Mirvaso rosacea gel/cream

I have a gp appointment in an hour, I'm going to ask her for this. Has anybody used it? It seems to be for erythema rosacea which I think is what I have.

I've suffered for as long as I can remember, can remember my mam coming in when I was about 11 with a green no7 foundation for me because I was being picked on at school because of it. I've worn full coverage makeup for as long as I can remember aswell, when I was younger I could get away with green concealer and dream matte mousse, but now I have to cake on the vichy dermablend or Mac full coverage foundation to make any difference.

I have no pustules or lumps, but I have broken capillaries under the skin and it's getting deeper and more purply the older I'm getting.

Just wondered if anyone had tried it? Any good or bad reviews of it? Would you recommend it or something else?

I've got rosacea. It's not too bad but the doctor gave me cream for it years ago which didn't work. I haven't heard of the cream you mentioned but just googled it and saw an amazing YouTube video it looks good!

Ooh I haven't watched the YouTube video, I'll have a look for it now.

I just don't eat to come across as a cheeky little cow asking for certain things Grin

Oooh bookmarking, I am definitely interested. I keep being told I'm too young to have rosacea Hmm and that I just have normal acne. Not with super dry skin and very standard rosacea symptoms I don't! Like you OP I've always had it, seems to be genetic via my mum's side.

Awful photo but this is my skin. My nose is always red and so is my chin. It's not too bad today but can be worse X

Well I'll update on what the doc said, I'm currently walking along the Dr's like this.. As I'm so.so so ashamed of my redness

Yeah definitely update us. I always use mac concealer it's the only thing that works to cover it X

Well the full coverage foundation is apparently a giant version of the concealer. I love it so much. It's far too much hassle everyday to apply such a full coverage look.

Hopeful I have no idea how old you are but at 20 I was told I was too young for it, I suffered for 6 years and they have finally confirmed I have it and now put me on a cream and its been amazing! Just keep going back and moaning at them!

Also, give the l'oreal cc cream (the green one) a try once you start to notice a change in it. It's really good at neutralising the red

I asked at 24 or so, getting up to 27 (fuck!) early next year so perhaps I will go and moan at them again!

My problem aside from the redness is bumps on my forehead - not sure what type that is? They're not like spots...almost like little blisters or keratosis pilaris, little clear bumps.

I'm 22 and she initially said I looked 'cute' Blush but respected that confidence was important and feeling comfortable - literally - in my own skin was a major factor. She prescribed the one I asked for but the pharmacy didn't have it in stock. I'm picking it up tomorrow. Gp advised to try it on the inside of my wrist to make sure I don't react but I'll post a before and after on Sunday if you'd like? Grin

Yes I get the bumps too, they are all gone now with the cream.

The cream I have been prescribed says it works over the course of 12 hours. And needs to be reapplied after that time. Will it gradually make a permanent difference?

Mine took 4-5 days but the doc said it would take a month to see results so I was impressed but I use rozex not the one you have.

Mirvaso works on flushing rather than other rosacea symptoms (so might not be the right thing for everybody). I understand that it works by constricting blood supply to the skin. My dermatologist said that you can get rebound flushing when it wears off (i.e. At the end of the 12 hours), so you might need to time it carefully. I dont think it has a cumulative effect.

I have terrible rosacea- Red and bumpy and scaly and painful. I'll try to find a pic of when it was bad. Only a combo of oral anti-bs plus Rolex cream has had any effect.

This could be a solution to my problem as I get flushing very easily. Is this prescription only? I'm currently using clindamycin gel for my acne and wonder if that would work for the rednes on my nose as well.

I asked for it on prescription I'm not sure if it prescription only though. I am aware it's about £40 a tube but not sure if you can actually purchase it. It's a brimonadine tartrate gel so maybe look for that online? She was happy that if it worked for me to go back and she'll put it on repeat prescription
