magimedi · 10/02/2016 19:33

Well, I've grabbed the bull by the horns & am leaping into the new thread........

Felt very sad no one else had started one whilst I scoffed dined.

If no one like the title I am more than happy to have it deleted & go with anything else.

DH has taken over the catering for the month of February......... the food is good but the angst is another matter Grin

CVGrin at going to fracture clinic when she has just done a hike with no crutches/plastic boot!

bigTillyMint · 29/02/2016 07:50

Sorry to hear that Cremo. Is he still living at home? Do they have any carers?

motherinferior · 29/02/2016 11:07

I am now being hassled by very, very nice cousin who is coming to see my mum about the details of how she flies to Norwich. I think the flight she is looking for doesn't exist...

bigTillyMint · 29/02/2016 12:08

Does Norwich have an airport?!

motherinferior · 29/02/2016 12:17

Yes, but a small domestic one. You can get to Amsterdam which is one option. Or get the coach from Heathrow or fly to Manchester and connect internally. I'm not particularly good at all this and find it rather burdensome!

magimedi · 29/02/2016 12:36

Honestly, MI - if said cousin is an adult I would (politely) tell them that you are not a travel agent & the internet will be of far more help than you can be.

Just don't engage - just say you don't know & can't help.

MontserratCaballe · 29/02/2016 12:47

MI, you mentioned that you had spoken to a very helpful cousin a week or so ago, who was on board for doing things - is this something which could be passed over to her? If not, MM is right. You have more and greater on your plate right now than her travel plans Flowers

motherinferior · 29/02/2016 13:02

Both vg points. The reason I did put myself out is this is a cousin my age who has at considerable effort and expense sorted visa and ticket to see my mum and has also been vv welcoming and hospitable in India...

English cousin is researching funerals. And local B&Bs. Is lovely.

bigTillyMint · 29/02/2016 13:13

MI, I agree with the others. Lovely that your English cousin is researching funerals - how fab that you have family support, if not from your DF.

Just heard that old colleague is back in the hospice and probably only has a couple more weeksSad

wordassociationfootball · 29/02/2016 13:58

Sorry to hear that BTM

'a good manager makes you think he's important, a good leader makes you think you're important' - Really like that Herbs.

CV - good you didn't do impromptu lunge in your shower cap and pants combo. I don't think I've ever heard you drop an F-bomb before and I'm highly amused it was over World Book Day! (Which brought forth an s-bomb from Beachy)

Sorry about leave/expenses fucknoodlery and also demise of first love Mrs S. But I did smile about 'Quantity rather than quality.'

motherinferior · 29/02/2016 14:53

Oh and lovely sis is apparently off her trolley again. Sad

Lalsy · 29/02/2016 19:48

MI, I am sorry, do look after yourself in all of this.

BeachysFlipFlops · 29/02/2016 20:12

I'm sure it's the reaction to the stressful situation, MI. Not sure what you can really do, but just carry on carrying on. Can she be assigned a helpful cousin/aunt/friend who can look out for her?

motherinferior · 29/02/2016 20:22

She sounds quite ill. Been off work for a few weeks and is awaiting the kicking-in of the only meds which work but also make her put on weight which then drives her back off trolley (I hadn't realised her eating issues were always lurking like thisSad). It is all a bit of a mess but lovely cousin is really being fab as are many others.

And DD1 has solved work experience by walking into the independent bookshop near school and talking them into it.Grin

MrsSchadenfreude · 29/02/2016 22:05

I have had a fab evening with great friends, in the city where I was happiest. I would move back here in a heart beat.

Blackduck · 01/03/2016 06:13

MI so sorry to hear about sis...

MrsS I am so glad you have had a good evening :)

Here it is external audit week - oh joy - and I feeling like I'm drowning in work...

Rosebag · 01/03/2016 09:11

Oh MI I'm sorry your DSis is suffering so. Flowers but yay for DD1 who has certainly got initiative! Smile

crem 'has DDad gone done with a chest infection? Sounds likeike should see the doc. How is he today?

Good luck with the audit BD sounds thankless. Did you make any headway re DMs care home?

Had a nice morning yesterday teaching a lovely group of second timers. Puts me in a good mood, somehow. Doesn't last though Hmm I am joining herbs on the trying very hard and being hungry but not losing any more weight bench....

magimedi · 01/03/2016 09:26

So sorry to hear about your sister, MI. You have got so much to cope with atm - be kind to yourself.

Today is the first day of Spring - HA! Blowing a gale + torrential rain here, just like the last few months.

Ooh, I must try these frames now they're in!

magimedi · 01/03/2016 09:39

Nice shape, but am not a fan of the colour. I had some like that once & never really liked them. Felt they made me look a bit too white & faded - but I do have silver white hair.

OP posts:
motherinferior · 01/03/2016 10:04

The lovely thing is that you have a choice of frame colours!

magimedi · 01/03/2016 10:12

Oooh yes - I quite like the granite.

OP posts:
Cremo · 01/03/2016 11:40

Ooh v nice MI. I like the pale ones, but think the flame orange ones are fabulous. Just NOT the honey ones.Grin
I too have been to optician again and found my scrip to be once again altered. All to do with hefty pills I am on, Diabtetes and some such. Still can see through centre section of varifocals, which is giving me blinding headaches. New specs to be ready Thursday. In the meantime please forgive any additional so typos that usual.

Dad still looking grey and has a bonafide chest infection.trouble is he is so resistant to ant biotics at this stage that it's going to be slow to clear. Am also worried about dmum who is busying herself telling us that they are about to sell of French house to fund her 'home' when dad dies. This has come out of the blue. Long story short, but she is convinced that dsis and I will throw her in a horrible home and take all her money. We are reeling from the insult tbh, and don't know where she has got this idea that we have it in for her. Their money organisation. Is disastrous as ddad won't let her near the paperwork, but he himself has lost the control of it. Dsis is hyperventilating about the house in France and the rest. I just feel overwhelmingly sad. Dmum has no empathy gene at all and no emotional attachment to anything, and thus assumes that we don't either. We did all our growing up in that house, and it is well used by us and dsis family. We have offered to take over the annual outgoings between us, which was met with deep suspicion.
Sad

Off today, so am going to try and curl up in front of fire with a book, instead of going to the supermarket, putting the Hoover round, washing the kitchen floor and putting on a load of washing. I need to ponder my family today.Confused

Rosebag · 01/03/2016 11:43

I do like those frames!!!!

Ok, these are the keepers fro my Boden 20% off haul...

longer length great

love the shape good for big arses

Going back is this which looks vile irl

On back order is this

Cremo · 01/03/2016 12:15

Like me, Rose, you will have a wardrobe full to brimming with Breton topsGrinI find them irresistible. Funny, that denim chambray number would be something I might have chosen. Interesting it is vile.Smile
Love the weekend dress. I wish my weekend attire looked like that instead of this
