Advice please: can I wear these tan sandles with navy tights and the Boden Blackberry dress?

I'm trying to get more wear out of my navy and white striped Blackberry dress for work. Cooler weather proofing it with navy tights and... what on the feet?

Can I wear these? www.clarks.co.uk/p/26108742

I'm a 40ish teacher.

Thank you fashionistas! Flowers

Please don't! You are several decades too young

Ginmakesitallok · 13/03/2016 20:58

They are truly hideous

HixieRice · 13/03/2016 20:59

Absolutely not! Tights and sandals?? Shock
Ankle boots are the way to go until summer

HolgerDanske · 13/03/2016 20:59

No. Completely agree that you are several decades too young.

bakewelltarte · 13/03/2016 21:01

Nooo they are not ok! And especially not with navy tights!

boobashka · 13/03/2016 21:02

Thanks for the speedy advice Smile

I'm struggling. What can I wear with my lovely dress and tights?

I have tan ankle boots but they're a bit high for day to day. Would these be ok? www.marksandspencer.com/leather-block-heel-ankle-boots-with-insolia/p/p22401610?prevPage=srp

Or any suggestions for something which isn't a boot.

Star Thank you Star

My eyes! My beautiful eyes!

LadyPriggsbottom · 13/03/2016 21:05

Agree with Hixie - tights and sandals look odd together IMHO. If it's too cold for bare legs, it's probably too cold for sandals iyswim. I'd go for boots instead myself.

HolgerDanske · 13/03/2016 21:05

They are marginally better, and I understand you want to be comfortable. But I think you would need to stay away from navy tights altogether. Maybe just tan or natural, if you have to wear tights.

Belikethat · 13/03/2016 21:05

Everyone knows you can't do tights or socks with sandals. It's the law.

boobashka · 13/03/2016 21:06

Or I have some shoes a bit like this:

tinyurl.com/h4ul8tx that I could wear.

I've seen some of the youngesters wearing similar with tights.

Am I too old/untrendy? Trying hard to avoid the frump!!!

Do you have a link to the dress op?

boobashka · 13/03/2016 21:09

So it's the navy tights that are problematic?

Confused

Maybe the Blackberry will have to stay in the wardrobe til summer...

How about those clogs I've seen on here before. Lotta from Sweden??

BikeRunSki · 13/03/2016 21:10

Those Clark's sandals don't go with anything.

foxybingodotcom · 13/03/2016 21:10

M&S boots are a much better option!

boobashka · 13/03/2016 21:10

Yes - here's the dress:

Belikethat · 13/03/2016 21:11

They're ok but not with tights. Maybe with cropped jeans.

BikeRunSki · 13/03/2016 21:12

I've just looked at the dress, I think it's just too summery to winterise.

Belikethat · 13/03/2016 21:13

Yes I agree re the dress. Just wear it on a summer's day. It's very casual.

boobashka · 13/03/2016 21:13

I almost bought a pair of Lotta's last year.

How about these: www.lottafromstockholm.co.uk/clogs/low-heel-clogs/low-wood-brown-oiled-nubuck.html

With tights...? Please!!

OP posts:
OverAndAbove · 13/03/2016 21:13

Well the clue is in the description - it's a summer dress. Don't wear it with tights!

It's lovely btw - looks like it hangs nicely?

allegretto · 13/03/2016 21:15

I like the sandals! But not with tights.

boobashka · 13/03/2016 21:17

Sad Looks like the blackberry won't be making an early appearance.
What about my other boden summer dress:

www.boden.co.uk/en-gb/womens-dresses/day-dresses/wh980-grn/womens-chalky-green-mosaic-casual-jersey-dress

Can I wear this with thin natural tights and the Lotta's?

Thank you v much - this is saving me a lot of time showing outfits to DH who doesn't have a clue anyway!!

SavoyCabbage · 13/03/2016 21:18

The M&S boots are the best of the options.
