Advice please: can I wear these tan sandles with navy tights and the Boden Blackberry dress?

I'm trying to get more wear out of my navy and white striped Blackberry dress for work. Cooler weather proofing it with navy tights and... what on the feet?

Can I wear these? www.clarks.co.uk/p/26108742

I'm a 40ish teacher.

Thank you fashionistas! Flowers

I would wear that dress with natural tights and tan or neutral ankle boots with a bit of a heel. I think the sandals and tights look is trendy but if there's any doubt that you could just be mistaken for being frumpy I'd avoid. And the clog sandals are better for that than the Clarks ones potentially. Having said that I have some clog sandals and standing on them all day teaching would make my feet ache as they are such hard soles..

Why are you trying to wear summer dresses already?

Surely by the very fact you will be wearing a winter coat and tights tells you that its not sandal time yet? Wait until you can wear bare legs and a light cardigan.

Next year buy dark dresses that you can layer that won't look ridiculous with tights.

Sandals should not be worn with tights. Ever.

OP - I like both the dress and the clarks sandals, but not when worn together, and definitely not with tights!

A colleague was wearing the Blackberry dress today, or one very similar. She was wearing it with navy opaques, a navy jersey/ponte blazer and flat grey suede ankle boots. Looked good.

I wear tights with my red peep toe lottas in winter. I think it looks quite nice.

Sorry to say this, I am 70 and I am much too young for those.

Sorry to harp on about tights but I saw a colleague wearing a black version of these with black opaques and it looked nice.

OP - I think it's more important that you wear things you like, rather than worrying what us lot think! I say that kindly though.

boobashka · 15/03/2016 20:17

Thanks Petal - I only get my legs out about twice a year when it's boiling. So I feel it's a shame to not be able to get some wear out of my dresses, especially as they are quite thick cotton so will be warm enough with a cardi.

I'm going to go against the grain here and say wear it with tights, I would!

ChrissyHynde · 15/03/2016 20:27

I've got the Clarks sandals and intend to wear them in school with similar style dresses but no tights Smile

HarrietSchulenberg · 15/03/2016 20:34

I would wear it with dark green tights, a green cardy and burgundy DM t-bar sandals.
I might not be in the vanguard of fashion but I rock my "unique" bag lady chic look.
