Here they are....oscar dresses

Not loving Kate Blanchetts Armarni - looks like a swim hat.
Again, not sure about Alicia Vikander's yellow Louis Vuitton - looks half made..
LOVE Brie Larsons Gucci & Charlize Theron's Dior. Sorry Kate Winslet, not loving the shiny Ralph Lauren - too harsh and not flattering. Heidi Klum what were you thinking in that Marchesa chiffon explosion - just no. Kinda liked Gaga for once, Margot Robbie in Tom Ford looks fabulous, Chrissy Teigen wearing Marchesa with baby bump looked epic, Loved Olivia Munn in Stella McCartney, fab colour and silhouette.

Best - Charlize Theron in red Dior
Worst - Heidi Klum in Marchesa chiffon explosion

Alot of Meh though imo...

Just had a quick look through the Guardian pics - a distinct lack of bras this year. Almost all the plunge frocks would have been improved with some decent uplift instead.

Flaming Nora, the women this year at the oscars were so badly dressed.

I stayed up to watch a bit of the red carpet, and I just shook my head.

So many dresses were cut too low. Olivia wilde's dress looked like a cupcake cup. It needed a panel.

Daisy Ridley, I liked the dress although it was neither a gown or cocktail dress, her hair, too harsh and she needed a clutch.

The two kates/cates usually well dressed, looked misplaced.

Game of thrones woman looked like she got her dress from BHS

Naomi watts looked great, as did saorise ronan. Patricia arquette looked lovely.

It comes to something though, when your mum is better dressed than you

Yes agree Jennifer Garner looked stunning. I preferred JLaw's dress to that less subtle number worn by Charlotte Riley.

squoosh · 29/02/2016 13:30

These are the worst of the tit dresses. I mean what were they thinking?

Elisabeth Banks looked fab.

Helena Christen's dress could have been amazing but it needs to be hoiked up and she needs more support in the cup.

I wouldn't have known this was Kate Beckinsale at first glance. She must have had a facelift or something.

I'll just point out a couple of strapless dresses that were way too tight and caused all sorts of fat to come out under the arms. Can't remember who the actresses were.

Was quite please to see Whoopi in a more fitted dress and showing off her tattoos. And some skin too.

Thumbs up for the designer lady in the biker's jacket again. Grin

Did not love some of the tuxedos. They looked too tight and the single button was way too high, showing off too much white shirt at the bottom. Ugly.

NuggetofPurestGreen · 29/02/2016 13:38

was going to say about Miranda Kerr squoosh. Jaysus.

I thought Isla Fisher looked nice although the dress wouldn't be my taste. And Tina Fey's purple number.

Lweji · 29/02/2016 13:38

This was definitely the worst for boobs. WTAF?

Thankfully it was only on E, as she was on the outfit discussion panel. How could she possibly comment on anyone else's dress is beyond me.

theredlion · 29/02/2016 13:58

That red dress worn by the woman on E see picture ^^
Looked like her breasts were under a restraining order. It was bad.

Saoirse Ronin - looked great, very simple but beautiful.

Brie Larson - l loved this, fit for a winner.

Kate Winslet - I'm going to go against the grain and say I loved this, even it's shininess.

Julianne Moore - I loved this black Chanel dress, it really set her hair and make up off beautifully. One of my favourites.

Naomi Watts - her strapless mermaid type dress was unusual and gorgeous I thought.

Reece Witherspoon - looked great, here usual style but still good.

Lady Gage - managed to look original but still really good.

Jennifer Garner - looked gorgeous but stayed safe in black.

Chrissy Teigen - how does anyone that pregnant get out of bed, let alone looking that good?

There were some lovely suits on the men too.

There were also some hot messes, notably Heidi Klum. Someone on Twitter said it looks like she's got caught twirling in the curtains.

theredlion · 29/02/2016 13:59

With apologies for the typos.

squoosh · 29/02/2016 14:01

It's awful isn't it Nugget, like someone just stapled random bits of material together. And even though she's flashing so much flesh it doesn't particularly flatter her shape.

CocktailQueen · 29/02/2016 14:08

WTF was Pharrell Williams thinking? He looks like a right twit - like he's going to go for a paddle!

Heidi Klum - hideous.
Kate Winslet - cheap shiny material.
Emily Ratajkowski - dress barely there!
Helena Christensen - dress needed pulling up over her boobs!
Kate Becksindale - has she had a face lift? Almost unrecognisable. Nice dress, though.
Minnie Driver - hideous floral dress, far too much boob and chest bone on display - awful.
Liked Taylor Swift's and Jerry Hall's dresses.

Lancome2 · 29/02/2016 14:28

Chris Rock, Jennifer Garner and Chrissy Teigen.

ouryve · 29/02/2016 14:32

Someone's going to be dead embarrassed when they realised they forgot to get dressed properly. It's like one of those nightmares.

Jmangel · 29/02/2016 14:35

Loved Olivia Munn and Diane Kruger. The rest just looked like meh Coast dresses.
What has Kate Beckinsale done to her face? I think I'm the same age as her and feel venomously cheated somehow!

LisaMumsnet · 29/02/2016 14:42

Oh I love a good frock debate! I clicked on the video of Charlize Theron being photographed on the red carpet and felt really sorry for her with all the photographers shouting at her to look their way and 'stand as you were'. Made me love my non-red-carpet life a lot more. These glam events can't be fun if you have to pose your way through them while being shouted at.

ouryve · 29/02/2016 14:42

In fact, if you're going to go for the covers the important bits look, this is a far better way to do it.

oldlaundbooth · 29/02/2016 14:53

I thought Charlize looked cheap, DH didn't Hmm

Cate B looked awesome, lovely colour.

Alex Skarsgaard looked beyond dreamy in his tux.

oldlaundbooth · 29/02/2016 14:58

God I wish I looked like Emily Ratajkowski - wouldn't wear that dress, obviously!

oldlaundbooth · 29/02/2016 15:03

Heidi's dress is awful, what a disaster.

oldlaundbooth · 29/02/2016 15:09

Sophie Turner is wearing completely the wrong colour - she would have looked amazing in emerald green.

Isla Fisher is completely beautiful as usual.

Cocolepew · 29/02/2016 15:10

Loved Amy
