Here they are....oscar dresses

Not loving Kate Blanchetts Armarni - looks like a swim hat.
Again, not sure about Alicia Vikander's yellow Louis Vuitton - looks half made..
LOVE Brie Larsons Gucci & Charlize Theron's Dior. Sorry Kate Winslet, not loving the shiny Ralph Lauren - too harsh and not flattering. Heidi Klum what were you thinking in that Marchesa chiffon explosion - just no. Kinda liked Gaga for once, Margot Robbie in Tom Ford looks fabulous, Chrissy Teigen wearing Marchesa with baby bump looked epic, Loved Olivia Munn in Stella McCartney, fab colour and silhouette.

Best - Charlize Theron in red Dior
Worst - Heidi Klum in Marchesa chiffon explosion

Alot of Meh though imo...

Charlize looked cheap the top part of the dress looked very market stall.
Loved Cate Blanchett the colour was so different and the detailing just beautiful. How tiny is her waist?
Kate Winslet not keen but not a disaster
Daisy ridley dress does nothing for her and agree hair and make up need attention
Some of those cleavage dresses look awful and dare I say saggy? Even JLAW looks less perky than usual!

squoosh · 29/02/2016 15:59

If boobs are going to be emphasised I much prefer the traditional va va voom cleavage style of Sofia Vergara to all that slashed to the navel nonsense.

Agree with the too much cleavage in general, it is starting to look very cheap and tacky.

My favourites were Cate Blanchett - she is always a bit ott but I think this was on the right side of risky/glamourous - loved the colour on her.

Naomi Watts - she always picks a stunning dress and looks great.

Alicia V - I actually loved this on her, looked vintagey and youthful.

Charlize - I thought she look stunning - don't mind the low cut on her as she has a model figure (ie tiny boobs) so can carry it off.

The ones I didn't like were:

Heidi 'big girls blouse' Klum

Jennifer lawrence - looked a bit like a swimsuit up top and her after party outfit looked so awkward/uncomfortable

Kate Winslet - too plain, dark and shiny - she has looked much better - wish she would try a sequin or lace gown sometimes.

Kerry Washington - I know she likes to be cutting edge but got this very wrong, not an oscar outfit.

Olivia Wilde - looked like a star wars costume

Lweji · 29/02/2016 16:08

I quite liked Sofia's.

Her boobs were in place and not particularly obvious at all.
I thought it looked quite classy.

LordTrash · 29/02/2016 16:17

Margot Robbie wins it for me - wowzer!

Not keen on the slashed-to-the-waist thing, nor loads of flesh-exposing cut-outs, nor floaty chiffon-y stuff covered in appliques.

Saoirse Ronan's dress was lovely and I really liked the colour of Brie Larson's Gucci number.

Not a vintage year on the whole for me.

SpeakerOfTheHouse · 29/02/2016 16:38

Jennifer Lawrence looks like a cheap hooker at the after party.....Hmm

hated Brie Larson's dress hair and make up

thought the top looked unfinished and poorly fitted
thought the belt didn't go with the dress at all
felt the skirt was horribly frou frou

hair was 70's updo by her mother

makeup by a no7 counter girl

disaaaaster daaaarling

RonaldMcDonald · 29/02/2016 17:04

I loved Jennifer Lawrence's Dior for the actual Oscars
Fitted perfectly and was age appropriate...made me remember the horrible Gwyneth Paltrow dress of black netting from year passim

loved the top 1/2 of Roony Mara...thought it was stunning but the bottom was too curtainy

I thought that Kate Winslet's hair looked poorly coloured...? dress was a shiny hell

Gaga's crotch was the star of her show

derxa · 01/03/2016 07:34

My favourite outfit was Jenny Beavan's. Go Jenny!

ARichVernacular · 01/03/2016 08:43

Tina Fey looked absolutely stunning.

MattDillonsPants · 01/03/2016 09:31

Daisy there were a few of those 90s style beaded numbers....you're shocked...and I'm shocked because we're old now...we've been there, done that. Grin

FeliciaJollygoodfellow · 01/03/2016 09:58

Priyanka Chopra's dress was pretty - weird belty thing though!

I think Naomi Watts was the nicest.

FeliciaJollygoodfellow · 01/03/2016 10:00

Oh good grief. Just got to Thandie Newton. For such a beautiful woman she looks appalling - like she rolled out of bed and arrived in a crumpled negligée!

MattDillonsPants · 01/03/2016 10:08

Has anyone seen the clip of Jenny Beavan as she goes up for her Oscar and a big row of people don't clap but look at her outfit in disdain?

In the press they keep saying "The men didn't clap" but I can see women not clapping too....they're looking her up and down and smirking!

She can't win! She's not into frocks and heels....she wore some bling. People are awful.

MissTessmacher · 01/03/2016 10:10

Matt I have completely reconsidered my opinion of Inárritu after that video. Rude twunt.

How's your doggie doing?

MattDillonsPants · 01/03/2016 10:19

Oh thank you for asking MissTessmacher Grin he's bloody enormous! He's grown a lot already and is very good...he tries so hard to learn new things and to cope with new situations. He needs brushing twice a day as he constantly rolls in the lawn which is full of burrs and then paddles in the mud from where the sprinklers hit.

He comes in once a day at lunchtime and once in the evening for his regular pats and hugs and then he goes back out to continue his "watchdog duties" which consist of keeping magpies at bay.

Lweji · 01/03/2016 10:23

Those on 90s style dresses are surely braving a new trend, no? Grin

Lexipedia · 01/03/2016 10:26

Tina Fey was my favourite. Also loved Brie Larson and Naomi Watts.

Didn't like Olivia Wilde, Heidi Klum, Rooney Mara or Sofia Vergara.

MissTessmacher · 01/03/2016 10:28

Aww that's so nice, great to hear he's so settled alreadySmile What did you decide to call him? Such a handsome boy, he has given me the urge to get another dog!

TheSpottedZebra · 01/03/2016 10:35

I'm a pathetic fangirl, but I thought that both Tina Fey and Amy Poehler's dresses were amazing. But Amy's dress seems to be copping a lot of hate on the Internet? I LOVED it. A sort of beautifully embroidered cape/kimono combo.

Isn't it odd, in a society and industry that tells us that we need to have massive tits, that all the dresses seem to be cut by people who are in denial about their existence?

Eg Gaga's top, Kerry Washington's leather bodice thing, thingy Vergara's dress and a load of others - there just wasn't enough room in there for their breasts! And the darting was not right and in the wrong place.

TheSpottedZebra · 01/03/2016 10:37

Kate Winslet's dress looked much better in motion. In still pics, the way the light was caught and reflected looked a bit blocky. But have you seen the story (DM, natch) guessing that she may be pregnant by the way she was interacting with Cate B. and Brie ?

Lottapianos · 01/03/2016 13:16

Zebra, totally agree about Tina Fey and Amy Poehler - thought that both looked fabulous. Tina in a very conservative look, Amy in a pretty out there look but both gorgeous.

Agree with far too much boob in general - awfully tacky

Adored Brie Larson's dress but hated her hair and make up. Loved Alicia and Cate, and Olivia Munn's orange dress - a bit of colour can be a great thing!

All power to Jenny Beavan for not wearing a dress and lord knows I'm with her on the heels but I thought she could have dressed much more smartly for such a big occasion. Massive v fingers to Inarritu for not clapping when she was on the way up to collect her award - rude sod

MadameDePompom · 01/03/2016 13:40

Inarritu is on my shit list from now on. Sitting there with his arms folded looking disdainful.

TheSpottedZebra · 01/03/2016 13:42

Did they maybe not twig tha it was a winner coming up the aisle? As surely there are people scurrying about the whole time to fill seats... So maybe they just thought that she was a 'civilian'?
