I have a gp appointment in an hour, I'm going to ask her for this. Has anybody used it? It seems to be for erythema rosacea which I think is what I have.

I've suffered for as long as I can remember, can remember my mam coming in when I was about 11 with a green no7 foundation for me because I was being picked on at school because of it. I've worn full coverage makeup for as long as I can remember aswell, when I was younger I could get away with green concealer and dream matte mousse, but now I have to cake on the vichy dermablend or Mac full coverage foundation to make any difference.

I have no pustules or lumps, but I have broken capillaries under the skin and it's getting deeper and more purply the older I'm getting.

Just wondered if anyone had tried it? Any good or bad reviews of it? Would you recommend it or something else?

I would give the GP a try. My GP referred me to the private dermatologist a few years ago. GP did specialise in dermatology but obviously couldn't get IPL on NHS, which he thought would be the best treatment. Private GP put me on lymacycline and had IPL with him. My NHS GP was happy to continue with lymacycline and this week was happy to prescribe mirvaso for me to try. I honestly have to say the IPL and antibiotics combo really helped a LOT, i would go as far to say almost life changing as i had become very aware and so self conscious of it. I had horrible bumpy tiny pustules with awful redness. I hated going out of the house even with full make up as it just couldn't be covered up.

I have found Clinique Even Better foundation a god send, with Benefit BOiing concealer the only thing to really help with the redness now the pustules/tiny bumps are under control. The mirvaso so far has been great for the redness. Skin looks smoother and much clearer, i think i look younger :) Will keep reporting back on the mirvaso if people are interested. Lots of reviews online after short term use but doesn't seem to be many reviews after longer term use.

Probably because people have quit using it.

I'm hoping that they may reformulate in time and work on the rebound flushing issue.

Definitely interested in updates.

Me too. I've read about this treatment but the rebound flush put me off. I use finacea (sp?) which works well on the pustules but still get a residual red rash which gets me down.

FYI there is a new treatment for rosacea called soolantra which is ivermectin based and has been shown to work really well on p&p with some improvement on redness in some people.

I get quite obvious weather related rosacea - for some reason the sun makes it better?? but have had this prescribed (after keeping an eye on release date for a year) and is good for my p&p so far.
