Any work-do appropriate cocktail dresses out there (without bloody lace inserts or sleeves)

Had hoped the lace thing would have died by this year, apparently not.

Looking for a nice dress, not short (I'm 5'9") with sleeves. I did well with an Other Stories dress last year.

Anyone else on the hunt for similar, can we please share finds?

Have you ploughed through the endless ones on asos yet? I think that style wpuld be classed as skater midi on there (I have bee looking!!) but would probably come up as knee length on you. Loads of different brands.

MrsBertMacklin · 08/11/2015 20:14

Mewkins yes, either sleeveless, expensive, not in my size or too revealing. Same with John Lewis Sad

What's your budget?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 08/11/2015 20:27

Budget? Colours? Shops you usually like?

tethersend · 08/11/2015 20:27

I quite like this, but depends on your colouring...

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 08/11/2015 20:37

That is fab, Tethers. I'd look like I was in fancy dress but on the right person it would be amazing.

MrsBertMacklin · 08/11/2015 20:54

£120 max, I won't have reason to wear it again. I like Whistles and Jaeger, don't like Hobbs. Big fan of the Danish fashion and ASOS White if I was more toned.

Like the red Next one.

Wearily marking my place. I also need a dress but for the end of Nov

I've just spent over an hour on La Redoute, no joy.

calzone · 08/11/2015 21:08

Love the red dress.

There was a few in store at outfit / dps but not loving their website. I'm with you on the lace, I bought it for a Xmas do in 2008 & it's still knocking around.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 08/11/2015 21:45

Too plain? Comes in green too

Red

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 08/11/2015 21:45

Just seen budget - these are over but there might be a code?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 08/11/2015 21:47

Reiss sale

BrendaandEddie · 08/11/2015 21:48

MrsBertMacklin · 08/11/2015 21:49

Thanks, The blue DP one has potential.

I've got that Whistles one for work, not sure it's dressy enough, could it be?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 08/11/2015 21:52

Depends what you're doing and what you wear it with, I guess!

BrendaandEddie · 08/11/2015 21:52

does it have to be a dress

Idefix · 08/11/2015 21:57

MrsBertMacklin · 08/11/2015 21:59
