Sex at midnight? Blimey blingy your dh is one lucky guy. I'm normal fast asleep dribbling on the pillow by then Grin.

I hate all my clothes Hmm. Well I don't, but I hate them for work. Considering an emergency trip to John Lewis...

HappyGirlNow · 22/11/2015 13:30

Afternoon all, lovely and sunny but cold up here in Scotland! Brrrrr

Had a good night thanks, and yes, after a few glasses of bubbles my herpes outbreak seemed less important Grin

I have tried those cold sore sticker things linus - they start off well but start coming away if you're eating/drinking and flapping about - NOT a good look ha!

Hope you're feeling better soon blair

Ooh dry the disco should arrive tomorrow/Tuesday - excited!! I also love this one - even more glam for evening but too similar to justify buying.... Probably....

And the Indian Michelin in Geneva got back to me and the reason I can't book online is that they're closed Sunday and Monday nights - the two nights we're there... Meh! linus did you happen to get a chance to ask your DH are the country restaurant?

Just ordered this dress as a potential for my husband's birthday party - what do you think? Was thinking with either nude or black strappy sandals and my black YSL Ligne Y clutch..

Longislandicetee · 22/11/2015 14:08

QueenC nooo! don't do the emergency panic run to John Lewis! If you don't think it through beforehand you may end up wasting your money. I have just been through some of your Pinterest boards - yourwardrobe plus, your interview outfits and work outfits inspiration board to get some ideas. I was thinking of one of the blouses in your wardrobe, with slim fitting trousers, cardigan and either block heels or flats?

{time on my hands as I am hiding upstairs cooling down as I just lost it with dd for consistently not listeningSad}

QueenCardi · 22/11/2015 15:20

Too late blingy. Less than an hour in JL and about £500 spent Grin. It may seem excessive but honestly I couldnt come up with 3 outfits that I was happy with (I'll be doing 3 days). will link in a bit....

Longislandicetee · 22/11/2015 15:39

Omg!!!!Shock you're not keeping them unless they're 100% perfect!

FedupNagging · 22/11/2015 15:55

Supermarket sweep Queen stylee Grin looking forward to the links.

Missed your cardigan link Marsha - it looks so soft and cosy. I love the boots so obviously you must purchase.

Sounds like you and Sleep had a great time last night Shop. Bet you both looked fantastic.

Wow Happy, that's one sexy dress wonders if you will you be warm enough. I think black shoes and bag - the nude in the picture look too bland.

VivaVegas · 22/11/2015 15:56

Oh dear Queen, I was about to say the same and don't do it! As long as you've got something you feel confident and comfortable in for tomorrow I would hold fire and see what everybody else is wearing. I work in a very corporate environment but these days people dress so casual (far too casual IMO) unless they are with clients. I still dress smart (smarter than most!) apart from Friday's as I feel better/that it's more appropriate.

FedupNagging · 22/11/2015 15:57

Forgot to add Flowers for Blingy for missed opportunity last night Wink and to help you calm down now!

libertydoddle · 22/11/2015 16:17

They has better be perfect! or I'll be forced to go over there and frog march you back to JL

Boots are great Marsha. Very cool. How much discount can you get?

shop sounds like a great night out with sleep. Love hearing about MNV MUs!!

Deep breaths blingy. I often feel like I am repeating myself all the time with my DD too. So annoying, but also very normal. Flowers for you.

QueenCardi · 22/11/2015 16:45

Hey, I'm a voguette....of course they'll all perfect. They are all things that I would buy normally. I know it seems mad but there were various reasons why a lot of my blouses wouldn't work (too fitted to fit heatech under, sleeves would drive me mad at work, didn't look right with trousers and smart shoes). Everything had been bought to go with jeans. The only thing I loved with trousers is the toast top so no suprises that I have bought 2 more.

HappyGirlNow · 22/11/2015 16:45

Ooh I hope it's not too much fed - I want sexy but not too much... It comes Saturday. I really want it to be right, think it'll depend how see through it is...

Agree black is way to go.... Or maybe red shoes?

QueenCardi · 22/11/2015 16:47

toast top.

QueenCardi · 22/11/2015 16:48

toast top

LinusLovesBretons · 22/11/2015 16:49

happy the restaurant is Domaine de Chateauvieux in Satigny. Apparently very nice and very £££. Wink

Il Finestra is a nice Italian as well according to DH.

queenc you don't waste any time, do you? We'll be strict but fair when you show us your purchases. Grin

QueenCardi · 22/11/2015 16:51

jumper. Have loved this ever since I first saw it months ago but couldn't justify it. Until now.

QueenCardi · 22/11/2015 16:54

shoes. I don't have any flat black shoes aside from ghillies that obviously don't work in winter. These were needed to go with a black dress I have and also to go with black trousers.

Ill just have to walk in trainers and change at the office as these will get trashed otherwise.

HappyGirlNow · 22/11/2015 16:58

Brilliant linus ty! Smile

QueenCardi · 22/11/2015 17:01

shoes. These were a complete wildcard try on. I realised that I liked the practicality of brogues but they are too boyish for me. I liked these, tried them on and loved them. I wasn't sure that i could justify them as I already have navy ballet flats but despite the fact that I will wear trainers to walk to the office, some days I will need to walk from the office to the hospital (about 15min) and these will be perfect for that.

So, I'm very happy. I now have 3 blouses, a jumper and 2 dresses that I feel entirely happy with. It means I don't have to wear exactly the same week in, week out. Dh was a bit Hmm but I refuse to let him make me feel guilty as it is just the price of a suit for him of which he has 3.

QueenCardi · 22/11/2015 17:08

Also tried on this jumper but it was a bit shapeless on me. And I tried on the grey version of the navy one I bought but it was a bit dull looking on me.

MarshaBrady · 22/11/2015 17:10

Happy the Self Portrait dress is show-stopping. I think black not red for the other stuff. But only question is how see-through is it? And do you have the right stuff to wear under it

Lib they were 40% off but probably finished now. Still ££, might wait for a bigger sale.

Love the flurry of links and posts today. Going to check out your QueenC - you're better than me at buying work clothes - fast!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 22/11/2015 17:11

QueenC can't wait for links! On the outfit planning front, can I suggest a spreadsheet? Wink Oh and I love the dress you linked for me, onto the sales wishlist it goes.

I too love the boots Marsha, esp the cone heel.

Sleep so glad you had a fantastic time last night, it sounds great!

QueenCardi · 22/11/2015 17:13

this was a gorgeous colour but weird shape

HappyGirlNow · 22/11/2015 17:25

Thanks marsha and totally agree that it depends how see through... It doesn't look TOO bad on net-a-porter or on the self-portrait site itself..

www.self-portrait-studio.com/collection/dresses/striped-mesh-column-dress-924

BUT the lining does stop very high up! Grin

I will find out Saturday....

Would just wear a nude strapless bra and knickers under it - or maybe short nude Spanx Wink

libertydoddle · 22/11/2015 17:25

V sensible work shopping QueenC! Good call on the Toast tops when you know the shape works for you. The navy loafers look great. I really like loafers for work.

happy that dress is amazing. Agree black shoes and bag would be best.

blingy I saw a gorgeous Tanzanite ring today in a antique / vintage jewellers. Made me think of you!

AmberNectarine · 22/11/2015 17:31

Wow your husband is a minimalist QueenC - my DH has 10 suits and wears a different one every day even though they all look the same

I think a good work wardrobe can make an enormous difference to both how you are perceived and how you perform (I.e. I always feel more confident when I am dressed sharply) so worth every penny IMO. My boss and I are properly judgey of the people in our team who (despite earning very, very well) wear ill-fitting/worn out clothes.
