magimedi · 10/02/2016 19:33

Well, I've grabbed the bull by the horns & am leaping into the new thread........

Felt very sad no one else had started one whilst I scoffed dined.

If no one like the title I am more than happy to have it deleted & go with anything else.

DH has taken over the catering for the month of February......... the food is good but the angst is another matter Grin

BD Flowers

MI at least he apologised....

Magi wish you better Brew There are some vile bugs around.

MrsS thinking of you and hoping for good news soon Flowers

Addle that's good news about your DH. Long may it continue.

CV is there any way you can find out who else is on the waiting list? It might end up being the cool, alternative. You never know.

NU Are you feeling any better?

Lovely brunch and natter in a very posh location with Molly this morning. We feel we must persuade other Crepeys to join us there at a future date
( in spite of the eye watering cost of a pot of tea....) And you, Monty !!Smile

Dreamqueen · 23/02/2016 15:06

MrsS hope all goes well & results are good.

Collymollypuff · 23/02/2016 15:24

Our lunch was indeed lovely, and painlessly gluten-free. The sun shone on us. I feel restored.

However, my backpack is still full of two brand-new guides to Switzerland and a map...duh, we forgot to do Switzerland! Never mind, I can bring them to the March Mulberry Meet, if you're still considering a hol there. Blush

Thank you so much, Rose, it was a great joy for me. xx

Collymollypuff · 23/02/2016 15:25

lunch brunch. We were thinking of you, MrsS. Crem's idea of entering all the MN Comps is a good 'un.

Rosebag · 23/02/2016 15:41

Molly I am a dumb ass...

hattymattie · 23/02/2016 17:13

Just rushing in to say Mrs S - hope all went well today.

Back to packing and ironing.

Cremo · 23/02/2016 17:13

I have chopped back all the lavender bushes.that I meant to do in October Blushand had a good old tidy up outside. I am most impressed with self doing gardening in Feb, but it is a sunny and glistening day and I had no-one to go for a walk with. Dh is also full of the cold MM and behaving in a doomy manner, and being a pita about dirty tissues ( dropping them all over the place.) Sorry about your lurg too MM. get well soon. Thanks
CV I wouldn't go if I was to be sectioned off, unless I knew the others in the same situation. If so, it could be a blast and you could behave wildly like it was 1986 or something!

herbaceous · 23/02/2016 17:56

Hello my lovely crepeys. I realise I haven't been around much (this post fell off my 'posts you're on' thingo), but it's mainly because I have nothing to say!

Usual stuff. Trying to get DS to complete his project - creating a habitat for an animal in a shoebox. Battling with sixth-formers for paltry payment. Going to a rap party in the RFH with a raging hangover. That kind of thing.

Good luck to Mrs S, and good to hear a certain amount of cheeriness emerging from the general crepey air.

Cremo · 23/02/2016 18:35

Mrs S, I am worried about you.

bigTillyMint · 23/02/2016 18:42

Got confirmation of our booking downstairs at the MBWine

CV, that college do does sound excessively "organised", but then what do I know - I have never been to any formal reunions - none ever organised by my old poly AFAIK! I would try to find out who else is in the select group - you don't want to be stuck with a load of dullards (not sure dullards is the right word for old Oxbrigians - maybe more aging nerds?!)

MM, sorry to hear you are feeling illFlowers

Cremo, I could do with a big pruning on one side of the garden. The other side has been decimated somewhat by next doors buildersConfused

Herbs, a rap party? Urban Grime or something more genteel?

motherinferior · 23/02/2016 18:43

MrsS is knackered but is OK. Or was earl tie this afternoon. We had a quick post-hospital lunch.

bigTillyMint · 23/02/2016 18:43

Oh yes, MrsS, how did it go in my local hosp?

Cremo · 23/02/2016 18:52

Thanks MISmileThanksglad to hear all ok.

Cremo · 23/02/2016 18:55

Thanks MISmileThanksglad to hear all ok.

motherinferior · 23/02/2016 18:59

Will leave her to give any more details but I gather it wasn't a barrel of laughs.

DD1 was born (slowly and grimly) in that hospital. Ending up with no fewer than 13 ( thirteen, xiii) medics in the room. Ouch. (DD2 was a dippy-hippy home birth in our front room. You can probably still find the thread on MN where my waters went and they were taking bets on when I'd produce.)

Lalsy · 23/02/2016 19:03

MI, ds was born in our front room. It makes me not want to move - ever. This wasn't included in the list of pros and cons of home births. Good thing I love my street and my neighbours Grin.

MrsS, hope your feet are up and all other parts in their normal places.

bigTillyMint · 23/02/2016 19:05

DS shot out fast in that hospital - I insisted on kneeling after a very painful and long labour with an epidural and then emergency rush into the operating theatre and ventouse in StThoms for DD!.

motherinferior · 23/02/2016 19:16

Sounds like DD1's birth, Dan is chopping an onion. I said helpfully we have lots of frozen chopped onion. He informed me primly he prefers to use the fresh ones. Given the fact he otherwise relies on frozen sodding veg I absented myself before I felt the need to get physical with a fork. (For the record, frozen chopped onion is rather marvellous especially as it is very finely chopped. And enables one to focus on other aspects of cooking.)

motherinferior · 23/02/2016 19:17

Sorry, that should read

Sounds like DD1's birth, BTM!

DP is chopping ...

MrsSchadenfreude · 23/02/2016 19:18

I am home - had late meeting that turned into a bitching session, which was quite cathartic. It was hideous, the whole procedure. Glad it's over. Go back for the results next Wednesday, which means I am cutting my next work trip short. Hopefully that will be it, and no more surgery, but will know more next week. Surgeon said not to worry too much - it would hopefully be nothing, but if it was something, they had caught it very early. DH is sorting dinner. Hoorah.

MontserratCaballe · 23/02/2016 19:21

I've had a baby at Kings, with a lovely planned section with Brahms playing. Post natal ward bit grim though.

MrsS, you must be shattered. Hope you are now resting with a glass of something and that Dh has stepped up to the plate (literally) Flowers

MontserratCaballe · 23/02/2016 19:23

x posts MrsS. Glad Dh has donned his pinny. Rest well.

bigTillyMint · 23/02/2016 19:29

MrsS, glad the surgeon was positive - fingers crossed for you. And glad your DH is doing the right thing.

Blackduck · 23/02/2016 19:32

BTM/MI sounds similar to ds - top her up for C section etc etc.... Apparently there were vast numbers of medical staff (including neo- natel nurses) in the room, so much so Dp could only actually squeeze his hand through the crush :)

Hope MrsS is okay.

Lalsy · 23/02/2016 19:36

MrsS, glad to hear this Flowers. Rest.

MI, I have defrosted my freezer because of you Smile. You are quite right about frozen butternut squash and, I am sure, onions and I now have room for them. I have cooked really quite revolting dinners because I cannot face peeling and chopping another sodding onion (voice rises in pathetic yet shrill manner).
