I have a gp appointment in an hour, I'm going to ask her for this. Has anybody used it? It seems to be for erythema rosacea which I think is what I have.

I've suffered for as long as I can remember, can remember my mam coming in when I was about 11 with a green no7 foundation for me because I was being picked on at school because of it. I've worn full coverage makeup for as long as I can remember aswell, when I was younger I could get away with green concealer and dream matte mousse, but now I have to cake on the vichy dermablend or Mac full coverage foundation to make any difference.

I have no pustules or lumps, but I have broken capillaries under the skin and it's getting deeper and more purply the older I'm getting.

Just wondered if anyone had tried it? Any good or bad reviews of it? Would you recommend it or something else?

sksk I recently bought Sequaderma for redness prone skin as it's meant to help with flushing. Been using it for a week and I haven't flushed for last few days although it's hard to say so early on whether it's the cream or if my skin is just behaving at the moment. Its worth a try though. I got it from Lloyds Pharmacy.

BelindaBagwash · 10/10/2015 14:46

I've tried everything over the years, from prescription tablets and gels to very expensive cosmetics and green concealers.

By far the best product for evening out and covering my rosacea is Avon BB cream

RavioliOnToast · 10/10/2015 19:34

My mam picked it up for me today, shes dropping it round now then I'll check to make sure there's no reaction tonight and I'll apply it tomorrow morning. I'll do one side of my face with it on and one without. I hope it works!!

I've just looked this cream up OP and there are actually alot of bad reviews, people saying it only works for a few hours and makes the underlying issue worse and when they have tried to ween off of it, their skin is so much worse. I thought i'd post so you could look it up a bit more before you get using it too much.

RavioliOnToast · 10/10/2015 20:11

Ah no, I'll have a look for bad reviews, I've only read good ones. Thanks for the heads up though Gaston

You will have to decide for yourself obviously because the cream I use people say doesn't work but if you asked anyone who knows me they'd say how different my skin is now!

HopefulAnxiety · 10/10/2015 21:47

Has anyone found that any of the emollient cleansers (not aqueous cream because it has SLS) help at all?

RavioliOnToast · 11/10/2015 09:30

I'm up and have washed my face, I've applied the gel to one half of my face and I'll take a photo of both sides in 30 minutes. I didn't react last night to the product on my wrist so fingers x'd it'll be okay on my face. Im excited!

Looks like it's definitely worked! What do you think of it x

HopefulAnxiety · 11/10/2015 10:47

Ooooh.

RavioliOnToast · 11/10/2015 10:47

I look funny. I've never ever seen my skin like this before, ever. It's odd because I'm still freckley but things like the bruise from the extraction on my jaw, I didn't even realise I had one because the colouring was so intense it hid it. It's odd. I look strange.

wow. that looks like a massive difference in redness! (And you have lovely skin!)

I asked for finacea gel at my GP appointment after researching online - the metronizodole creams he kept prescribing weren't doing anything for me, and I didn't want to take so many ABs on a maintenance dose. The finacea gel clears up my rosacea pustules in 24 hours, whereas before they seriously made me look like I had bubonic plague 14 days a month.

Half the problem with rosacea is that everyone has a different experience of it, and doctors don't really understand what causes it, so there's lots of trial and error. Always worth asking, I reckon!

WhyDoesGastonBark · 11/10/2015 12:34

That looks great! With those cartoon lashes on you kind of look like Adele lol!

RavioliOnToast · 11/10/2015 16:00

My jaw is so square and sore haha. Good news is, today I put a low-medium coverage foundation on, it covered straight away, and it's still perfect! No redness peeping through at all Grin

RavioliOnToast · 11/10/2015 16:05

And thank-you for the lovely skin comment Smile I really like my skin other than the redness Grin

How are things going a couple of weeks on, Ravioli?

As I normally look like this Halloween Angry I'm keen to know if the good results have continued!

AlisonWunderland · 23/10/2015 17:02

I've used Mirvaso with very good effects initially. It took some getting used to, as being pink is normal for me, so I thought I looked ill when I used it!
Unfortunately I had to stop using it because of severe rebound flushing. However I am menopausal and I think the combination of mild hot flush and mild rebound created mega flush.

It's good for "red" rosacea, but not much use for spotty rosacea

zippyswife · 23/10/2015 18:14

Congrats on finding something that works for you op! Looks to be a real success. I'm pg at the moment and my rosacea is kicking up a storm. The minute ive had the baby I'll be down the doctors asking for some!

ilovebruuuceandbags · 23/10/2015 20:54

I've had rosacea for years, and am on lymacyline which helps with the pustules a lot but i still have redness behind it all. Have tried various creams/gels on prescription and nothing worked for me. I had IPL therapy at a private dermatologist based at local hospital which really helped but was expensive so only used that at my worst (IPL helps massively!!). Anyway, on the back of this thread i went to the dr to ask for Mirvaso and have now used it for 2 days. Very pleased with results so far, it has lasted all day and really has made my skin loads better. I've still worn my usual foundation but it looks clearer, dewier, etc. Just hoping don't get adverse effects! Thanks OP!

Coastingit · 23/10/2015 21:54

Just marking place. Don't GPs just laugh you out of the surgery? I have rosacea and wouldn't dare ask my GP for help. It looks alright once I slather makeup on every morning, I just accept it as what my face is like iyswim and really don't believe the GPs at my local surgery would take me seriously if I asked them to treat it. Maybe a private dermatologist but not GP!

Whoknewitcouldbeso · 23/10/2015 22:03

I have also read lots of bad things about this cream so won't use it. I used to be part of all the rosacea message groups and everyone was do excited about this product. It's really devastating that the rebound flushing is such a problem and yet it still made it through testing and into the market!!!'
