First date at Springsteen Gig

Could you suggest a cool and not too "try hard" outfit for a Springsteen gig?

Early 40s, busty, size 16. I guess I'll need layers as early June is unpredictable?

My style icon is Kirstie Allsopp (similar looks) so I'm a bit all at sea!

Ooh.
I'm going to Wembley. Parents paid (I'm chauffeuring so they can partake of the bar).
So watch out for overweight speccy with purple Bob flanked by white haired doppelgänger (probably suitably refreshed). Grin

Oh my goodness how close were you Ida!!!! Sorry to hear the sound wasn't any better down in the pit.

Who was the lucky lady who he got on stage at the end do we know? Wonder how long it took her to choose that outfit Grin

Pisssssedofff · 27/05/2016 17:07

Meow exit lol

LizardBreath · 27/05/2016 17:25

Atlantic city was the opener, bloody love that song! We were standing close to front, sound was great down there!

Not sure I'd go to etihad again though, saw him there last time too and always a nightmare to get in and out.

What a set though! Loved the Santa Claus is coming to town bit, and lady who got up was brilliant too!

ImperialBlether · 27/05/2016 19:51

Atlantic City's one of my favourite songs and I was so annoyed we'd missed it. I wouldn't go to that stadium again. Unless you were standing at the front I don't think there were any good seats.

LizardBreath · 27/05/2016 20:14

No, we missed badlands right at the start on the previous gig there due to traffic issues -so frustrating! I had some prime seats in my basket when buying the tickets for this one am glad I let them go now!

ExitPursuedByADonkey · 27/05/2016 22:35

You misunderstood. I thought she looked fabulous. I wish I looked like that.

IdaShaggim · 27/05/2016 22:48

I know what you mean, Exit, she had a real style didn't she? Not a look I'd emulate (I'm more of a 'buy whatever fits in the charity shop' kind of girl) but it really suited her.

ExitPursuedByADonkey · 27/05/2016 22:51

I was over dressed. I said to Dd that I had never seen so many anoraks in one place!

BagelGoesWalking · 27/05/2016 23:56

I'm going to Wembley on 5th June too!

Just hope it's good and we can catch a faraway glimpse of him. I wish I'd got standing tickets but I panicked a bit when tickets went on sale and went for best available. Although don't know if I'd want to stand for so long!

BagelGoesWalking · 28/05/2016 00:08

ExitPursuedByBear · 28/05/2016 00:19

Gotta love him

burnishedsilver · 30/05/2016 00:03

Brilliant night. Duet with Bono was a bonus.

Oddly enough, in answer to the question of what do wear to a springstein concert, a surprising number of people seem to have said 'I know, I'll wear a cowboy hat' Hmm

Update Confused

I have bought 2 rainproof items from ASOS.

Do you need pics or can you imagine? I don't do "cute at a festival" so I'm a bit despondent .....

BagelGoesWalking · 01/06/2016 20:18

Weather forecast not great for Sunday (at the moment, anyway) might have to bring something waterproof!

srtajuanita · 01/06/2016 20:27

You see, Badger? Woe woe woe

srtajuanita · 01/06/2016 20:28

Or Bagel, even .....

Rain capes were being sold outside the Etihad.

srtajuanita · 07/06/2016 17:23

So, I wore the dress I showed you up thread. It was a big hit!

But, can I just say SPRINGSTEEN was about a million times better than I expected! I am totally besotted by the man and his music. He was so sexy and funny and great with the fans, especially the kids. Honestly, one of the all time great nights of my life. The sun shone, I was cool and felt pretty.

So, Mumsnetters of S&B board - a huge, huge thank you.
