...won't let me buy it with that, unless I'm missing something.

Alas whereas I am much keener on Sun creams and body oil than the nail products. To each their own.

Tate15 · 11/06/2016 19:13

Here is my personal review of the products

Swell ultimate protect and renew serum 30ml
Stupidly, I used this on my face late at night before realising it is for hair! Smells overwhelmingly of Bergamot. When uses on hair is nice enough but no different from other hair serums. I'm not keen on Bergamot. Decent size.

Rodial Dragon's blood hyaluronic tonic 50ml
This is very nice. Not sure if worth the price tag but pleasant enough. I used to buy a facial mist from Sainsburys maternity range that was cheap as chips and just as nice. Pleasant and easy to use. Decent size.

Philip Kingsley citrus sunshine swimcap 50ml
OK smell. Not really interested in this product as I don't swim and if I go in the sea I don't get my hair wet. Great if you do use a swimming pool or swim in the sea. Decent size.

Pure instant radiance hot cloth cleanser 50ml
I have bought the full sized product previously. It's not bad. A little goes a long way so very economical. Nice and creamy. Decent trial size.

Ren instant firming beauty shot 10ml
Not used this product before but feels nice on the skin. Too early to say if it does anything! OK trial size.

Island escape eau de toilette 25ml
Quite a pretty lightweight fragrance. I like a heavy sillage so this isn't a fragrance I would wear but I did spritz it in the car (before dogs got in) and it was very nice. Also good to spray in hair as a hair fragrance. Summery and light. Decent size.

Nuxe huile prodigieuse 10ml
I already buy and use this. It's lovely. HAir, body and face. I have even rubbed a tiny bit on palms and smoothed my whippets coats and they smell divine! Tiny size but you only need the tiniest of drops. A super product.

Ultrasun face SPF30 25ml
Great suncream for the mush! Didn't irritate my eyes like some do. Nice size.

Pur correcting primer illuminate and glow 10ml
I wouldn't usually use anilluminating primer but I tried this and it didn't really work for me as primer on my face. It's a bit greasy and didn't really so much. It worked better when I used it on my upper eye area, giving a nice moisturised look. Probably a lot nicer on a younger womans skin. I'm 50. Small trial size.

Sun Smart sun lotion SPF30 50ml
This was nice and does the job but I like my Piz Buin better! Very good size for your handbag. Not greasy and decent SPF.

Leighton Denny crystal finish quick dry top coat 12ml
Not used this before but have previously bought many Leighton Denny polishes. Great product. Dries quickly and gives superb shine. Would purchase in the future. Excellent size.

Stila lip glaze raspberry 1.5ml
I'm not a fan of Stila, everything I've bought from them has crap packaging that breaks or leaks and not overly keen on the shades or quality of the products. I always feel they are a rip off, cheap products with fancy packaging and a price that doesn't reflect the poor quality. I bought a selection of the lip glazes when they first came out years ago and was disappointed. The formula hasn't changed. Very, very sticky,a previous boyfriend many years ago hated me wearing the stuff. This comes in a nice jammy colour but just like all the other lip glazes before it seems to separate and you get darker bits appearing. It is lasting. A top tip I find is to put a light layer of concealer on lips, just a smidgeon really and they apply the lip glaze. It transforms the jammy COlour to a lovely light pink and keeps the pigment even. Nice size but already the lid is not going on properly and will no doubt leak as previous ones have.Too sticky for me to wear every day.

Nails Inc gel one coat nail polish 10ml
A well known brand that you can't go wrong with really! I already have lots of nails Inc polishes and they are pretty good. Not as good as OPI or Mavala but close enough! This is a lovely shade of red. Would suit everyone and a great colour for summer toes. Excellent size.

Percy and Reed volumising no oil oil 30ml
My hair doesn't need volumising. I applied to dry hair, might be better on damp hair. Used in the ends it didn't really do much. Didn't make it shiny or glossy like other serums and made the ends look a bit greasy and I only used a tiny amount.

CointreauVersial · 11/06/2016 19:13

Hmm...I'm not sure...I can't actually work out what to spend £40 on to actually get the box. I love the Percy & Reed Hair Oil and the Nuxe Huile Prodigiuse, but I have them already.

Tate15 · 11/06/2016 19:18

Buy anything for £40 and the box for a tenner and then return the £40 items! The assistant in M&S told me that if you buy anything and don't like it and it brings you below the £40 you still get to keep the box you bought for a tenner! I returned three dresses and kept a £15 pair of sunglasses for my second box meaning I only spent £15 to get the box for a tenner.

She said I could return everyrhing and still keep the box. I bought clothing though, and they didn't suit me. I don't think you could try returning toiletries.

CointreauVersial · 11/06/2016 19:18

Tate - I use the Hair Oil on damp hair, after I've washed it, and just on the lengths. I wouldn't say it volumises particularly, but it's really moisturising for my going-slightly-grey hair.

Grin at the lightly oiled whippets!

I agree with you on the Stila Lip Glaze. I tried the one from the Advent Calendar and spent the day picking my hair off my lips. I donated it to DD2, and later found it lying on her desk in a sticky pool, having leaked everywhere.

Tate15 · 11/06/2016 19:21

Yes, I will try on damp hair next time.

I have two whippets and a pug, maybe the pug could be volumised! Grin

Tate, the poor pug!! I have visions of the whippets looking all smug with their Huile and laughing at the bouffant pug!

teta · 11/06/2016 19:38

I bought the box for my 17 year old as a little gift in the middle of exams. She absolutely loves it.Already used the varnish and top coat, the Stila lip glaze and the perfume and several skin products.I think it's great for teenagers, not for me at 52.I'm not prepared to experiment ( have funny skin too).
Old fogey alert

welshweasel · 11/06/2016 19:52

I'm really impressed with the nail varnishes and I do like the lip gloss although agree it's a bit sticky. The sun cream will be good for DS in his nursery bag. Not tried anything else yet but if happily have paid a tenner for the nail varnishes on their own!

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 11/06/2016 20:18

I've found Stila lip stuff in the Pound shop before now.

I'm picking up my box tomorrow via click and collect. Squeeee!

Tate15 · 11/06/2016 21:28

It's definitely worth paying £10 for. It would make a lovely gift for a summer birthday.

I just don't think they should say it's actual worth is £120.

DetestableHerytike · 11/06/2016 21:40

I got it and am happy. Could've got more than one probably but didn't think of that!

The Percy and Reed hair oil is the best for volume. There is nothing to match it!
