What do you do with your eyebrows?

I know the look at the moment is very much statement eyebrows but I don't give a shit about that. What I give a shit about, is if my eyebrows compliment my face or not. Also, I don't particularly like that over dramatic eyebrow look that I'm seeing a lot of. Even threaded eyebrows can look a bit OTT to me.

Sometimes I fill my eyebrows in with an eyebrow pencil, sometimes I don't and I really can't decide which looks better. I think it can depend on other things for example, how much make up I'm wearing.

What do you do with your eyebrows and is your face generally better off for it?

I've been getting my eyebrows waxed for the past ten years. I found a fab lady just down the road from me a few years ago and she does a great job Smile I tend to get them done every 6 weeks, and don't really do anything to them in the meantime (aside from pluck out the horrible big dark ones) because my brows are naturally quite full Grin

I got mine waxed ages ago and just kept the shape by plucking a couple of stragglers everyday before I apply makeup. I use a cheap and cheerful tinted brow gel by Rimmel, and they look neat and defined, but natural. Really don't like the current trend for massive severe eyebrows.

I've just had mine done at the Benefit Brow Bar, while I was in town today and they are lovely. Usually get them done locally but this is a much better job

I wax my eyebrows every 2-3 weeks. No threading, I hate the feel of it. Painful! I use soft brown eyebrow pencil to "fill in". Having neat, nicely shaped eyebrows makes a big difference to my face I look much better. I don't like those huge HD eyebrows that give women "scarey face" either

That photo in Juxtaposition's link is atrocious - how can anyone think that looks good?

LordEmsworth · 17/04/2016 10:53

Honestly, I had my HD Brows done yesterday, and today they look like this.

Not for everyone, but they are not the same thing as the big scary brows. I love it and think HD gets a really unfair press on here...

I still don't know what HD brows are.... Confused

LordEmsworth · 17/04/2016 12:19

It's a technique that people have to pay to learn/be able to use the name, and it's a mix of everything...

First they tint; then they trim the length, so they're short hairs; then they wax; then they thread the edges (which makes the look more natural, less sharp); then they pluck to thin & even out, and shape the brows into the right arch. You can ask for thick / thin / dark / no tint etc to get to what you want, it's very flexible.

RavioliOnToast · 17/04/2016 12:38

These are mine. I have them threaded every 4 weeks and I use Barry m brow powder and cheap clear mascara on them everyday, it takes about. 45 seconds but makes a huge difference to my fyas.

Nothing, as I am a scruff natural beauty Grin

NattyGolfJerkin · 17/04/2016 15:25

Not much but the basics are reasonable anyway. I tint them myself every 3 or so weeks and pluck any stray hairs every couple of days (my natural light/medium brow hair stubble is very obvious the minute it comes through).
