Feeling a bit sick of winter clothes? Looking forward to Spring Summer? Dry (and not-so-dry) January is over. Come and join us for fashion links and more. It's friendly here. Smile

I'm in prison which is why I've not been on much.......takes up a lot of time

Do you think it could also be the mid season doldrums Lara? I am bored with my winter clothes but it is too cold for anything else.

Like the sound of your ootd Fedup. Mine was my grey Me&Em dress, black opaques and leopard print pony skin pointy flats. I also had an old, long dark grey kimono-shaped cardigan and my red cocoon coat. I like the coat but feel a bit meh about the rest.

Will look for that VW rescue shop.

Kitty do the Uniqlo trousers wash well?
I got stuck early season 3 of HOC need to try again. Have caught up on the Good Wife though.....
Breton deliveries due tomorrow.
And in random news, we're getting a new tumble dryer tomorrow. We had one of the Hotpoint fire hazard ones and because we had a service insurance policy they are giving us a brand new one instead of fixing the existing one. Result considering the old one was over 5 years old :)

[Grin] Dry
We're watching Icelandic noir Trapped brrrrr. Large bearded men, strangely appealing.

Very excited that socks are in, I can't go sockless unless it's properly hot. Lived those photos Lara.

I was sitting opposite a guy wearing a tail on the tube on Saturday night. I wanted to compliment him but didn't know what to say. The rest of his outfit was normal.

Drywhitethanks · 07/03/2016 21:29

How you feeling shop?

Larastheme · 07/03/2016 21:31

topaz I think so,it still feels like proper winter here, grey and freezing, you would die of hypothermia if you start wearing lighter clothes,

dry I found OITNB really disturbing at first , that thing crazy eyes did to Taylor swift Wink, Made me feel sick ,and reds sandwich [vom], but as you learn about their past lives you really feel for them, but the sex is so graphic and really off putting, I'm always skipping those scenes,

stokey my seven year old self would have been very happy with those frilly socks, but not at32!

Drywhitethanks · 07/03/2016 21:45

lara I agree. I can't believe I'm being sucked in, but I want to find out what happens now.
Shop I loved HOfC but agree, it became a bit too Shakespearean tragedy and dark at times. Great writing though. Can't wait for season 5

S4 is definitely worth watching - they're both as bad as each other except CU wears nicer clothes!

Kitty I find boden petite a really good fit especially the ankle zip skinnies although their sizing is a bit hit and miss as I've had to size down on a couple of things and size up on others!

I do have a few items on my wish list but trying not to buy as I know there will be some discount codes around soon. I have one for White Stuff if anyone is interested?

shopafrolic · 07/03/2016 22:59

Dry still feeing rotten. I sound like a 60 a day smoker.
Not sure if you guys are tempting me or putting me off OITNB! Have any of you watched the 'Chelsea does....' Series on Netflix? With Chelsea Handler? She has a real warped sense of humour but I found them really funny especially the marriage and drugs ones.
We've watched the first two episode of The Night Porter this eve. Very stylish and lots of hot male lead action. Recommend.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 08/03/2016 00:22

i'm around but sticking to my little to no buying rule ive laid down. i just have so so many clothes that i need to use what ive got instead of just keep adding to the piles when i really dont need anything clothes wise right now. i feel a little bit ashamed sometimes at how many clothes ive actually got. 2 wardrobes, one with two drawers in it and one with an upper cupboard, a large hanging rail and 3, 4 drawer chests of drawers plus lots of miscellaneous clothes piled on top of the drawers that dont fit anywhere Blush i have to just stop, wear what ive got and decide if theres things i want to get rid of before i can buy anything else really Blush

KittyHello · 08/03/2016 07:35

Shop they do wash well and they keep their shape. Might get some more.

QueenC · 08/03/2016 07:47

I'm knackered-I stayed up reading. Disclaimer by Renee Knight. A really good read and I couldn't put it down.

shopafrolic · 08/03/2016 08:14

Good news Kitty thanks :)
Morning all - freezing here and I'm still coughing like a man - delightful. Netflix day for me today I think.
I have a yummy mummy friend in NZ and I sent her one of the Mother tees to cheer her up. Got a lovely pic of her in it this morning - she'd chuffed to bits so I've started the day with a warm glow :)

libertydoddle · 08/03/2016 08:26

Oh I love it when people like a gift. It really does give a lovely feeling! Hope you get lots of rest today shop. Is DS back at school?

My OOTD is my Toast navy dress with gold stripes, navy opaques, black Dune brogues, red Chloe peacoat, olive cashmere scarf. Navy Pliage as carrying lots of papers and a laptop.

shopafrolic · 08/03/2016 09:13

Yup DS is back which is great. I am all in black today - Woolovers crew neck, R&B skinnies and IM Crisi boots. Wore my Second Female coatigan for the school run - surprisingly warm considering how thin it is. Really pleased Sleep encouraged me to buy it :)
Hope today goes brilliantly Lib

AmberNectarine · 08/03/2016 09:14

Outnet clearance is on.

I ordered these which I obviously really need Hmm

shopafrolic · 08/03/2016 09:15

Did anyone read Sali Hughes response to the Mumsnet thread?

AmberNectarine · 08/03/2016 09:20

I need to take a leaf out of your book one - my shoe closet looks like a stiletto landfill. They're all sooo pretty though...

MarshaBrady · 08/03/2016 09:30

I haven't read all the beauty bloggers threads, and quickly scanned SH's reply, but I like her reasoning. I can see why flying across the world with a mix of people that you don't know to launch a suncream doesn't appeal. Especially when you have to pay for your own flight. She seems pretty good - I'm actually surprised at how little money is passed between people in what she describes.

I was considering a Marant sparkly jumper, but a) feels like the moment has passed for this and b) it's still £100

Stokey · 08/03/2016 10:18

Fascinating post by Sali Shop, I do think something has to give in the whole social media/insta/marketing/blogging world. Best practice is a very important part of traditional journalism (the world that Sali has come from) which I think gets lost a bit in the blogosphere.

There are a couple of maxis I thought you may like Fedup in the Outnet clearance. I like the halterneck DvFs but think I have too much boobage to rock them.

AmberNectarine · 08/03/2016 10:57

When I was blogging I used to get asked to do the most stupid collaborations (birds eye, anyone?!) and I only ever took the ones I believed in. I hope I was transparent about it (there were no rules in those days, but I always wanted readers to know).

I can see how it's hard not to get swept away by the £££ though.

QueenC · 08/03/2016 13:11

The bloggers thread has been an eye opener. amber have you given up blogging now?
Wearing jeans again to work. Next winter I have to find something other than black cords or jeans to wear in the depth of winter to work. May have to invest in knee high boots to wear with dresses.

Stokey · 08/03/2016 13:21

Sorry it wasn't a dig at you Amber, I remember you always talking about your Dressing Room links.

Actually I think I get more worried about the "news" blogs, quoting rumours as facts and not checking their sources. I would always have to verify any story I wrote with at least two sources before it could get printed, something that just doesn't happen on blogs AFAIK.

MarshaBrady · 08/03/2016 13:50

Nice £100 off at Matches, that I can use. Anyone else get it?

I'm not sure I would demand transparency, build a big following but only take / write about the stuff you love. It's still a recommendation. But then I thought that instagrammer from Aus who did the big reveal should have just kept going with the free stuff. I suppose working quite close to this stuff I'm just not surprised. But then I don't follow those blogs in any case. Interesting topic
